Mia gave Kevin a grateful smile. If it weren't for his quick thinking, she wouldn't have known how to get rid of Quentin Rodriguez. Quentin had a relative in the education bureau and was rumored to be angling for the position of head of the English department. Mia didn't want to completely fall out with him unless necessary, as it wouldn't benefit her in any way.
Seeing Mia's alluring smile at him for the first time, Kevin felt his bones turn to jelly. He was immensely grateful to Quentin Rodriguez: with his appearance, Kevin would have had the chance to earn Mia's gratitude.
"Ms. Wilson, what happened to your shoe?" Kevin pointed to the high heel with a broken heel on the ground. "Would you like me to get it fixed for you?"
