Chapter 111 - Chapter 111: The Contract

That azure light, though quite far from Lynn, sent ripples that reached his location.

He could sense his mental domain reacting excitedly to its presence.

Most notably, his Seed of Life seemed to be rejoicing, like a flower blossoming under the spring sun.

A unique fluctuation surged within his spiritual domain, making his spirit tremble.

Lynn understood his Seed of Life had entered its second stage.

The second and third stages of the Seed of Life were precisely the phases that could be accelerated by external forces!

"This is truly a treasure..."

Lynn's gaze burned with intensity as he stared at the azure light. To say he had no interest in it would be a lie.

Yet, he also knew that if the natural wizard wielding that light was truly an otherworldly being, then he stood no chance against them.

Even the powerful wizard who had appeared earlier was unable to match it let alone himself, a mere novice not yet a full-fledged wizard.

"So that's how it is..."

At that moment, the fragmented voice echoed once more in Lynn's ears, making him narrow his eyes slightly.

The Seed of Life had been affected by the azure light and had gained some kind of enhancement.

Likewise, the extraordinary tree seemingly a maple tree had also received similar benefits, allowing it to sense a wider area.

"No wonder... You refused to cooperate with me earlier… So there was a law enforcer wizard present after all..."

The maple tree's voice carried a hint of resignation as if it found the situation complicated.

"A law enforcer wizard..."

Lynn's heart stirred as he made sure to memorize the distinct starry robe worn by the wizard.

But at this moment, the situation was rapidly shifting.

Ever since the extraordinary wizard revealed the azure light, everything had turned upside down.

Lynn could sense that the law enforcer wizard had switched from offense to defense.

From his shocked and troubled expression, it was clear that he wouldn't be able to hold out for much longer...

"Little one… If you don't want to be trapped here by an otherworldly being as well… perhaps we should reconsider our cooperation?"

The maple tree's voice drifted over again, making Lynn frown slightly.

Earlier, he had chosen to remain passive because everything was still under control the wizard who had descended from the sky was capable of suppressing the entire battlefield.

But now, with the natural wizard unleashing the azure light, the balance of power had completely shifted it was unclear who truly had control.

Lynn knew that without the Golden Balance's protection, forming a deal with this maple tree could be risky.

However, with the Golden Balance as a safeguard, cooperation could indeed be considered.

"What do you propose?" Lynn asked coldly, his tone cautious.

He understood that if the otherworldly being defeated the law-enforcer wizard, then no one within this space would survive.

"We… can use the power of the Golden Balance to forge a contract..."

The maple tree's deep voice came with a sense of urgency.

Lynn's gaze swept once more toward the battlefield the natural wizard's presence was growing even stronger, while the law enforcer wizard was struggling more and more, on the verge of collapse.

There was no more time to hesitate Lynn swiftly strode toward the Golden Balance.

As he approached, he realized that the balance in front of him was no longer a mere projection but a tangible physical object.

It radiated a solemn golden light, engraved with unique inscriptions and equipped with adjustment levers.

This reassured Lynn somewhat this was the real Golden Balance.

"Just use the balance to construct the contract and pull me into it..."

The maple tree's voice rang out again it could not directly touch the balance.

Lynn nodded slightly. With a thought, he extended his spiritual energy and adjusted the contract intensity to tenfold.

With that step completed, he began drafting the contract based on the maple tree's suggestions.

Time was of the essence, so the terms were simple, centering around the core principle of "no harm to either party."

Once confirmed, Lynn took a deep breath and recited an ancient incantation, activating the Golden Balance.

In an instant, a brilliant golden light erupted the balance's power surged like an overwhelming tide, pulling the will of the maple tree into it.

However, at that very moment, the natural wizard who had been battling the law enforcer suddenly stopped.

For the first time, his cold, merciless gaze showed a flicker of change, and he raised his head, as if sensing something.

Had Lynn still been watching the battlefield, he would have realized that the natural wizard's gaze had locked directly onto his own.

Yet at this critical juncture, Lynn was fully focused on sealing the contract with the maple tree, unaware of the outside world's developments.

The Golden Balance floated in midair. On one side was Lynn, and on the other was the projected will of the maple tree.

"With the great existence above the vast civilizations by the Golden Balance as our witness, our contract is hereby forged. Once the balance reaches equilibrium and both parties have paid an equal price, the contract shall take effect!"

The maple tree's voice carried solemnity and reverence, as if it was even more familiar with this mysterious balance than Lynn himself.

This realization made Lynn slightly wary, fearing that the tree might notice his subtle maneuvering.

Yet after observing for a while, he saw no abnormal reaction from the tree and was slightly relieved.

"I shall abide by all terms of the contract, as if it were bound to my very soul, never to be violated!"

However, right after the maple tree solemnly declared this vow, its voice suddenly paused, revealing a hint of surprise.

It realized the balance had not yet settled.

The side of the balance holding the maple tree was still raised high as if its offered value was far from sufficient.

"Impossible… The Golden Balance never makes mistakes! Could it be that my offering is still lacking?"

The maple trees will falter in confusion. Though it sensed something was off, there was no time to dwell on it. Gritting its teeth, it increased its offer.

"In addition to the previous terms, I shall grant all my knowledge on the wizard apprentice stage..."

The maple tree knew that Lynn had yet to become a full-fledged wizard, so it specifically included this benefit.

Yet, even with this addition, the balance barely moved, remaining uneven.

The maple tree grew anxious, its tone tinged with frustration:

"Fine! I shall also offer my knowledge on the extraordinary arts of a First-Rank Wizard..."

As soon as these words fell, the balance's tilt improved slightly but still, it did not fully settle.

"This kid..."
