A ruler is either feared or forgotten..there is no in between
"Oh... they actually sent a persistent one".
The once pristine corridors once lined with neatly placed potted plants were in total disarray.
On the frist end haruki stood, his usually summer dress shirt torn as he stood up wright, calm.
Deep gashes and cuts scored the wall doors and the floors, the potted plants laid shattered, the wall and doors were riddled with scars, and haruki stood there untouched.
On the Other hand the robed figure panted. clutching the massive blade in her hand that dwarfed her petite frame.
"You..."
She gritted, her hood had completely fallen, reveling a face that would have said to have been caved from stone by saints.
Deep emerald green eyes as her silver hair cascaded down her shoulders. Her petite figure. She steadied herself with her massive sword the blade towering over her.
The old man sighed..., "Young lady" he began, gesturing lazily at the wreakage.
"if you had put the time you used to beautify your face to actually train.." he paused pointing at her.
"Who knows.., Maybe one of these attacks might have actually hit me."
The green haired gritted her teeth, her grip around the gigantic blade tighter, her emerald eyes stared to the other end of the room, at Haruki.
"You..."
Her cold eyes meat the old man's cocky grin.
"Please come..." he announced,
"I won't try to hit you, if your attacks can hit me once"
" I'll truly acknowledge you as my equal ".
Haruki looked out the window, and only blackness was seen outside.
"It's pointless..." she grinned.
"My antique has the power to separate realities...", her grin wider as Haruki's confused gazed deepened.
"Right now?, you... are no longer in the hospital..." her eyes glowed with an ominous glint as her grin widened.
"Huh..?" Haruki raised a brow.
"You are in my domain.." her grin twisted to that of a maniac.
The moment her blade struck the ground a pulse echoed like the drum beat from the abyss.
"In this domain I am absolute".
The corridor shattered like fragile glass, tiles unmoored and twisted in mid air as if gravity itself followed the will of her blade.
Some of the broken potted plant hovered around her the soil debris fell upwards. Not down... but up.
Haruki Serene gaze cracked a bit then a smile crept on his face.
The air thickened, the white walls shifted, like rippled on ink.
Haruki's feet barely held to the floor as it spun sideways....
Then upsidedown.
Then vanished entirely beneath him, a hallway with no ground, just floating debris and spiralling stone slabs surrounded him.
"Fall" she whispered.
Gravity obeyed her command as Haruki's body stretched, gravity pulled his body in all six directions at once, blades of fractured glass and splinter of steel hovered around her like satellites.
The huge blade in her hand seem to distort as it shattered into hundreds of pieces.
The blade fragments blasted towards the old man who was hung like a science experiment with deadly precision.
Haruki hung like, a fly caught in a spider web as the projectile zoomed towards him. A the wall tightened trapping him like butter in a sandwich as the mirage of blades went his way.
Haruki locked in, his figure disappearing from where it was a second ago in a burst of flames, he stood atop one of the broken concretes hovering in the air.
"Wow, you're antique is quite the hassle..."
He looked around as the black void had expanded and the hospital now felt like fragments not meant to exist there in the frist place.
"You cannot out maneuver my domain", the green haired girl figure blinked from one floating slab to another her voice echoed from all directions.
"You breath because I permit it..",
Haruki stood on a broken slab, he looking at the figure of the robed beauty in the distance.
"40 minutes left" he whispered.
The mirage of silver blades swirled, forming a dome around him...
"He looked up as the blades launched in unison".
*****
Zach darted though the empty stairways, bare foot, as the walls around him began to hum, like a giant beast breathing in it's sleep.
He really didn't know what was happening above but he had seen enough of the cracks in the air in the upper floor to know one thing.
Everyone needed to get out now*.
Zach secretly prayed that it was not a rift opening on the tenth floor, butif it was, then everyone had to get out now...
And fast..
He burst open onto the fourth floor landing, heart pounding, he voice raw as he screamed.
"EVERYONE GET OUT!!!!!"
Zach's voice broke the silence in the halls, only a few people's heads peeked from the doors.
Zach could not find a better option, he could just do the frist thing that came to his mind.
Scream as loud as you can.*
People's confused faces blinked sleepily, confused.
Zach waisted no time slamming the door open, Grabbing a nurse by the hand.
"Evacuate!!!" , he shouted "the building is not safe.., there's some kind of rift opening upstairs carry all the patients."
Zach's frantic voice made the nurse raise a brow.
Panic began to ripple.
Zach sprung into the hallways, yanking every room he passed by open yelling at the top of his lungs.
"FIRE, MOVEOUT, DROP EVERYTHING AND LEAVE"
if this was really a rift opening, and Haruki somehow new about it, then everywhere is about to get bloody real fast.
He had to explore any means to get this people to safety, some of the nurses began escorting some patients out.
The nurses were responsive, instantly ringing the fire alarm for the hospital as an evacuate sequence started.
BWANNNNG!! BWANNNNG!!
The shrill alarm exploded through the building like a war cry, strode lights blinked red in sync with the noise casting chaotic flashing across the hallways.
The patients walked slowly escorted by the nurses to a nearby elevator, but Zach took the stairs.
Zach tread the staircase two steps at a time, moving down, then up again to make sure those that were on the other floors moved.
Ambulance wailed in the distance, the energy readers of the hospital went in frantic blaring.
"What going on..?" one of the doctors walked towards the exit hold a patient with care. "One of the nurse escorted him holding the patients drip.
"The energy signals are off the charts, it may even be an Omega level rift.." She spoke.
"Right here.?, in a hospital?"
"But the hospital began evacuating even before the energy reading spiked.." the doc's brow furrowed
"Yeah.. that because we were warned early..." the nurse said.
"Warned?"
****
Zach with haste helped some of the patients reach the ground floor.
As he rounded up the fifth floor.. he caught something through a shattered window.
This space bended, like a conceptual entity try to surface into the real world with brute strength.
"That is almost all of them..." he sighed
"Haruki..what the hell you're doing up there."
He clenched his fist running at the source.
"You'd better finish it before this place gets swallowed whole"
