Chapter 41 - Chapter 41: Slaughter

Chapter 41: Slaughter

Yang Bo actually forced himself to charge into these guys because there were twenty mechs, all equipped with long-range weapons. How could he run?

If there were no troops outside and no ground-to-air fighters, Yang Bo would have fled immediately. But now, if he went out, he'd probably have to step out of the mech and face the consequences.

After all, he was dressed as a Black Armor Knight and had already disabled three mechs. Yang Bo then realized that none of these mechs seemed to be equipped with close-combat weapons?

That made sense. With so many genetically enhanced beings on-site, if he carried close combat weapons, others would scatter in panic. What then?

Yang Bo activated the automatic defense mode on his left-hand energy shield. By the time he had disabled three mechs, others had already risen to their feet.

Why use the term "climbing back up"? Because earlier, those twenty mechs had all fallen to the ground like bowling pins.

Invisible high-energy particle beams struck the energy shield on the mech's left hand, causing colorful halos to appear on the shield.

The mech leaped into the air, performing a jumping slash that not only caused the other mechs' ranged weapons to miss but also sliced the most threatening remaining mech in half with a single stroke.

As for why Yang Bo was so skilled in mech close combat, it was naturally honed through gameplay.

"This plasma blade made of energy metal is truly powerful," Yang Bo remarked as he observed the mech split in two. The plasma blade in his hand, crafted by Dimension Corporation using energy metal, possessed formidable power. Previously, Yang Bo had assumed Dimension Corporation had exaggerated its capabilities.

The mech's own assessment system evaluates the danger level of enemy mechs. Yang Bo landed with a jump slash, and inside the cockpit, he could see the mech's left hand holding an energy shield, constantly swaying to block the high-frequency laser gun's shots.

Yang Bo's hand left a trail of afterimages inside the cockpit. This area had a powerful shielding system, so manual control was required.

Countless people watched as Yang Bo's jumping slash split the enemy mecha in two, feeling a chill run from their heads to their lower bodies, as if they themselves had been split in two, accompanied by a sudden urge to urinate.

The split mecha was covered in blood, which had spilled over the mecha's remains.

Then everyone saw the Blade Mech's rocket pack activate simultaneously, propelling the entire mech forward as it lunged toward another mech in an instant.

The opponent's pure black mech dodged with a swift movement, but was instantly sliced in half by a five-meter-long plasma blade.

  "A master!"

"Arc-shaped charge—this tactical maneuver is easiest to confuse the enemy."

"Top-tier mecha pilot—no doubt about it."

"Looking at the ground marks, the arc-shaped charge primarily relies on controlling the movement with both feet after the charge, using one foot to exert force and alter the mecha's trajectory."

"At such close range, the operational difficulty is extremely high. The Dome Entertainment City has activated its ultra-strong shielding, and aside from the live stream signal channel left by the Red Earl, everyone else is unreachable. At this point, the mecha pilot's control inside the mecha relies entirely on reaction speed." Those who witnessed this scene began to discuss it among themselves.

Of course, there were also many innocent bystanders present. Since the mechs' fire missed Yang Bo, they ended up hitting the innocent bystanders instead.

"Quick, shoot it!"

"Useless! Aim properly—you hit me!"

"I'm not familiar with this high-frequency laser cannon. It's a new product."

  "Fire together."

The enemy mechs were shouting loudly, creating a chaotic atmosphere, as if there was no command structure.

What Yang Bo didn't know was that an extremist organization would never delegate command authority to others, and the commander wouldn't have expected his own people to turn against him.

So, out of desperation, these extremist organization members piloted their mechs and openly shouted orders.

However, since their group combat training was poor, it was better to fight alone. After all, unreliable teammates were the most dangerous, and the mechs they had seized were all new weapons from an exhibition, so they hadn't been trained to use them properly.

Moreover, mecha combat relies on long-range weapons, much like snipers in the military, requiring specialized genetic evolution to effectively hit high-speed moving enemy mecha.

