-Lucien Draven:
The days passed as they always did. I read. I traced the patterns in the stone walls. I watched the clock.
And I waited.
Not because I was hungry. Not because I expected to feed. But because I knew they would come. They always did. And when the iron door groaned open, I didn't flinch or tense. Instead, I sat up a little straighter, my eyes immediately finding them.
The woman entered first, her auburn hair cascading over her shoulder as she carried a cloth-wrapped bundle in her arms. The man followed, his tall frame moving with easy confidence, his sharp gray eyes flicking around my room like they always did.
"You came to my room," I said, unable to keep the small smile from my lips.
The woman chuckled as she knelt, placing the bundle on my bed. "Of course we did, little prince."
The man smirked and leaned against the wall. "You say that like you were waiting for us."
