Chapter 11 - Chapter 11 : The Veil of Fathom

Moments after Mohamed vanished...

No sooner had the ranks of the Last Silence closed around Mohamed than the sky exploded.

Torrential rain fell as if heaven's tears had merged with earth's blood.

The Wind That Preceded Redemption became a storm, scouring the ruins and screaming at the survivors:

("Run! For flight is all that remains to you!")

Mustafa collapsed to his knees in the mud, his eyes locked on the spot where his brother had disappeared.

He did not weep... only raised his hands—caked in clay and blood—toward the sky, as if bracing for a lightning strike.

Sarah(gripping his shoulders, voice choked):

"Get up! If he saw you like this... he would never forgive himself!"

But Omar moved faster.

He dragged Mustafa like a puppet with severed strings, bellowing at the others:

Move! Or do you want Mohamed to die in vain?!"

The survivors sat amidst rubble and dried bloodstains, their eyes fixed on **Mustafa**, who remained silent—lost in thought as cigarette smoke curled nervously around his face.

Ryan (voice trembling with confusion):

What now? What are we supposed to do?"*

Mustafa (taking a drag, eyes distant):

"I don't know... But we finish what Mohamed came for."

He stood abruptly and entered a small storage room. Moments later, he emerged carrying supplies:

- Canned food, vegetables, and fruit

- Children's toys

- Cigarettes and a bottle of wine

He handed a list to Omar.

Mustafa:

"Omar. These are the supplies you came for."

Omar (scanning the list):

"Understood, Uncle. We'll check them when we reach home."

Ryan (fidgeting):

What about Mohamed? Who leads us now?"

Sarah (without hesitation):

"I nominate Omar or Mustafa."

as Sarah and Adam, Rayan discuss with loudly voice:

- "Omar's reckless!"

- "Mustafa's too broken!"

- "Omar knows the tunnels!"

- "Mustafa carries Mohamed's blood!"

No agreement was reached.

Suddenly, a hiss echoed through the cracks in the stone:

("Have you surrendered? Or will you save him?")

The room froze.

The voice slithered again:

("Assemble an army. Storm the Bone Palace. Or his screams will haunt these walls forever...")

Adam (backing away):

"Allah protect us—is it Mohamed's ghost?!"

Sarah(drawing her dagger):

"Show yourself!"

Mustafa(eyes blazing):

"Weapons ready. We move "now".

They burst from the house into the storm. Before them stood a rusted iron carriage —a relic from the Old World.

Omar (slamming the driver's seat):

"To the tunnel! We ride for 'Amal'!"

As the engine roared to life, Sarah locked eyes with Mustafa:

"Why 'Amal'? (Hope)"

Mustafa (gripping his brother's broken sword):

"Because Mohamed's last whisper was its name."

The carriage lurched forward, vanishing into the rain as the whisper chased them:

"Run, little sparks... The Scared One awaits his kindling."

Everyone was on high alert, each guarding a flank as if Death stalked them from the shadows. The sky hung silent—as if the cosmos refused to intervene in their fate.

Sarah (reloading her pistol):

"Conserve ammo! Only shoot at confirmed targets!"

Omar (aiming into the darkness):

"Even God abandoned us... Let our fight be crueler than His will!"

Mustafa (wiping his sword with a wet rag):

"Save philosophy for later! Focus or..."

Suddenly—without warning—the earth split open. Dozens of spider-like creatures leaped from the void, **their shadowy forms oozing darkness, crimson eyes flashing like hell-lanterns.

Ryan (screaming in terror):

"What demons are these?! They're emerging from nothingness!"

Adam (firing wildly):

"They're swarming us! Fall baaaack!"

As the iron carriage hurtled at breakneck speed, the team slaughtered the creatures one by one:

- Sarah shot a beast through the eye—it exploded like a blood-balloon.

- Omar shoved a creature clinging to the carriage—crushing it beneath the wheels.

- Mustafa severed a crawling limb moments before it snatched Adam.

Mustafa (to Sarah, bleeding from his shoulder):

"Remember our escape from z-47? Child's play compared to this!"

Sarah (firing a shot over his head):

"And you promised me a date in Paradise! Don't die before paying that debt!"

When they reached "Amal" Tunnel, they found the Last Silence waiting with rifles aimed. Among them stood Jeros —mohamed's old friend—cloaked in gloom, a scar etching his cheek.

Jeros (voice like crickets scraping):

"Welcome, Mohamed's guests... We anticipated your arrival!"

Mustafa (leaping from the carriage, sword dripping blood):

"Jeros! You betrayed your closest friend, then serve his executioner?!"

Jeros (laughing like a broken lion's roar):

"Mohamed chose martyrdom... I chose vengeance. The difference? I still breathe!"

Sarah (aiming her rifle at his head):

"Not for much longer!"

After the iron carriage halts at the tunnel entrance.

Jeros (lining his men like an iron wall, voice dry as shattering glass):

"Halt! Tunnel 'Amal' is forbidden to you... Return to your cell in Z-47!"

Ryan (desperately):

"Why? Isn't this our last refuge?!"

Adam (staring into the tunnel's darkness):

"What danger could be worse than *Dhū al-Nadba?!"

Mustafa and Omar exchange a silent glance... as if guarding a buried secret.

Suddenly, a woman in a black military cloak cuts through the ranks, fabric swirling like mist. Her hair flies like a war banner. Her face—a moon in a starless night.

Fatima (voice like clashing swords):

"Since when do you give orders, Youssef ?!" (Revealing jeross' real name).

Jeros (bowing, trembling like a bird in a storm):

"My lady Fatima... They want to storm 'Amal'! Secrets there will scorch their eyes"

Fatima (ignoring him, marching toward the entrance):

"I care not for cowards' secrets! My husband is there... I'll drag him from your hell."

Sarah (eyes like gun barrels):

"How did you find us?! Who told you about Mohamed ?!"

Fatima (wiping battle dust off her shoulder with pride):

"You think I'm a **housewife** nursing babies and hanging laundry? I killed warlords before your children were born! Guarded secrets that melt mountains!"

Omar (exhausted sarcasm):

"Yes... Mother."

Fatima (turning to him with an assassin's chill):

"You don't know how many girls died so you'd live, boy... Or how nations fell because you never entered the **Tunnel of Temptation**!"

Ryan (terrified):

"What tunnel?!"

Fatima (eyes glinting like daggers):

"A hell that seduces souls! Beings without gender ... beauty so dazzling you forget faith, honor, yourself! They don't breed—they steal life's seeds from victims."

Jeros (screaming in terror):

"My lady! Enough—this is the secret of secrets!"

Fatima (kicking the tunnel door open):

"You're right, Youssef... Everyone, move!"

As the team follows Fatima like rats into a maze, **Mustafa, Sarah, Omar** linger at the entrance... Breath frozen in their chests.

The tunnel emits a **strange hum**, like choked desire... Then swallows them in darkness.
