With heavy footsteps, the figures gradually emerged from the distance.
It was a large pack of Tyrantrum, accompanied by a few smaller Tyrunt.
At a rough glance, there appeared to be around twenty of them.
For ancient Pokémon like these, a modern population of twenty was considered quite substantial.
Even in prehistoric times, a group of this size would have been formidable.
The lead Tyrantrum scanned the area, searching for the missing Tyrunt.
Instead, it found Aoki and his Pokémon standing before them.
Aoki narrowed his eyes, observing the leader Tyrantrum as his system scanned its data.

This nearly three-meter-tall Tyrantrum was the leader of the pack—a female with a commanding presence.
Aoki quickly assessed the rest of the group, noting their levels hovered around 40. Tyrunt only evolved into Tyrantrum at level 39, meaning this pack had been thriving in these badlands for some time.
Their hunting tactics matched the earlier Tyrunt's ambush strategy.
Now that one of their young had been defeated, the entire family had emerged.
Aoki smirked, retrieving a Poké Ball and the portable Pokémon transporter he had recently received from Limone.
Meanwhile, on a distant island, Porygon2 displayed Aoki's image.
Swampert's Poké Ball was withdrawn, and after a brief confirmation, it was placed onto the transporter, vanishing instantly.
Simultaneously, another Poké Ball materialized in Aoki's hand.
He tossed both into the air.
Swampert and Politoed appeared in flashes of light.
Dark clouds gathered overhead as Politoed emerged, though they quickly dissipated.
Aoki had no intention of summoning rain—neither Pupitar nor Lairon benefited from it, and with no Swift Swim Pokemon on his team, there was no advantage.
Still, Swampert and Politoed's presence alone was enough to shift the battle's momentum.
Their levels far surpassed the wild Tyrantrum pack.
Their role, however, was primarily to support Pupitar, Lairon, and Combusken.
"Pupitar, set up Stealth Rock, then use Precipice Blades!"
"Lairon, activate Magnet Rise, then Head Smash!"
"Combusken, use Agility again!"
Aoki's commands came swiftly.
Pupitar scattered jagged stones across the battlefield—without them, the whole Tyrantrum group charge would be devastating.
Precipice Blades, though imperfect, was still a devastating Ground-type move, super-effective against the Rock/Dragon hybrids.
Lairon's limbs crackled with electricity as Magnet Rise lifted it slightly, reducing its weight just enough to accelerate like a battering ram.
Combusken matched its pace before delivering a powerful kick to Lairon's hind legs, propelling it forward with even greater force.
The Combusken itself used the recoil to leap high into the air.
Behind them, Swampert and Politoed advanced.
Though Swampert was still recovering from fatigue, it had been too long since its last real fight.
A savage grin spread across its face as Earth Power coiled around its fists, muscles bulging before it slammed a devastating punch straight into the lead Tyrantrum's jaw.
Pupitar and Lairon were still underleveled—Swampert and Politoed would handle the bulk of the offense.
Politoed sprang upward with its incredible jumping ability, forming a spinning Hydro Vortex between its palms before hurling it at another Tyrantrum.
"Ralts!" The tiny Psychic/Fairy-type floated beside Aoki, waving its arms excitedly in encouragement.
Aoki flicked its forehead playfully. "Quit cheering and get to work. Misty Terrain."
Ralts stuck out its tongue before hovering higher, a faint pink mist spreading from its body.
The haze thickened, enveloping the battlefield.
Though Ralts' level was low, the terrain still disrupted the Tyrantrum's coordination.
CRACK!
Swampert's punch sent the leader Tyrantrum crashing to the ground, instantly knocking it out.
The level difference was too great, and the type advantage overwhelming.
But Swampert didn't press further—this battle belonged to Combusken and the others.
Lairon clashed head-on, its steel-hard body weathering blows while Combusken darted in for rapid strikes.
Despite losing its limbs upon evolving, Pupitar's mobility hadn't suffered—if anything, mastering Jet propulsion made it even more agile than before.
Razor-sharp blades of compressed air erupted from the ground, slashing at the Tyrantrum's vulnerable underbellies.
Swampert, watching from the sidelines, instinctively winced.
Politoed held its own, its level comparable to the wild Tyrantrum.
Combusken, now at peak speed, weaved effortlessly between the lumbering dinosaurs, too swift for them to retaliate.
