I stood there, arms crossed, waiting for Cesar's reaction.
"So, do we have a deal?" I asked, noticing the way he seemed lost in his own internal debate.
He shook his head like he was snapping himself out of something. "Wait… let's sit down for this. I don't understand what you're saying."
"I think what I said is very, very clear," I replied, voice steady. "We keep this between us, whatever it is that's happening..... under wraps. We don't let it affect our work, our home, our family, or our individual lives."
"That's where you lose me," he said, frowning. "What do you mean, 'our individual lives'? What the hell are we saying?"
I laughed. "Come on, Cesar. Have you ever even been in a relationship? Do you know what that looks like? Can you even keep one? Are you telling me you want one with me? That you want me to be your girlfriend? Is that it?"
He shook his head again. "Wait, you're just bombing me with all of this. I...."
