Chapter 122 - Sea God Island, the Solidified God Test

Since returning from Dragon Valley, Yu Tianming had obtained the soul bone of the Blue Silver Emperor, reunited with Dugu Yan in the Slaughter City, made contact with the Shrek Seven Devils in the Star Dou Forest, and slain the Sky Azure Bull Python. He hadn't stopped moving for even a moment.

Only after finishing all the urgent matters did he finally remember his other maidservant—Ah Zhi.

A year ago, in order to find a way to save Yu Tianming, who had fallen into a spatial rift, Dugu Yan had headed to the Slaughter City to seek a chance at godhood, while Ah Zhi, as a sea-type soul master, had gone to Sea God Island to seek help from the High Priest, Bo Saixi.

Thinking of this, Yu Tianming didn't bother with the Shrek Seven Devils, who were about to be trained to death by Yu Xiaogang's boot camp. Instead, he took Ah Zhu and flew straight toward the faraway Sea God Island.

Now that his strength had vastly increased, once he activated the soul bone ability Cloud-Chasing Moon-Hastening Wings, the two of them became a white cocoon of light. At full speed, they turned into a streaking beam, cutting across the sky in an instant.

Passing over Shrek Academy, the Grandmaster happened to see the light streak across the sky and frowned slightly, muttering, "A shooting star in broad daylight?"

With his eighth soul ring, Yu Tianming's strength was far beyond what it used to be, and his speed had reached a terrifying level. In the time it took to burn a stick of incense, he had crossed the entire continent from the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan in the east to the offshore Sea God Island in the west.

Upon arriving, he deactivated Cloud-Chasing Moon-Hastening Wings and relied on his transformed soul power to fly together with Ah Zhu.

Sea God Island hadn't changed at all from a year ago. Under the protection of the Sea God's divine power, it was forever blue skies and white clouds, with peaceful waves lapping at snowy shores. No storm of the sea could ever disturb this sanctuary.

However, now that Yu Tianming no longer possessed the Sea God's divine power, the natural affinity he once felt toward the island had disappeared entirely.

Yet in this moment, gazing upon the island's beauty, he couldn't help but laugh heartily from the bottom of his heart.

The Dragon God's transformation had merely elevated him to the level of a god. Although he wasn't a successor to any particular deity and couldn't immediately become a God King, he also wasn't bound by the Sea God's divine influence.

This allowed him to truly feel how full and powerful his strength was—an exhilarating sense of transcendence, free from any divine shackles.

Ah Zhu, watching Yu Tianming laugh beside her, gently smoothed her wind-tousled hair. Her slender fingers found his hand, intertwining their fingers. Without a word, the affection in her heart was clear.

The two of them followed the C-shaped inlet of the island and quickly reached a large lake. The lake was perfectly round and unnaturally still, almost eerie in its clarity. In its center stood the deep blue Sea Dragon Sacred Pillar.

Atop it sat Sea Dragon Douluo, cross-legged like a monk. Upon sensing Yu Tianming's arrival, he slowly opened his eyes and stood up.

Yu Tianming and Ah Zhu gracefully descended from the sky. He smiled at the elder before him.

"Lord Sea Dragon, it's been a while."

In the year apart, Sea Dragon Douluo seemed to have aged a decade. Though still robust, the vibrant vitality he once radiated had faded; it was as if he were already past his prime despite his young appearance.

Seeing Yu Tianming, Sea Dragon Douluo first rubbed his eyes in disbelief. Once he confirmed it wasn't an illusion, he cried out in surprise, "Tianming, you're alive! I thought you were already—" His words trailed off as he noticed the golden trident mark on Yu Tianming's brow had vanished.

The joy on his face quickly turned serious.

"Why is your Sea God mark gone? The Sea God's inheritance has had some issues lately. If you know anything about it, you must tell the High Priest immediately."

"Don't worry, Sea Dragon Douluo. Even if I can't become the Sea God, I'll be able to revive the Sea Dragon."

Sea Dragon Douluo responded meaningfully, "It's not just about reviving the Sea Dragon. As one of the Seven Sacred Pillars' guardians, I can feel the Sea God's inheritance has been interrupted. This is a cataclysmic event for Sea God Island."

Hearing this, Yu Tianming asked, puzzled, "What exactly happened with the inheritance that has you so worried?"

Sea Dragon Douluo explained earnestly, "After you fell into the spatial rift, I went with the High Priest to the Star Dou Forest and retrieved the Sea God's Trident. But not long ago, the trident's golden light vanished. At the same time, I felt the inheritance was cut off."

At those words, Yu Tianming instinctively looked toward the golden orb stored within the Dragon King's space—a fist-sized bead that continuously emitted divine Sea God energy, with faint mists swirling within.

Tang Chen had once condensed his Asura God trial into the Asura Divine Sword, and this orb had been similarly forced from Yu Tianming's body by the Dragon God's power. Without the Sea God Trident to contain it, it had condensed into this form.

Yu Tianming thought, 'Could it be that only one divine trial can proceed at a time? And this orb is the condensed form of my trial? Did it block the Sea God's test, preventing it from continuing?'

Understanding the core of the issue, Yu Tianming smiled confidently.

"Sea Dragon Douluo, I think I might have an idea. Would you like to come with me to the Sea God Temple?"

Sea Dragon Douluo shook his head, hinting, "I must continue guarding the Sea Dragon Sacred Pillar. But remember, without the Sea God's mark, you are no longer part of Sea God Island."

Yu Tianming nodded, not quite understanding, and led Ah Zhu toward the Sea God Mountain and the temple at its peak.

