'MOONLIT PETALS."
The board above the floral shop shined brightly in the crisp morning light. The aroma of fresh flowers spread through the shop. Birds were chirping outside the shop. It was kind of flower shop you'd see in a movie. People were passing by the shop, heading for their daily work. That's when a young man entered the shop.
"Excuse me?" He called.
"Welcome sir!" A woman in her mid 20's turned around. She had black slick hair with brown honey like eyes which shimmered when the bright sunlight touched her clear skin. She had a welcoming smile.
"Uhm actually I wanted a bouquet of fresh red roses by evening. Is that possible?" He asked politely. The woman nodded smiling professionally.
"Here are the samples we prepared earlier, sir. You can take a look at them and if you want to get a custom one we can also do that. " She said showing him the designs in the ipad.
He was taking a look at all of them. After sometime he selected one design.
"And sir do you want any card inside it with any kind of message?" A faint blush appeared on his cheeks, a mix of nervousness and excitement. "Actually I am proposing to the love of my life today. So yeah write 'To emma, who is a light to my darkness.' and this is the address. Please send it here" he said forwarding a card.
"Thank you sir, visit again...and I hope she says yes" the woman said smiling warmly.
The man chuckled scrapping his neck," I hope so too. Thanks" he said going out of the shop.
She started preparing the bouquet by herself. Being engrossed she didn't noticed when a young girl in her teenage years entered the shop.
"Hey selena!" The young girl said removing her coat and wearing the apron. "What you doing there?"
"How come you're here in the morning? You have school right ruby?" Selena asked while watering the roses.
"Ahh boss..it's Christmas holiday! Thought I'd accompany you." She answered removing the withered flowers from the shelves. "But ruby, you should celebrate this vacation with your family, you have evening shift anyway!" Selena said with caring voice.
"My dear boss, my mom had to go her aunt's place because of emergency and for my dad...." her voice dropped to a near whisper, the playful tone vanishing...it's better if I don't talk about him," she said, the last part sounding like the least subject she wanted to bring up. Selena's gaze softened, a silent acknowledgment of Ruby's unspoken pain.
"And anyway I get bored easily...and homework is not my thing..so thought why not spend the day with a beautiful lady?" She said winking at selena.
"Okok my dedicated teenager." Selena chuckled squeezing her cheeks. "I am not a baby, Sely!" Ruby said pouting cutely. Selena awed at her pout. "Should I order some coffee and...our ruby's favourite chocolate waffles?" She said smiling brightly.
"You're the only one who knows me boss" she said hugging her tightly. "And the winters in Boston area no joke, so steaming hot coffees for hot babes." Ruby said dramatically.
After their delicious breakfast, the ladies returned to their tasks as a steady stream of customers began to arrive.
Meanwhile In another place in Boston
A towering skyscraper, its glass facade reflecting the glittering city lights, stood in the heart of famous Boston. A sleek, black limousine purred softly as it came to a stop outside the building. The driver, efficient and professional, quickly came out and opened the rear door for his boss.
A figure emerged, clad in a perfectly tailored, midnight-black tuxedo. The crisp lines of his ironed tuxedo accentuated his lean frame. His piercing blue eyes, cold as glacial ice, scanned the surroundings. He stepped out of the limousine, his presence commanding attention. His gaze swept over the building, a silent declaration of ownership.
His manager came and stood beside him. "Good morning sir," he said professionally. The man just nodded at him.
"Elsen industries" that was the first word the man uttered. He said the company's name while looking at the building with his usual cold but fiery eyes.
He entered the company without looking at anyone. The employees stood immediately and bowed, their eyes lowered, until he disappeared into the lift. His secretary Mr.Graham went behind him, with his professional look too.
Elvin went towards his cabin which was on the top floor. After getting out of the lift Mr.Graham went first and opened the door for elvin.
"Founder and CEO of Elsen industries" the board shone brightly at his cabin door. He went inside and sat on his chair.
The cabin's all black decor hinted at the darkness in his life. The furniture was imported and expensive. Everything in the room screamed power.
"Sir, you should have taken some rest.. as you just came here from new York yesterday night. " Mr.Graham said with calm voice. He looked up with a emotionless stare and snickered.
"Rest for my body....and what for my mind? And I don't have time for this resting shit. And anyway after doing a great business in new york I wanted to focus on other branches too..and Boston.." he said taking a pause..."is quite interesting." He smirked a little.
Mr.Graham nodded. "Elsen isn't made for rest," Elvin said touching the company's name plate.
"El..sen" he said tracing his fingers on the name plate with a look in his eyes no one could decipher.
"Sir, here is the schedule for today," his secretary said and his daily routine began.
