Chapter 95 - the peak of a cloud

Hearing Qin Xi's words, Yang Chen understood—she had finally awakened.

Since that was the case, he could finally act without restraint.

"Don't worry, I won't do anything illegal," Yang Chen said seriously.

Then, glancing at the partially demolished two-story house, he took out a key and handed it to Qin Xi.

"This place isn't safe to live in anymore. You and Xiao Yi should skip work today, pack some essentials, and move in with me."

Just as Qin Xi was about to refuse, Yang Chen added, "We're husband and wife. There's no need to stand on ceremony. Do it for Xiao Xiao's sake."

This time, Qin Xi didn't refuse.

Yang Chen drove off in the Phaeton, leaving the Qin family courtyard behind.

"Sis, did Brother-in-law just tell us to move? He already bought a house?" Qin Yi asked, puzzled.

Qin Xi nodded. "Let's not cause him any more trouble. Pack your things, and we'll move in with him."

When Zhou Yucui heard Qin Xi mention moving, she exploded.

"We've lived here our whole lives! How can we just move? And to *Yang Chen's* place? What kind of house could that loser even afford? If you want to go, go! I'm staying!"

Qin Xi sighed. "Fine. If you won't come, we won't force you. Xiao Yi, let's pack. Yang Chen's villa has everything. Just bring some clothes."

"Brother-in-law bought a *villa*?!" Qin Yi's eyes lit up.

Qin Xi nodded. "A big one. It's fully furnished. Just bring essentials and clothes. Nothing else is needed."

"Got it! I'll pack now!" Qin Yi said excitedly.

While the sisters talked, Zhou Yucui eavesdropped.

She had been dead set against moving—until she heard the word *villa*.

Her face instantly brightened with greed.

Before the sisters could even step into their rooms, Zhou Yucui had already rushed back to hers.

Since Qin Xi had been to Cloud Summit Heights before, she knew exactly what to expect.

She only packed clothes for herself and Xiao Xiao—a single suitcase.

Qin Yi didn't have much to pack either.

By the time the sisters finished and returned to the living room, Zhou Yucui was already waiting with *two* massive suitcases.

"Mom, why did *you* pack? Planning to stay with relatives?" Qin Yi mocked.

Zhou Yucui didn't even blush. She smiled. "You're my only daughters. Where you go, I go!"

The Maserati's trunk couldn't fit everything.

In the end, Zhou Yucui's two suitcases had to be squeezed into the back seat.

Qin Yi drove toward Cloud Summit Heights.

"Sis, don't tell me Brother-in-law's villa is in *Cloudwater Estates*?" Qin Yi grew more shocked as they followed Qin Xi's directions.

"Just keep driving. You'll see," Qin Xi replied.

Zhou Yucui scoffed. "Cloudwater Estates is the most exclusive villa district in Jiangzhou! Even the Four Great Families live there. How could that loser afford a villa there?"

Qin Xi frowned. "Could you *stop* calling him that? You have no idea who he really is."

Qin Yi added, "You saw how he dealt with Qin Fei today. Everyone has a limit. If you keep insulting him, don't cry when he kicks you out one day."

"How dare you speak to me like that?! I'm still your mother! You'd side with an outsider over me? What kind of daughters are you?!" Zhou Yucui snapped.

"I've never seen a mother like you!" Qin Yi shot back.

Ever since the incident at Su's Restaurant—where Qin Yi defended Zhou Yucui by slapping Wang Luyao, only for Zhou Yucui to demand Qin Yi *kneel and apologize*—Qin Yi's heart had been broken.

"You little—! Want me to slap you?!" Zhou Yucui roared.

"*Enough!*" Qin Xi's anger flared. She turned to Zhou Yucui.

"Mom, let me make this clear. If you keep targeting Yang Chen, you're better off staying in the old house."

Qin Xi's eyes were icy.

Zhou Yucui opened her mouth to retort but froze under her daughter's glare.

Huffing, she turned to stare out the window.

"Sis… is Brother-in-law's house *really* in Cloudwater Estates?"

When Qin Yi drove through the gates, her jaw dropped.

The security guard, seeing an unfamiliar license plate, moved to stop them—until he spotted Qin Xi in the passenger seat.

His eyes widened. He snapped to attention and saluted.

Cloudwater Estates wasn't large. Its residents were Jiangzhou's elite.

The guards had memorized every homeowner's details.

They knew Qin Xi was the lady of Cloud Summit Heights.

Zhou Yucui's eyes gleamed as she rolled down the window, gawking at the luxurious villas.

This was her first time in such an opulent neighborhood.

Though shocked, Qin Yi quickly steadied herself.

After all, Yang Chen's power and mystery made anything possible.

"Which villa is Brother-in-law's? We're almost out of road," Qin Yi asked, confused.

"Just keep going straight. We're almost there," Qin Xi said.

"*Huh?*"

Qin Yi was baffled. Ahead lay the road up Cloud Summit Mountain—and it was deserted.

"Xiao Xi, you must be mistaken. Up ahead is Cloud Summit Mountain. A month ago, there was huge news—the villa at the peak, Cloud Summit Heights, was bought by a mysterious tycoon."

Zhou Yucui chimed in, "I heard the private road up the mountain stretches three kilometers, reserved *only* for Cloud Summit Heights. No outsiders are allowed."

"Rumor has it, some rich kid tried driving up there half a month ago. The guards broke both his legs. His family was furious—until they found out he'd trespassed near Cloud Summit Heights. They didn't dare make a peep after that."

"*SQUEAK!*"

Qin Yi slammed the brakes (thankfully, they were moving slowly).

"Beyond this is the road to Cloud Summit Heights," she said nervously. "Sis, you *must* be mistaken."

"Cloud Summit Heights *is* Yang Chen's villa. Just drive," Qin Xi said flatly.

"Xiao Xi, since when do you joke like this? Even the Four Great Families aren't qualified to live at Cloud Summit Heights, and you're saying it's that *loser's* villa? Impossible!" Zhou Yucui sneered.

Qin Yi, however, fell silent.

Her heart pounded.

She knew her sister *never* joked.

Which meant…

Cloud Summit Heights *really* was Yang Chen's home.

"Drive," Qin Xi said simply.

Qin Yi wordlessly restarted the car and continued up the mountain.
