"In any case, with this, we've secured 10 points. Now there's only one match left," Noel said seriously.
"Although we haven't closed the gap with Team A, we've done well enough."
"...."
Mira smiled silently, while Gajeel, Juvia, and Laxus gave Noel strange looks, all three of them wearing expressions as if they wanted to laugh but were holding back.
"If you guys want to laugh, just go ahead," Noel said, his lips twitching.
"N-No, sorry, Noel, we really weren't trying to laugh... but... you just look... HAHAHA!"
Gajeel burst into laughter, clutching his stomach while rolling on the ground, pointing at the bright red handprint on Noel's face.
Meanwhile, Laxus and Juvia, after noticing Noel's increasingly dark expression, cast sympathetic glances at Gajeel.
Putting aside the impending act of violence about to unfold in Fairy Tail's Team B stands, the audience at the venue was far more focused on the upcoming match.
"For today's final match, we have Mermaid Heel's Kagura Mikazuchi versus Sabertooth's Yukino Agria. Another battle between two beautiful warriors!" Chapati announced excitedly.
From Sabertooth, a white-haired girl with a blue rose pinned to her hair stepped into the arena.
Opposing her, a black-haired girl carrying a long sword walked onto the field.
"The match won't include a photo shoot competition?" Yajima asked Chapati.
Chapati wiped the sweat from his forehead and replied, "Ah, well, while I personally wouldn't mind that..."
"A match between such cool warriors shouldn't go in that direction," Jason laughed.
Having just finished beating up Gajeel, Noel calmly watched the two competitors below and said, "Both of them have an impressive presence. If we want to surpass Team A, Sabertooth is an obstacle we have to overcome first. This match is worth watching seriously."
"If you were really thinking that way, there was no need to bruise Gajeel's eyes," Laxus retorted.
........
"Kagura's overwhelming strength is already well known to everyone. She is the strongest mage of Mermaid Heel and the most highly praised female mage in Sorcerer Weekly," Chapati began introducing the two combatants.
"Facing her today is Yukino, a first-time competitor, but a member of the strongest guild, Sabertooth. Just how powerful is she? We are filled with anticipation. Now, I declare—the match begins!"
"Please take care of me," Yukino of Sabertooth said politely, bowing to Kagura as soon as the bell rang instead of attacking immediately.
Kagura was momentarily surprised but still gave a slight nod in return. "…Likewise."
"Um… Just like in the previous matches, why don't we place a wager and turn this into a gamble?" Yukino suddenly suggested.
"My apologies, but I have no interest in such things," Kagura coldly rejected.
Yukino gazed at Kagura and asked, "Are you afraid of losing?"
Kagura closed her eyes and replied, "I harbor no such feelings. I simply believe that a wager must be built on a foundation of keeping one's promises, and such a frivolous diversion is unnecessary."
"Then how about a solemn bet?" Yukino said seriously.
"A wager… with our very lives on the line."
At those words, Kagura opened her sharp eyes, staring intently at the calm-faced Yukino.
The spectators, caught off guard by this unexpected development, murmured in shock.
"A move to restore Sabertooth's reputation and honor?" Noel raised an eyebrow.
"It's certainly a wise choice… but does she have the strength to back up that confidence?"
In the arena, the glint in Kagura's eyes gradually dimmed, but her expression grew even colder.
"If your resolve is sincere, then I must treat it with the respect it deserves. I accept this wager."
Hearing Kagura's confirmation, Yukino's expression turned serious as she pulled out a shining golden key.
"It is your misfortune to stand before Sabertooth. Open—Gate of Pisces, Pisces!"
"A Celestial Spirit Mage, just like Lucy!" Noel muttered in surprise upon witnessing this.
As Yukino called out, two massive fish—one black and one white—materialized out of thin air, opening their jaws to attack Kagura.
In response, Kagura simply leaped into the air, effortlessly dodging the strike.
"Open—Gate of Libra, Libra." Yukino showed no sign of disappointment after missing her first attack.
Instead, she immediately opened a second gate of the Twelve Zodiac Spirits.
A masked girl holding a set of scales appeared and cast a gravity spell on Kagura, restraining her movements.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, Pisces lunged at Kagura once more.
Boom!
Just as the attack was about to land, magic erupted from Kagura's body, breaking free from Libra's gravity binding.
With a swift backflip, she narrowly evaded Pisces' renewed assault.
Seeing this, Yukino furrowed her brows slightly and took out another key, whispering to herself, "Must I really open it? The Thirteenth Gate... How unfortunate."
Meanwhile, Kagura placed her hand on the hilt of her sword, her entire body shooting forward like an arrow released from a bow.
"From the moment of my birth, I have never relied on luck—every outcome has been a result of my own choices."
"Open—Gate of Ophiuchus, Ophiuchus." A colossal serpent materialized, its gaping maw lunging straight for Kagura.
"Every existence leads to its own future." Kagura's expression sharpened, but her speed did not falter in the slightest.
She charged directly toward Yukino, her long sword unsheathing—scabbard and all—as she declared, "Grudge Blade—Fearing No Heavens, the Form of the Sheathed Blade."
Boom!
An invisible slash flashed by as the two figures passed each other.
Kagura remained still in a crouched position, unmoving—while the massive serpent's body gradually crumbled and dissipated.
"T-That's impossible…" Yukino stood frozen in disbelief.
"What a cheap wager…" Kagura murmured.
Even a mermaid can devour a tiger.
"The…The match…is over! The winner—Mermaid Heel's Kagura Mikazuchi! Sabertooth finishes the second day with zero points!!!" Chapati shouted in shock.
"Was that Sabertooth woman just too weak, or was Kagura too strong?" Gajeel asked, frowning.
"It's the latter," Noel answered seriously.
"This Kagura… She's not someone to be underestimated."
As the battle concluded, Kagura turned away without hesitation.
On the ground, tears welled in Yukino's eyes as she choked out, "I…I lost… Sabertooth…"
"…Your life," Kagura spoke softly without looking back.
"For now, I will keep it in my care. Do you have any objections?"
"…No… Just as promised…"
"And with that, the second day of the Grand Magic Games comes to an end!"
Chapati declared, marking the conclusion of the day's events.
