There are still many people working in the Osborne Group on Sunday. As a multinational group, they cannot have a weekend off.
Because branches all over the world send various information every day, a lot of it requires judgment by the head office.
In order to meet the high-speed operation of this business empire, the Osborne Group building is, to a certain extent, open 24 hours a day throughout the year, and everyone works in shifts.
This is also one of the reasons why Jason did not want to infiltrate the Osborne Group's computers.
Peter and Jason came to the Osborne Group Building on Sunday with only one goal, which was to find out what disease the Osborne family had.
They were all Harry's friends and didn't want anything to happen to him.
Peter's girlfriend Gwen still works at the Osborne Group. Unlike Peter, who is a short-term intern, the Osborne Group has offered Gwen a long-term internship position.
And it comes with a salary. Although Dr. Connors left the Osborn Group and his whereabouts are currently unknown, Gwen still stayed.
She was assigned to other groups to do additional research work.
Today, Jason and his friend entered the Osborn Group under the pretext of visiting Gwen and Harry. Since they had greeted Harry before, they both received guest cards allowing entry at the front desk.
"Do you think we can do this? Will we go to jail if we are caught? They will charge us with industrial espionage or something." Peter muttered in a low voice as he walked beside Jason.
"Don't worry, I believe Uncle Norman won't do that for Harry's sake." Jason strode into the elevator going upstairs. There were no other passengers in the elevator now.
"Really?" Peter raised his eyebrows to show that he didn't quite believe it.
"I'm sure it's true, because Mr. Norman Osborn will rip your intestines out and hang you on the top of the tallest building in New York." Jason answered seriously.
"No, I don't think so. And if he really wants to rip out my intestines and hang me on the top of the tallest building in New York, I believe Mr. Tony Stark will definitely not allow him to do that." Peter also said seriously.
"Because Mr. Norman didn't pay for Stark Industries' cleaning bills."
The two of them came to the outside of the laboratory where Gwen was currently, telling various jokes in a serious manner.
"Hi Gwen." Jason was the first to greet Gwen.
"Hi Jason, hi Peter. How come you have time to come here?" Gwen asked the two with a smile in her lab robe.
"Oh~ Peter said he hadn't seen you for a long time. We originally planned to go fishing in Central Park, but because Peter missed you too much, he scared away all the fish." Jason lied with his eyes closed.
"Hey!" Peter bumped Jason's chest with his elbow.
"Oh, really? Someone didn't invite me out on a date recently. I thought he found a new girlfriend." There was a hint of annoyance in Gwen's tone.
"So, you see, I'm here now. Are you free after get off work? I want to treat you to dinner. I mean, if you're not busy." Because Peter has been playing the role of Spider-Man these days, he and Gwen always have no free time to interact.
This resulted in the two of them not meeting up for a date for nearly a week, and a girl in love doesn't like her boyfriend to disappear like this.
So Peter answered with a guilty conscience.
"Okay, since you invite me. But you have to do me a small favor first." Gwen pulled Peter towards the laboratory area.
"I know you have some talent in algorithms. My team now has a small problem that needs to be solved." Gwen took Peter into an office in the laboratory.
The name tag in the office read Gwen Stacy's name, and it looked like it was reserved for her.
"I just have a little talent? And you just said (your group)? And this office is yours?" Peter asked a series of questions as soon as he entered the office.
"Yes, big boy, do you have any opinion on what I just said?" Gwen said quite domineeringly.
Even Jason couldn't help but applaud the girl in his heart. Peter, you found a girlfriend who is so smart, so beautiful, and who is doing better than you. I really envy you, haha.
"No objection." This was the only answer Peter could give. However, being able to use the internal computers of the Osborne Group was part of the plan, so the plan was still going well for now.
"Gwen, when did you have your own independent office?" Jason diverted Gwen's attention and asked Peter to plug the signal transmitter into Gwen's computer interface.
"Oh, I have been assigned to this group since Dr. Connors left the Osborn Group. The new director appreciates me very much. He promoted me to the leader of an experimental group, so I have this office." There was a hint of pride in Gwen's tone.
Jason glanced at Peter and told him with his eyes, look at what your girlfriend is doing, and then look at what you are doing.
"Okay, I won't bother you two anymore. I'm going to go see Harry." Jason said and left to find Harry.
This is a backup plan. If the laboratory computer is not connected to the internal database, then it depends on whether Harry's computer is connected.
Because Harry is one of the people with the highest authority in this company, even though his father Norman Osborn has hidden many things from him, it still cannot change this.
"Harry, you look very busy. You even have to work on Sundays." Because he had already greeted his secretary, Jason walked into Harry's office smoothly.
"I'm just pretending to be busy because my father is back. There's actually not much I can manage. What would you like to drink?" Harry got up from his desk and walked to a bar in the office and asked.
"Any non-alcoholic drink will do." Jason said as he looked around Harry's large office.
"You can overlook the entire New York city from here." Jason said as he stood in front of the huge floor-to-ceiling glass window and looked at the New York scenery outside the window.
"That's about right. How about I make a non-alcoholic cocktail?" Harry said. "I learned this from a Hawaiian last time."
"I plan to give Mary a surprise on our next date, but I'm not very confident about the taste right now. Can you help me taste it?"
