Adrianna's Pov.
I woke up feeling special for some reason I don't know, but I am very happy because today is my birthday, I got up from bed, took my bath, and I was about coming out of my room when my best friend came in.
Lyria: Good morning my princess.
Well she is my maid, but I didn't consider her that way, because she has been my maid since when I was 5 years old, and now I am turning 23, well she is my only friend, since I grew up in the palace, I wasn't allowed to go out of the palace, or play with other kids in the palace because I am my parents only daughter, so I was overly protected.
When lyria came in, she was not happy and she didn't wish me a happy birthday, usually she will sing a birthday song for me, and give me a present, but today was some how different.
Lyria: Your father wants you in the throne room, he says he has a special announcement to make, and he needs your presence urgently.
Adrianna: What is the problem with you today, aren't you forgetting something?
Lyria: What am I forgetting?
Adrianna: My Birthday, today is my birthday.
Lyria: oh I am so sorry, happy birthday my princess (faking a smile).
Adrianna: Are u okay, is there a problem?
Lyria: Uhm, No, there is no problem, the king just needs your presence.
Adrianna's Pov.
I was surprised at her reaction, I knew something is definitely wrong, so I have to find out myself.
As I walked towards the throne room, my mind was filled with so many thoughts, and why were all the guards looking at me with a sad expression on their faces , I just ingnored them and continued walking.
I step into the throne room, it was filled with people, I looked everywhere and my eyes landed on someone, my mother, the expression on her face made me more worried, she was sad and the she laid her eyes on me it was full of pity and sadness, I didn't realize she was crying, until she wiped the tears they was about falling. My father motioned me to sit beside him.
King Alexander: It is a very special day for everyone here, most especially for my daughter. Today my beloved daughter is turning 23 and today is the day she is getting engaged to the king of Seth, Lord Divien, for the alliance of the two kingdom, the kingdom of Seth and the kingdom of Moheb, the marriage will be held next tomorrow in this palace.
Adrianna's Pov.
My father's announcement, left me in tears, my mother tried all she could to calm me down but all to no avail . It seemed all her effort was useless.
Kella: My daughter, I am so sorry for everything, I didn't know about it until yesterday, your father made me promise not to tell you. We weren't meant to disclose this on your birthday, I know it is heart breaking, I wish I could take all your sorrows away but I can't.
Adrianna: why is dad so heartless, what did I ever do to him, to make him ruin my life.
Kella: Your father loves you darling, he just wants the best for his kingdom.
Adrianna: He values his kingdom more than his own daughter.
Kella: No, my dear, he also wants the best for you.
Adrianna: Best for me , really, is getting me engaged to a beast the best for me?
Kella: I'm sorry, on his behalf.
Adrianna: Mom I want to rest, please could you excuse me?
Kella: Okay dear, just try not to cry too much and get some sleep (leaving the room).
