In front of Danzō Shimura and Dan Katō's eyes, Naruto vanished in a puff of smoke.

"A Shadow Clone?!" Dan exclaimed in surprise.

From the shadows, Naruto emerged with steady steps, walking slowly until stopping just a few meters away from them.

"I switched places with a clone right when Danzō attacked me," he explained calmly, with an amused smile. "It was easier than I thought."

Both Danzō and Dan frowned.

Danzō let out an annoyed grunt, though his face showed no surprise.

Naruto thought that if Dan had truly given him useful information about the chat group or his abilities, Danzō's reaction would have been different.

If that were the case, Danzō wouldn't be so calm.

Dan, on the other hand, swallowed hard. His eyes darted around quickly, looking for an escape route.

Naruto looked at him with a mocking smile, making it clear that there was no way out.

Then Danzō noticed the blood on the ground.

"Since when do Shadow Clones bleed...?" he murmured.

Then he snorted, amused. "So you were wounded. Don't try to hide it. Do you think you can fool me?"

He struck the ground with his cane, as if trying to intimidate or assert authority.

Naruto raised his hand, showing a deep wound on his palm. Before their eyes, the cut visibly began to close.

"Do you really think someone like you could hurt me?" he said with a sarcastic, almost disdainful smile.

He had made a deep cut on purpose, just to make his act more convincing.

From the moment he realized the Danzō in front of him was fake, he knew he had to take the opportunity to gather information.

And after seeing Dan...

He needed to know why Dan had betrayed him, why he had done such a thing.

And now that he knew, he couldn't help but feel grateful to himself for having been so curious.

Danzō grunted again and pulled the bandages off the right side of his body, revealing multiple Sharingan underneath.

"Lord Danzō, we must retreat! We can't face him!" Dan warned, desperate.

But Danzō didn't even look at him. He completely ignored him.

"You should've listened to him," Naruto murmured. "Maybe then this would've been a little more entertaining."

Then Naruto closed his eyes. When he opened them, his irises were yellow, with toad-like pupils. Orange pigmentation circled around them: Sage Mode.

But Naruto didn't stop there. He connected with Kurama.

Within seconds, his body was surrounded by the brilliant golden glow of the Nine Tails Chakra Mode.

Both Danzō and Dan took a couple of steps back at the sight.

"T-this is... a Perfect Jinchūriki..." Danzō muttered, almost breathless.

Around him, several searing hot orbs began to materialize, floating in the air with a vibrant hum. Their mere presence distorted the surroundings, as if the air itself feared touching them.

"You know, when I'm bored, I like experimenting with new techniques..." Naruto said, with a carefree smile as a Rasengan formed in his right hand.

"This is the result of one of those curious moments..."

The incandescent orbs of Scorch Release (Shakuton), shared by Pakura through the Chat Group System, began to orbit the Rasengan.

Little by little, they fused with it.

The technique began to glow with an intense reddish-orange hue, releasing a heat so fierce that Danzō and Dan began to sweat almost instantly.

The ground around them started to crack.

"Rasen-Daijōhappa," Naruto murmured softly.

In an instant, the Rasengan expanded to a monstrous scale.

It floated above Naruto's head like an artificial sun, so bright it was difficult to look at directly.

"I wanted to call it Genkidama... but my mom said it was a terrible name and didn't make any sense." Naruto smiled nostalgically. "Clearly, she didn't have a childhood if she never saw Dragon Ball..."

Of course, he knew Kushina had never seen Dragon Ball—after all, it didn't exist in this world.

Danzō clicked his tongue in frustration. He quickly glanced at Dan in reproach.

If only he had been able to obtain all the information about Naruto... they wouldn't be trapped in this situation.

He cursed himself for trying to ambush the boy. Now he would have to pay the price with one of his Sharingan.

As for Dan...

Danzō regretted having to lose him again. He would've been useful to manipulate Tsunade if things had gone well.

Then, the Rasen-Daijōhappa fell.

Danzō barely had time to curse before feeling his body completely incinerated. The heat was unbearable. He cast one last glance at Dan, whose body burned beside him, screaming.

The next moment, a colossal explosion engulfed them.

The ROOT underground base disappeared completely from the map, along with half the surrounding forest. Everything that had once been there was reduced to smoldering ashes.

And then, in the middle of the smoking crater...

Danzō's body reappeared a few meters away, completely intact. One of the Sharingan on his right arm turned white and closed forever.

Izanagi had saved him...

As for Dan...

"L-Lord... Danzō..." gasped a raspy voice from the ground.

Dan was still alive, though barely clinging to life.

Half of his body had been grotesquely burned. His right side was a mosaic of bubbling flesh, blisters, and charred tissue. His face was disfigured, nearly unrecognizable. Only one eye remained open, trembling.

Dan had managed to substitute himself with a mud clone at the last second... but he hadn't been fast enough.

And Naruto...

Naruto floated a few meters above the ground, over the smoldering battlefield, looking down with cold indifference.

"I'd like to finish up quickly and leave. I'm busy... in case you haven't noticed," he murmured with a tired voice, more mentally than physically.

His gaze briefly drifted to the horizon. Two more problems remained to be dealt with in Konoha.

Two old relics still clinging to power like parasites: Homura Mitokado and Koharu Utatane.

They would be next.

Naruto had thought about it for a long time.

Those two elders were vestiges of a past that refused to die.

They obstructed any progress, any attempt to evolve the village. Konoha could no longer grow under the weight of their decisions.

Maybe no one would thank him for killing them, but neither would anyone miss them or shed a tear for their absence.

He clenched his teeth in rage, remembering a scene from the Boruto manga he had read in his past life.

After Naruto's supposed death—his own—when Shikamaru was named the Eighth Hokage, those two had the audacity to suggest he resign.

They wanted to replace him with Konohamaru, just because he was the grandson of the Third Hokage.

They thought Konohamaru would be easier to manipulate.

Naruto didn't need any more proof. His decision was made.

And after recalling that, Naruto was even more certain he wasn't wrong.

He closed his eyes and connected with Kurama once more.

"Are you ready, buddy?" Naruto asked, raising his fist toward Kurama.

"Let's go! Let me stretch my legs!" roared the voice of the Nine Tails Fox in his mind, bumping fists with him.

Naruto was immediately ejected from his own subconscious, back to reality.

An amused smile crossed Naruto's face as a massive surge of golden Chakra began to envelop his body. The ground trembled slightly under the pressure of his presence.

Within seconds, he entered Tailed Beast Mode.

The colossal, translucent figure of Kurama, made of pure golden Chakra, rose before Danzō.

"IT'S STILL NOT ENOUGH!" Naruto shouted, with a mix of euphoria and fury burning in his voice.

He wanted to finish Danzō off.

He wanted to do it with all his power.

Because if there was anyone in this world who deserved to witness it... it was Danzō.

Only then would he understand that, no matter what he did, he couldn't escape death.

At least, not this time.
