"Are you sure this is a good idea?" A prisoner asked as he walked behind another, both of them carrying copper weapons. Their clothes had green blood splatter on it, but other than that, they seem to be relatively fine....which means they were apart of the new batch that arrived two days ago. They navigated through the city with purpose in their steps, they had a clear objective.
"Look, the stigma window said that the points we get from killing people is based on the amount they invest in attributes plus the spare points they have." The second prisoner said, looking at the first in annoyance.
"I know that, but, do you really think this is a good idea? I mean, this chick hangs out with the guy who hunts red devils on his own. She is probably strong as well." The first one asked
"She's injured for fuck's sake. Didn't you hear the rumour, she took a fireball to the stomach. She isn't moving around any time soon." He responded in an annoyed tone.
"And what if those two find out that it was us?" He asked again, and this time, the second prisoner remained silent for a moment. He had thought of this of course, which is why he made preparations. He brought this guy along, someone who he only met today, and got him to join him with the promise that anything they find he could take, but he would get to kill her and take the points. He hadn't told the first prisoner his real name, and after the deed was done, he planned to make himself scarce for the next few days. So, when Xavier and Mickey found the first prisoner with all of Maria's stuff, they would kill him, and even if he told them that he had help, they wouldn't be able to find him since he didn't know his real name and his features weren't that distinguishable.
'A better idea would be to kill him as well, make it looked like they took each other out.' The second prisoner thought sinisterly before answering.
"They won't, we will leave no evidence behind. Trust me, I have done this before." He said reassuring, but the first prisoner gulped in fear.
They soon arrived at Maria's cell, and just like they had planned, no one was there. The guards were already rounding up the prisoners and forcing them to go out in the forest, meaning these two didn't have much time. Maria was inside eating fruits and drinking water with a contented look on her face. She did feel a bit bad that everyone was forced to go out into the forest while she was here, leisurely eating and drinking, but she knew Xavier and Mickey could take care of her.
'Hell, they might even do better without me around to slow them down.' She thought and ate another fruit before standing up. She groaned in pain, and almost fell back down while clutching her stomach. Seeing all of this, both of the prisoners watching her grinned, before the second one lifted his spear. He threw the spear as hard as he could towards her chest, but she hit the shaft, sending it crashing into the ground.
"Wow, impressive." The second prisoner said, taking out his dagger and walking forward with the first one trailing behind him nervously. Maria quickly took up her sword, while standing shakily, and the prisoner licked his lips.
"Make this easier on all of us doll and put down the sword." He said
"Yeah no, I might not be in the best condition right now, but I can still take down atleast one of you." She said and he grinned. Just as the two prisoners were going to attack, something blocked the sunlight shining into the cell, casting a shadow over all of them. The two prisoners quickly turned around as a fist connected with the face of the first prisoner, sending him flying into the wall. A trail of blood appeared on the wall as his body slid down, the back of his head obviously bleeding and his motionless form unconscious.
"T-Tsubasa." The second prisoner said terrified as he looked at the assailant. He gripped his dagger tightly, but he knew he had no chance of winning.
"Take your friend and scram." He said and menacingly, and the prisoner internally sighed with relief as he grabbed the other prisoner's unconscious form, and quickly left.
"Men these days have no honour am I right? Attacking an injured girl how shameful." Tsubasa said, shaking his head, but Maria didn't put down her sword.
"What do you want Tsubasa?" Maria asked
"I'm looking for your friends, you know, the smart one, and the angry one." Tsubasa said and Maria groaned as she sat down.
"They went West." She answered and Tsubasa nodded his head, before turning to leave.
"Why do you want to know where they went?" She asked
"I need to have a chat with them. Don't worry, I'm sure they will tell you all about it." He said, waving as he left and Maria sighed in relief.