"Of course, but I doubt why something non-alcoholic can be called a cocktail." Jason expressed his confusion.
Jason pretended to be very interested and approached Harry's desk, pointing at a trophy on it and said, "Cool, the New York Outstanding Youth trophy, why haven't I heard you mention it before. When did you get it?"
"This is nothing to brag about, Jason. You know if your father was also named Norman Osborn, the organizing committee would find a way to give you this trophy."
"I wanted to throw it in the basement, but my dad thought it was at least an honor, so he put it on my desk." Harry didn't have much feeling about the trophy.
"Can I pick it up and take a closer look?" Jason pretended to be very interested in the trophy, but he was actually secretly inserting the signal transmitter hidden in his palm into Harry's computer.
"Try to look at it as much as you can. It would be best if you break it so that I can throw away this junk with a clear conscience." Harry did not seem to be very fond of the honor he had received under the protection of his father.
"Mr. Norman Osborn will be sad if you say that." Jason said jokingly, putting down the trophy in his hand.
"I just heard someone mentioned my name." The door of Harry's office was opened, and a handsome man in a suit and tie came in. It was Harry's father, Mr. Norman Osborn.
He originally had thick black hair, at least he still had it the last time Jason saw him.
However, it seemed that he had been severely tortured by his previous illness. His hair had turned a lot greyer, and even his wrinkles seemed to be a little more numerous.
But this still cannot conceal his demeanor, Mr. Norman Osborn is dignified and majestic, and his behavior is very educated.
He almost never gets angry at people because just a look from him can make his men tremble.
"Hello, Uncle Norman." Jason quickly greeted Norman and quietly moved to the side, which made Norman's eyes move with Jason and he did not notice Harry's computer.
"Hello Jason, I've wanted to meet you for a long time, but unfortunately the company is too busy." Norman smiled and patted Jason's shoulder, looking like a kind elder.
"You helped Harry in his most difficult time, and of course Peter. I am very grateful to you. You are all true friends of Harry."
"Jason, are you really not considering a career in management? I think I can hire you as Harry's special advisor. You have a special insight into the struggle for power."
"Look at my silly son. He only knows how to confront others head-on. This attitude will lead to big losses in business."
"The method you taught him last time to deal with the board of directors was correct. As long as I am alive, this company will still belong to Osborn." Norman Osborn's last words sounded very domineering.
"Oh no thanks, Uncle Norman. You know my ideal..." Jason was interrupted by Norman before he could finish his refusal.
"Being a chef, okay I know. But the door of the Osborne Group Building is always open to you, and I think Harry will need your help in the future." Norman frowned and glanced at Harry who was mixing drinks.
"At least being an award-winning chef is a lot better than mixing drinks in a nightclub."
"Hey, Dad!" Norman's words made Harry feel embarrassed, and he couldn't help but complain.
"You and your two friends really should learn more from Harry." Norman shook his head and said.
"Anyway, welcome here, Jason. Let's have lunch together at noon, and call Peter too. I have a meeting later, so I'll leave first. Goodbye, Jason." Norman said and left.
"Jason, I think you should consider what my father said just now. We can really work together, you, me and Peter. We will become the next Howard Stark and Obadiah Stane." Harry handed the prepared non-alcoholic cocktail to Jason.
"If you let your son recognize me as his godfather in the future, I will consider my godson." Jason answered insincerely, and even he forgot that he had not been baptized yet.
"When did you become a religious person? How come I didn't know?" Harry also wondered.
"Okay, forget about my stupid words just now. Your juice, oh, cocktail is really good." Jason's words were incoherent.
Because there is a shadow in his mind, about Norman Osborn, ever since he pushed the "Mahayana Seal" to perfection.
Especially after he exchanged for the "Ten Stages of Mahayana Practice", which is also a Buddhist practice, his spiritual perception became stronger and stronger.
This is a kind of spiritual power. Both martial arts can sense the fluctuations of evil energy.
Especially after such a long period of integration, this feeling has become more and more sensitive. Although it cannot be quantified, there is an inexplicable intuition.
For example, when Jason captured the vampire for experimentation, he felt the evil energy from the vampire, which was mixed and filled with filth and blood.
Just now, Norman Osborn discovered a power that made him feel very uncomfortable.
Although Norman concealed it well, when he said in a domineering manner that this company was still Osborn, a terrible energy emanated from him that he could not help but exude.
This was not a destructive ability, and was quickly suppressed by Norman. But Jason still felt it clearly, this was a purer power.
It is not comparable to the turbid and bloody energy of vampires. This energy is closer to the purest death and destruction.
For a moment, Jason almost felt like he was falling into hell, but the spiritual power in his mind quickly pulled him back.
He didn't know whether this power was effective on ordinary people or only on people with spiritual powers.
He was not sure whether Norman Osborn had discovered his abnormality, because Uncle Norman was not one of those stupid villains who could only fight head-on.
He would always keep himself hidden, just as he did in business, only dealing a fatal blow to his enemies when necessary.
Now it seems that Norman is fine and has not found any problems. He even smiles and invites himself and Peter to have lunch, but Jason now feels that the clothes on his back are wet with cold sweat.
It looks like things aren't that simple for Norman Osborn!
