As soon as I stepped out of the mansion, the warm breeze of the morning brushed against my skin. I shoved my hands into the pockets of my coat, trying to calm the storm inside me. My phone vibrated. I pulled it out and glanced at the screen.
Jieun.
Seriously? Why now?
I sighed and answered the call, placing the phone against my ear.
"Hi, Minji," her voice came through, cool and calculated as always.
"I'm listening, Jieun," I said flatly, my voice barely holding in the irritation.
"Seungwoo will be waiting for you at the park near Joonseo's company," she said quickly.
My brows furrowed. "Why?"
She let out a frustrated breath. "Are you dumb, Minji? That's the road Joonseo takes to get to his company."
A pause.
"Why today?" I asked, my heart already feeling like it was falling into my stomach.
"Remember? Today is your final chance. You need to make him let you go—before he starts to hate you."
I didn't respond.
