The volcano erupted once again.
Dorry grabbed his weapon and shield, heading to the usual battleground. However, something felt off—Brogy was nowhere to be seen.
As Dorry stood there wondering why Brogy was late, a strange voice called out from below.
"Dorry, down here... Dorry!"
Looking down in confusion, Dorry was startled to see a miniature version of Brogy waving up at him. Behind the tiny Brogy stood several humans: Ikki, Nami, Smoker, Tashigi, and Igaram, who blended into the background as usual.
Dorry blinked in disbelief. Brogy, the mighty giant, was now the size of an ordinary human.
"Dorry, let's change things up for our fight today!" Brogy called out with a grin. He then motioned to Ikki to proceed.
Ikki smirked, pulling out small light and aimed it at Dorry. A beam of light enveloped him, and Dorry felt the world around him grow larger. Or rather, he realized his own body was shrinking. The process stopped when he was reduced to human size, just like Brogy.
Brogy's grin widened as he said, "Alright, Dorry! Let's see how we fight like this!"
Dorry glanced down at his smaller form, then back at Brogy. He scratched his head thoughtfully and began, "I just had an idea—"
Before he could finish, Brogy let out a booming laugh.
"Kabababa! Dorry, were you thinking about meat and booze? I was too! So let's finish this fight quick, then we can feast and drink to our heart's content!"
Dorry laughed as well, taking his stance. The two readied themselves for battle.
Meanwhile...
Luffy and Usopp, who had come to watch the giants' duel, were baffled.
"Huh? Where's Uncle Dorry?" Usopp asked, scratching his head.
Luffy, always the curious one, couldn't resist finding out. Ignoring Vivi's attempts to stop him, he dashed toward the spot where Dorry had disappeared earlier.
When Luffy arrived, he saw something incredible: Dorry and Brogy, now human-sized, engaged in a fierce fight. Their smaller size seemed to have quickened their movements, with attacks flying faster than ever.
Ikki spotted Luffy and waved at him with a grin. Usopp caught up shortly after, his sharp eyes quickly deducing what had happened. "It's that flashlight in Ikki's hand, isn't it?" he muttered.
As Luffy approached, he noticed Smoker standing nearby. Instinctively, Luffy jumped back, fists raised, ready for a fight.
Ikki quickly stepped in, waving his hands in a placating gesture. "Hold on! Smoker's with us now. That fight before was just a misunderstanding!"
Smoker remained silent but gave a small nod, confirming Ikki's statement.
At that moment, the battle between Dorry and Brogy reached its climax.
While their current size of about two meters made their actions less overwhelming compared to their original giant forms, the intensity of their battle had increased dramatically. Both warriors were panting, their eyes locked on each other with fierce determination.
"Haha... Dorry, time for the final blow!" Brogy declared, grinning through his exhaustion.
"That's right... give it your all, Brogy!" Dorry replied with a confident smirk.
The moment they finished speaking, their fists were enveloped in Haki, one glowing with cyan and the other with red. When their fists collided, the resulting impact generated a powerful shockwave that tore through the surrounding area, uprooting trees and clearing a large space in an instant.
When the dust settled, both Dorry and Brogy lay flat on the ground, their energy completely spent. Once again, their fight had ended in a draw.
Ikki, watching from the sidelines, was shocked. His eyes widened as he witnessed the two giants using Armament Haki.
While the giants had utilized Haki in their previous battles, their usage had always appeared subtle and colorless—similar to how legends like Whitebeard wielded it.
In the One Piece world, fans often speculate about the nature of Haki, even categorizing it by different colors. For example, Luffy's Gear Fourth Haki shines red, while Vergo and Pica's Armament Haki gleam purple. During the Paramount War, many believed Whitebeard used raw strength alone, but this was a misconception. Whitebeard consistently infused his attacks with Armament Haki, refined to such mastery that it became invisible, much like Rayleigh's demonstration for Luffy.
Now, watching the battle between Dorry and Brogy, Ikki realized their mastery was likely on par with those legends. Their Haki wasn't lacking; it was simply understated in the series—probably for the sake of the story.
After all, this was still the first half of the Grand Line. Too much overwhelming power might have disrupted the plot's balance. Oda had likely chosen to tone it down for narrative reasons, just as he had "nerfed" other characters like Enel and the Shichibukai who ventured into space.
As the two giants recovered from their final clash, Luffy stood nearby, his eyes sparkling with excitement. The sheer spectacle of their battle, especially the dazzling special effects of their final blow, had him enthralled.
Smoker, standing silently, seemed to finally understand why the two captains of the Giant Warrior Pirates were called the Red Oni and Blue Ogre.
Despite their exhaustion, Dorry and Brogy soon climbed back to their feet. They exchanged a brief look of confusion before bursting into hearty laughter.
"Kababababa! Dorry, I haven't fought like this in ages!" Brogy exclaimed.
"Gyagagaga! Same here, Brogy. Too bad it's another tie!" Dorry replied.
Ikki, still puzzled, stepped forward. "Wait a second. Didn't you two enjoy fighting before?"
Brogy grinned and explained, "Of course we did, but you have to understand—this island is far too small for us warriors of Elbaf. If we fought at our full size, we'd destroy it completely!"
Ikki glanced around at the battlefield. Even at their reduced size, the devastation from their final clash was immense. If the fight had taken place at their original giant scale, it was easy to imagine the island sinking into the sea.
"Haha, so that's why it's called Little Garden! For warriors of Elbaf, it really is just a garden," Ikki said with a chuckle.
As the conversation continued, Luffy suddenly dashed over, his usual energy on full display.
"Uncle Dorry, fight me next!" he shouted, fists raised and ready.