These individuals were unfamiliar with the weapons, lacked unified command, and their genetic evolution may not have been tailored for long-range fire support, significantly reducing the threat they posed to Yang Bo.

Yang Bo noticed something was off again—the information flow was wrong.

"Why are they all repairing warships? Could it be that these guys aren't skilled at mecha piloting?" Yang Bo knew that the ability he randomly obtained was the strongest ability of each person. After killing so many people, not a single one was a mecha pilot?

Though it seemed like a long time, from the moment Yang Bo killed the silver-armored knight to crippling five mechs, it had been less than ten seconds. After slaying the black mech, Yang Bo didn't slow down. Using the instant acceleration of his flight pack, he executed another leap slash, dodging the various weapon attacks from over a dozen other mechs, mostly high-frequency laser cannons and particle guns.

The destructive power of high-frequency laser cannons is devastating to individuals, but they pose insufficient threat to mechs.

Moreover, Yang Bo's mech was crafted from energy metal used by the Dimension Company, meaning the mech's materials inherently contain energy. The modified batteries supplying energy to the mech enhance its defensive capabilities.

Yang Bo couldn't count how many mechs the enemy had left, as their firepower was intense, causing constant warning sounds in the cockpit of Yang Bo's mech and frequent flashes from the energy shield on his left hand.

  Leap slash, charge slash!

In the end, Yang Bo found himself chasing after a dozen mechs, which were darting around chaotically. One mech flew into the air, only to be struck by Yang Bo's Skyward Slash. There was no choice; the altitude was too limited here.

On the ground, since they couldn't communicate with each other, they even ended up hitting each other and colliding with one another.

Suddenly, a large hole appeared in the massive dome, and countless dome fragments fell down.

"Run!" Yang Bo had been keeping an eye on the outside. When the dome broke open, he jolted awake and hurriedly fled.

Many genetically enhanced individuals saw the dome breach and transformed into streaks of light, rushing toward the hole—some even bringing their families along.

Among them, the so-called chairman was carried away by two burly men.

Yang Bo executed a charge slash, killing another mech, then leaped, with the mech's massive foot crushing the second mech he had disabled. This mech's legs had been severed, rendering it unable to control itself—not even opening the hatch was possible, as the control center had been largely destroyed. It could only watch helplessly as the massive mech's foot descended from the sky.

Another mecha with its shoulder severed kept twitching, completely out of control, as Yang Bo sliced open its cockpit with a single stroke.

At that moment, the dome shattered again, this time revealing an air-space fighter.

Yang Bo approached the stage basement, then darted inside and quickly stripped off his clothes inside the mecha.

In the stage basement, several people were gathered around Li Aiduo. One of them, an ordinary-looking middle-aged man with a swollen hand, was watching the distance warily.

Yang Bo wasn't very familiar with the basement either. After entering, he realized it was quite large. He whistled once and got a general sense of the surrounding structure.

On Li Aiduo's side, the middle-aged man heard the mecha's sound disappear and sighed in relief.

Yang Bo watched himself become invisible after exiting the mecha and felt overjoyed.

Earlier, when Yang Bo had brought out the mecha on stage, he had been inside the cockpit. This time, after retrieving the mecha into the alternate dimension, he hadn't opened the cockpit—he had simply become invisible and landed, with the mecha also entering the alternate dimension. This way, others wouldn't be able to see him when he retrieved or stored the mecha in the future.

As for the black armor suit he had taken from someone else, he placed it inside the mecha's cockpit and then stored it along with the mecha in the alternate dimension. This was because Yang Bo wasn't certain whether the armor contained his DNA.

The invisible Yang Bo followed the sonar detection images from earlier and successfully made his way to the stands. By this point, several aerial combat aircraft were already flying over the dome concert venue. The mechs that hadn't been destroyed by Yang Bo had been blown up, and some unfortunate spectators were caught in the blast from the destroyed mechs.
