Jale is the City of Paradise. The city earned that name after its ridiculously high literacy rates, low crime, and low poverty. It is many people's dream or ideal city to live in. It is also made in rings and assigned a ring depending on their work and deeds. If you have better deeds, you would go deeper into the city, and not even Nobles or Royals have free access to the deepest ring. The outer ring is called Ring Five, and the deepest one is called Ring One. In the center of Ring One is a huge crater filled by an artificial waterfall. The crater, which was called Richard's Crater after the man who made the waterfall, was a massive tourist at in the area.
The city was even Chiro's favorite, and he wanted to live peacefully here during his retirement.
The city is located north of Lukia at a moderate distance away from Akuza. The houses were like normal houses made of bricks and pointed rooftops with lush greenery to envelop whoever lived there.
This was the place for Emily, Tensei, and Haruki's mission. The mission's main objective was to make sure no harm occurred to the city of Jale and protect its citizens from the major bombings and terrorist attacks that have been happening throughout Lukia.
Chiro had teleported them to Jale's outermost ring gate and told them that they were on their own from there since even he had his work to complete. Therefore, they all started their journey into paradise. A first glimpse at the outer gate ring is very surprising, normally the outer gate should have horrible facilities, but instead it boasts nice shops and ma houses with farms covering the lush plains of Jale.
"Wow," said Haruki, who took a while to breathe everything in.
"It's very beautiful, isn't it?" asked Emily as she poi to the many fancy buildings.
All the rings were separated by a body of water, so to get to the next ring, you need to go through security at the Watergate. They all reached their destination soon, which was Ring One, to meet the mayor to talk about security plans. They had previously met the mayor before during Chiro's work, and he is a joyful person, but Tensei had never met him.
"What's his name?" asked Tensei.
"His name is Ozamu, he's a nice person," said Haruki, gleaming.
"You only say that because he buys you gifts," pointed out Emily.
They all eased by security just by showing their DMMS IDs and eventually made it to the manor in Ring One. The houses in Ring One were much more developed than the houses in Ring Five, and everything felt more royal and high. They entered the huge manor, which was in a shiny grey shade, built like a box, with intricate designs on the walls, the floors, and the doors of the manor. There was also a very big lawn and the back of the manor with a long pathway covered by greenery at the front of the manor for a grand entrance.
Inside was the same story, the Manor had a chandelier on top at the center of the living room, tw the same destinations on the first floor (The ground they are on now is called the ground floor.) On the ground floor, there are bathrooms, a statue of Richard in between the staircases, and kitchens.
Soon after Tensei observed the beautifully constructed house, Ozamu came running towards Haruki and picked him up and hugged him. Tensei looked at him with surprise and accidentally activated his demon transformation as a caution.
"Is this guy him?" asked Tensei.
"Yes," replied Emily.
Ozamu was not the fit figure. He was more round with his head balding even though Tensei could smell all the fancy hair treatment he tried. He was also wearing glasses and at mediocre height. It was hard to believe he was the mayor. While Haruki was dying of laughter due to Ozamu's tickles, eventually he dropped him down and gave all of the members assembled here gifts.
Haruki got an upgraded console.
Tensei got a new battle gauntlet that changes size and shape to fit his transformation.
Emily got a pair of glasses that let her hyper-focus on details and get AI feedback on them.
They all thanked Ozamu and got seated on the long, silver diner table with plates and plates on end with de and smelling food. As they were eating, they decided to start talking business.
"Thank you for the gifts," said Tensei.
"Oh, you're a new one, aren't you?" asked Ozamu directly.
"Yes, I did not come here on my last visit," said Tensei.
"Alright, I hope you enjoy your stay," said Ozamu.
"I hope so too," said Tensei.
"On topic, we need to fortify all the Rings to protect people," Emily urgently said.
"Of course, I have done that, you should have seen more security while coming here," said Ozamu.
"And regarding your protection?" asked Tensei.
"I'll have one of you stay here, alright?" asked Ozamu.
"Who do you choose?" asked Haruki.
"I'll choose the Demon boy," said Ozamu.
"Then it's settled," said Emily.
In the afternoon, Emily and Haruki went on a patrol to see weak spots in the city while also shopping, since they thought they would be here for a while, and a few spare shirts would be better to have than not to have.
Then they saw a commotion on the streets as multiple ninja started attacking Ring Five, and every resident of the city was scared or running in fear since they could reach Ring One easily and soon, with no time to prepare. Emily quickly opened her Playbox and made it cover the entire city. This process took a lot of Soul energy, but it was necessary. Then she and Haruki teleported to Ring Five's border.
It was their worst dream come true, there were multiple hordes of ninja just rushing towards them, and a higher up was dealing with the security on the border.
Emily stepped in to intervene.
"Excuse me, please leave," said Emily.
The guy looked at Emily and took a step closer towards her. She did not budge and instead looked her straight in the eyes.
"These are…Dangerous places for a mother and child, I believe indeed it should be you who should be leaving," said the higher up.
Emily, instead of talking, picked him up with her telekinesis ability from her playbox and threw him far away, almost to the backside of the hordes of ninja. Then a faint scream was heard, which signalled all the ninja to attack.
All the kids ran towards Emily and Haruki. Emily dealt with them by using her playbox ability, creating explosions, clouds of dust to blind the ninja, or just throwing them around since she calls physical fighting too bleak and annoying. Haruki summoned the Lightning Black Eagle and Demon Bull to support him and amplified his body with soul energy, covering himself in a cloudy black.
"Why can't I see my Arch-Angel?" asked Haruki.
"Oh, uh, Danso has it now," said Emily while fighting.
"Huh?! How is that possible?" said Haruki while dodging a couple of ninjas.
"He used that soul slime ability I talked about and took over your Arch-Angel," said Emily.
"Oh my god! Fine, I'll summon something else," said Haruki.
"Thank god, Danso removed it, the last time you summoned it and the last last time you summoned it were all disasters!" exclaimed Emily.
"Shadow Companion Sorcery:- Commander Cobra," said Haruki.
Almost instantly, a giant cobra, which was black and scaly, came from the shadow portal in front of Haruki and started to slither across the battleground, fighting multiple ninja and attacking them all. Eventually, they reached the back of the horde and realised that the higher up they met at the beginning, got knocked out from the fall that Emily caused! Haruki and Emily laughed it out before re-entering the Manor by teleporting. Emily and Haruki opened the giant golden doors.
Bodies. A sea of endless bodies.
Emily used her playbox ability to cleanse the smell since it was too much for Haruki to handle.
They both rushed to the first floor and opened Ozamu's room door, and they saw Tensei alone, covered in blood and scars, sitting on top of a mountain of ninja.
"What happened here?" asked Emily.
"It's all going to be gone now," said Tensei.
"What? What do you mean?" said Emily.
Then an explosion occurred on top of the manor. Emily used a hundred percent of her playbox ability to try and decrease the damage. The explosion was so big that it destroyed Ring One entirely and flooded it, increasing Richard's Crater. They lost.
