Chapter 43 - Planet Umbrae - Day 4 Part 3

[Log 208,758] {Sil} Finally! Your stupid log lock can't keep me locked out anymore!

{Sil} Anyways, I found out that I apparently needed a new part for my ship since the old one was about to explode.

{Logan} My parts should have lasted you a long time, Sil. I make sure they can last up to several hundred years if taken care of.

{Sil} You know I get attacked on the regular Logan, and you also know I am crap at fixing my ship. You honestly should've realized this sooner.

{Logan} I am aware. I am simply stating the facts.

{Vicky} Someone's salty.

{Sil} Anyways, I found out that there's a planet nearby where I can get a replacement. Looks like you're getting replaced.

{Logan} If you continue acting that way, then I am not sending you any more code fixes. Your ship can crumble.

{Sil} I would like to apologize for my earlier behavior, if there is anything I can do to make up for my inexcusable actions, I would like to hear it.

{Logan} I will hold you to this favor later.

{Sil} …Please don't make me do anything embarrassing.

{Logan} When the time comes, I am going to 'cash in' this favor.

{Sil} …fucccckkkkk.

Sil was typing away at his logs while waiting for his ship to arrive at his destination, however, he regretted it and wished he just stayed silent. He closed the logs, and looked at the planet ahead in his cockpit.

The planet was a dull green color that had a sort of thick smog to the atmosphere, preventing him from seeing any discernible land masses. Orbiting it were 3 moons, all a different shade of blue.

Using the telepathy skill, he sent a message to his clone to ask Swinn something real quick.

In the kitchen, Swinn was hard at work repairing the appliances, his tongue stuck out a little focusing on the task at hand.

"Is this the right planet?" Towel suddenly spoke after not saying anything, which startled Swinn.

"ACK—!" Swinn bumped his head on the cabinet above the replicator. Rubbing where he hit himself, he looked towards the clone, "What? A planet?"

Towel then telepathically projected the image of the planet Sil was looking at.

"Yeah, that's the right one, how'd he figure out that one so fast?" Swinn was just getting more and more impressed by Sil by the hour.

Towel then began cleaning underneath his nails, leaning on the fridge and not looking at Swinn, "It's the closest planet to Umbrae, and seeing as there's so many ships traveling from this planet to that one so frequently, all it took was a little deducing. Simple logic."

Swinn realized he had his jaw open and quickly shut it as he got back to work.

'Just who is this guy?' He thought with a faint smile.

Sil got the message from his clone that he was in fact going to the right planet, and hit the gas on his jet, flying faster. When Sil was getting closer to orbit, he was sent a message on his ship. Accepting it, he saw a screen of a bird-like species, or at least, a species that had beaks and eyes on the side of their heads, while having scales instead of feathers. The person messaging him was a green colored being with light yellow patterning. Sil recognized that look of exhaustion on the bird-like being from seeing it so often on his friend, Logan, except their eye bags looked bigger than his.

"We noticed that you're entering our planet's orbit. Are you able to pay the entry fee of 40 intermediate tier beast crystals?" The bird-like being spoke with a monotone voice.

Sil actually didn't have that many basic or intermediate tier crystals on hand. It's not like he couldn't afford it, but it was more so the fact that he didn't bother hunting for such low tier crystals very often, and when he did, he chucked them into his ship's power generator.

"How does king tiers sound?" Sil responded.

The bird-like being looked off to the side, presumably to examine the conversion rate of the pricing, "uhhhhh that'll be 1 king tier."

"Great, I can easily afford that."

"Alright, when you land, you can pay there. Follow the smaller ships meant to escort you to the intended destination."

Sil soon saw the smaller ships, they were black in color, and looked to only house enough space for a cockpit and nothing else, unlike the one he was currently in which at least had a bathroom.

As he was led to the planet's surface, he landed his ship at a docking station, Sil couldn't help but notice some of the workers around him looking very tired. On the walls of the docking station was a massive screen that flickered between a large graph with several lines going up, a screen with squares of logos and numbers in different colors, along with the pricing of each company. Sil had seen this before.

"A stock market, huh?" Sil whispered.

If he was to wager a guess based on his centuries of fighting experience against celestials, then it was very likely that with such a large focus on profit margins to the point where it was on display even to tourists, that a ballsy celestial was at fault here. Not always, but he was familiar with the signs.

As he exited the ship, he saw it was a large area with glass skylights tinted mint green while also having black metal frames hold the structure up. Several other of the planet's inhabitants were landing and having their cargo checked along with a few other people from different species. Merchants, cargo ship travelers, and traders. A few workers wearing lime green ran up to Sil's ship to investigate the cargo.

"Hey! Watch it!" Sil called out to them as they started digging through his belongings.

They took out a hand held machine, which projected a bright green light for only a second before it disappeared. Once they saw that there was nothing he shouldn't have, and another worker used a scanning machine to scan Sil's body, only then was he left to his own devices.

He was glad that he kept all of his more dangerous beast gear in his ability's storage, because otherwise it was unlikely he would be allowed to keep it.

Exiting the building through a large opening, he was acosted by several merchants, about 15 or so, all haggling him for their 'great deals.'

"For the low low price of an emperor crystal, we'll ship anything you want to anywhere! Even a black hole!"

"With 5 easy payments of 3 advance tier crystals each, you too can buy an automatic vent cleaner!"

"Want to find family? Our group has connections to over one billion dna databases, spit in our tubes now!"

"You're our 10,000,000's visitor, and you just won a free mansion! Come with me to claim it now!"

"This deal won't last long, but if you act now then you'll save big on a world tour of our wonderful planet!"

It was honestly a lot to try to parse what anyone was even saying, and he only made out the 5 messages out of the whole lot. However, the deal about getting a world tour could be very helpful as to locate the Rubonic transformer Swinn told him about.

If the cause of the shortage was from strikes at factories then with the help of a guide, it should be more than easy for Sil to find it.
