"Wow, this armor is really way too convenient."
After flying out of the house, Tohka carried Miku Izayoi and rushed toward San Francisco at top speed. But even while being held in Tohka's arms, Miku Izayoi wasn't the least bit calm, curiously looking left and right.
She originally wanted to take advantage of the moment, but since Tohka was wearing a full suit of armor, there was nothing she could do, and she had to give up reluctantly.
"Wait a second, what's that behind us—is that a fighter jet?"
But at that moment, Miku Izayoi exclaimed in fright, noticing that there was actually a fighter jet following behind them.
"Tohka, could you please not cause so much trouble?"
Just then, Tony's good buddy Colonel Rhodes contacted Tohka directly. His tone was full of helplessness—clearly, Tohka had caused trouble again:
"Can you please be mindful of your flight path? Why are you acting just like Tony? You've entered our military restricted zone again. And you're even carrying someone. Also, didn't Canada just report someone forcefully entering their restricted airspace recently? Was that you too?"
"Ah, hahaha, sorry about that. And please don't open fire, I'll leave right away."
Upon hearing Rhodes' words, Tohka laughed awkwardly. Then she sped up again, instantly leaving the fighter jet far behind.
"You… just leave quickly, otherwise it'll be hard for me to handle."
Watching Tohka speed away, Colonel Rhodes breathed a sigh of relief. He was truly afraid Tohka would suddenly get in the mood to mess around with the fighter jet, and he might have to give the order to fire.
Of course, as for whether they could actually shoot her down, he wasn't optimistic. After all, from what he knew, although Tohka's armor wasn't more advanced than Tony's, it was much more troublesome to deal with.
At the very least, that energy shield was enough to give a fighter a headache.
"Okay, I'm going now. Sorry again, I forgot to check the map."
Looking at the red zones on the screen, Tohka quickly exited the area.
"Waaaah!"
Okay, compared to Tohka, Miku Izayoi let out a slightly terrified scream.
Although Tohka protected her from wind pressure, the sudden acceleration and the sight of everything rushing past in reverse still gave her a fright.
After all, they were flying through open air with no protective measures, and this speed definitely exceeded that of a normal passenger plane.
"Don't be scared, nothing's going to happen."
Hearing Miku Izayoi's voice in her arms, Tohka lowered her head and comforted her gently.
"This... feels so good."
Clearly, Tohka had misunderstood. Miku Izayoi wasn't scared—she was excited. But Tohka was starting to wonder if Miku had lost it a little.
This wasn't quite the Miku she remembered. Then again, after going through such highs and lows in life, anyone might want to let loose a little.
"All right, miss, we've arrived. I've already notified the staff in charge. Based on earlier reports, since today's not a weekend, the amusement park isn't too crowded."
Just then, Jarvis' voice sounded again from inside Tohka's armor. Not far ahead, Tohka could already see a city.
"Wow. That was fast. Normally a plane would take several hours, but we made it in just over ten minutes."
Looking at the distant city, Tohka knew that was their destination. Even so, she was a little amazed. She'd just crossed the entire United States—who knew how fast she had actually flown?
"Hello, Miss Tohka."
When Tohka landed at the location Jarvis provided, a staff member was already waiting respectfully for her. Clearly, Jarvis had informed them.
After all, Tohka's identity was special. And based on the permissions Tony had given her, she could even shut down this amusement park if she wanted. Tony himself probably forgot he even owned a private amusement park here.
"Okay, I know. You can go now—don't follow us."
Tohka was fine with people she knew being around Miku, but she kept her distance from anyone who might interrupt their fun. She casually took the VIP pass from the staff member's hand, gave a polite nod, and then led Miku Izayoi toward the inside of the amusement park.
Of course, she didn't forget to remind the guy not to follow them—she didn't want some mood-killing third wheel tagging along.
"Yes, miss."
Hearing Tohka's words, the staff member nodded and left. As for whether Tohka might encounter danger, he wasn't worried at all.
Honestly, even if someone blew the amusement park sky high, Tohka probably wouldn't get hurt.
"Thanks, Tohka. Let's ride the roller coaster. I bet that's one of the park's main attractions."
Watching the staff member leave, Miku Izayoi took Tohka's hand and headed toward the massive roller coaster that spanned half the park. It was so tall and visible, you could see it from a mile away.
"Let's go—over there, then."
Being pulled along by Miku made Tohka feel a bit floaty. She didn't quite hear where they were going but followed anyway.
"Uh, this…"
Okay, now Tohka started to panic. Strangely enough, she had no issue flying at supersonic speed, but something about this gave her anxiety.
Maybe it was the atmosphere, or maybe she had a traumatic memory of a roller coaster from her past life. In any case, the moment she sat down, she began trembling..
"Ugh… maybe we should do something else? I'm a little scared of this thing."
Even though it felt a bit embarrassing, Tohka still turned her head and spoke to Miku Izayoi sitting next to her.
"Huh? Wait, what did you just say?"
Hearing that, Miku Izayoi looked at the trembling Tohka in disbelief. This girl had flown high through the sky and fought in a major battle that nearly destroyed New York, yet she was afraid of a roller coaster?
"Pfft."
But looking at Tohka's frightened expression, Miku Izayoi couldn't help but laugh. She had to admit, Tohka looked pretty cute right now. Then, she reached out and gently patted Tohka's head to comfort her.
"There, there. Don't be scared."
"Mm... I got it."
For some reason, Tohka suddenly felt really warm and calm. She wasn't scared anymore. But then she quickly realized—'Wait a second, what did I just do? What's happening to me?'