Once, the divine energy around the Sea God Temple was so dense it far surpassed the rest of the island. But now, the divine glow had faded, and without that aura, the grand temple looked just like any other building.

Even the once-lustrous Sea God stairway looked dim and mundane, like ordinary stone steps.

The scenery hadn't changed—only the absence of divine power made the temple seem desolate to him now.

Creeeak—before he could knock, the heavy doors of the Sea God Temple slowly opened.

A girl in a blue dress suddenly burst out of the dim interior and threw herself into Yu Tianming's arms.

It was Ah Zhi, whom he hadn't seen for a year. After consuming immortal herbs, her martial spirit had evolved, and her beauty had only grown.

Now twenty years old, her features had lost their youthful softness. The blue dress complemented her tall, curvy figure. Her long blue-purple hair framed her face as tears like pearls rolled down her cheeks—truly a beauty to stir the heart.

Yu Tianming patted her shoulder gently.

"Don't cry. I'm back, aren't I? How've you been this past year?"

At his words, she finally let go, revealing the damp patch on his chest.

"I thought you were dead, Young Master. After you disappeared, I came here for help. Since the High Priest said your divine test hadn't changed, we thought you were safe. But a few days ago, something changed suddenly. I feared the worst."

"I'm back now. And I've brought your sister to see you too."

"Ah Zhi, Young Master came back and reunited us. Yet you only saw him and didn't even notice your sister."

Maybe it was the long time apart, or just happiness, but the two sisters began chatting about old memories, laughter filling the temple steps. As the sun dipped westward, golden-red light filled the sky. Eventually, starlight replaced the dusk glow.

Inside the dark Sea God Temple, torches on the pillars lit one by one. From the depths of the hall came Bo Saixi's quiet voice.

"You arrived at noon, and now it's night, yet you're still chatting. How much longer are you going to keep me waiting?"

Ah Zhi smiled and led Yu Tianming and Ah Zhu inside.

"Ever since you arrived, the High Priest has been waiting. Come in quickly."

After a year of living closely with Bo Saixi, Ah Zhi no longer spoke with the nervousness of the past—her tone was as casual as addressing an old family friend.

Without the trident's golden glow, the Sea God Temple had returned to its original, austere appearance. Under the firelight, the murals of the Sea God battling soul beasts looked dim and faded.

They soon reached the inner sanctum—a triple-tiered stone platform.

The Sea God Trident still stood on the top tier. Bo Saixi sat on the lowest tier, the great Sea God Scepter before her, her red priest robes cascading to the floor.

She looked at Yu Tianming's forehead, her sea-blue eyes no longer tranquil as before. With a sigh, she spoke.

"As I expected. You've already inherited the power of another god."

Yu Tianming hadn't inherited another god's legacy. Rather, with the Dragon God's help, he had broken through the boundary—his existence now akin to that of a god.

But he didn't argue, instead asking, "How did you know, High Priest? Because the trident mark is gone?"

Bo Saixi gave a gentle smile.

"I can sense divine energy on you—similar to the Sea God's, but weaker. I guessed you've already inherited most of a god's power. But a few days ago, something happened with you that disrupted the Sea God's inheritance, didn't it?"

Her smile remained, but a cold glint flashed in her eyes. If she didn't get the answers she needed, she wouldn't hesitate to act.

Yu Tianming didn't answer directly. He simply took Ah Zhi by the hand and walked forward.

They reached the highest tier.

"High Priest, I know how to restore the Sea God's inheritance."

Receiving no reply, he walked straight to the trident.

Though the trident had already merged with the Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud and lost its gray hue, it no longer radiated the Sea God's light. He placed a hand on it—there was no spiritual link, no feeling of control.

But his eyes were filled with confidence as he looked at Ah Zhi.

"Would you like to become the Sea God?"

"Me?" Ah Zhi pointed at herself, confused.

"Yes, you." Without further discussion, and under Bo Saixi's astonished gaze, he took her delicate hand and placed it on the trident.

Then, he turned his other palm up, and the golden orb from the Dragon King's space appeared silently.

The moment it emerged, the temple blazed with golden light. Divine power began gathering around Sea God Mountain. The energy made Yu Tianming frown slightly—he wasn't used to it.

He didn't hesitate. He placed the orb against Ah Zhi's forehead.

In an instant, the Sea God's test crystal, Ah Zhi, and the trident were all linked. A blinding golden light erupted.

On all corners of Sea God Island, the seven Sacred Pillar guardians raised their heads. Sea Dragon Douluo, who had offered his Sea Dragon in sacrifice, wept tears of joy.

"The Sea God's inheritance… it's returned!"

Moments later, the light faded. The orb turned to ash, and a golden trident mark appeared on Ah Zhi's brow. The Sea God Trident beside her glowed faintly, as if awakened.

Moved by divine instinct, Ah Zhi effortlessly picked up the trident—once 108,000 jin in weight, now light as a feather in her grasp.

She looked at Yu Tianming in disbelief.

"Young Master, did I really inherit the Sea God's legacy? Just like that?"

Yu Tianming smiled. "Just like that. Check your divine test—has it changed?"

"Sea God's Eighth Test: Reach Title Douluo, obtain a full set of soul bones, and slay the Deep Sea Devil Whale King. Time limit: 50 years."

"It's the same as mine. But since you're a sea-type soul master, you're given 50 years. That's practically a guaranteed success."

Ah Zhi's joy dimmed slightly.

"Fifty years to become a Title Douluo is easy. Gathering soul bones too. But the Deep Sea Devil Whale King has cultivated for who knows how long… It won't be easy to kill."

Even with the Sea God's inheritance, facing the Deep Sea Devil Whale King—a near-god about to transform—she lacked confidence.
