Xiao Wu sat across from Tang San, tears streaming down her face as he awakens after absorbing his third souk ring.
"Xiao Wu… you're okay" Tang San slowly placed his hand on her cheek, afraid it was just an illusion.
Xiao Wu nodded as she placed her hand on Tang San's hand, "Xiao Wu is okay."
Silence
Cough, Cough
They finally remembeted that they weren't alone here. Xiao Wu's face grew as red as a tomato from embarrassment.
"How romantic~" Oscar said teasingly whike watching the scene between them.
Dai MuBai walked towards Tang San and punched him in the gut, doing the same with Liu Yan. "That punch was from everyone. You two not only didn't follow instructions, both of you put yourselves in danger." Dai MuBai said angrily, reprimanding both of them.
Dai MuBai then placed his hand on Tang San's shoulder, "Xiao San. Congratulations on becoming a soul elder."
As Ma HongJun and Oscar jumped onto Tang San, congratulating him. Ning RongRong approached Xiao Wu, Ying Xuan and Liu Yan.
"I'm glad you all survived." She said.
"Would you believe me if I said the Titan Giant Ape was vegetarian" Xiao Wu replied, Ning RongRong just had a face of shock at such a revelation.
"Alright, alright! Let's head back. I don't want anymore drama." Zhao WuJi announced, ready to head back and avoid trouble.
Rustle, Rustle
A lady popped out from behind some bushes, upon seeing the Man Faced Demon Spider unmoving, she excalimed in surprise.
"Who killed it?! Who killed my Man Faced Demon Spider!" She was about to start throwing a tantrum. This was thhe second time the soul beast she wanted was snatched away.
When she looked at the crowd near the spider, she recognised them immediately.
"You guys again!" She stood in shock, were these people thieves sent out by rival families to stop her from getting a soul ring?!
"You actually took away my demon spider!" She yelled, her temper was rising again.
"To be fair miss, how can you prove that this demon spider is yours?" Dai MuBai was done with the constant ranting of this brat.
Just then, an authoritative voice sounded. "I can prove it." The aura of a dragon filled the area, scaring away all the weaker soul beasts.
"This aura… Dragon Grandfather, Meng Shu!" Zhao WuJi recognised the aura of this soul douluo.
An elderly man, carrying a staff with the carving and shape of a dragon emerged, his presence demanded respect.
"Two of the eyes on the demon spider was wounded by me, particularly a stab wound." He stated, when Tang San checked the eyes, he really found two of the eyes were damaged.
Zhao WuJi cupped his right hand into the palm of his left, greeting MengShu and Chao TianXiang who just arrived.
"We meet again, little brother Zhao" Chao TianXiang said, she was amused. Earlier, she and her granddaughter were forced to give away the snake soul beasts, now their plan to injure and wear out the demon spider was disrupted too.
"Fuck! This was exactly what I wanted to avoid!" Zhao WuJi smiled while in his heart, he cursed loudly.
"You are all thieves! First was my Crystal Comb Snake, now my demon spider!" Yiran ranted again.
Xiao Wu retaliated, "Who are you to claim a soul beast as yours! It was only your thick skin and incompetence that you couldn't kill the beast yourself!" She was angry, since when were her kin regarded as objects of humans.
"Tch, go to hell!" Yiran's temper worsened. She threw 3 knives at Xiao Wu, wanting to take out her anger.
Bang
Tang San had deflected on the knives.
Liu Yan, watching the scene unfold, sat down.
"What a scene, I'm still injured… let's just relax and watch the show." He thought as drama unfolded before him.
"She must be furious, to have used the soul breaking knives." Chao TianXiang thought, her granddaughter was rather impulsive, compared the boy she's arguing with.
"Zhao WuJi, I'm going to have to cut that kid's arm off, to calm my granddaughter down." Meng Shu said, holding out a knife.
"Elder MengShu, that doens't seem very good. The young lady might get even more agitated if you do so." Zhao WuJi sweated profusely, he can't let 'that guy's' son have his arm cut off.
"Then how do you suggest we settle this?" MengShu said patiently.
"How about this, we let them have a fight without martial souls, only the knives. If Tang San wins, you let us leave unharmed, if your granddaughter wins, you can cut his arm off" Zhao WuJi said, trying to comrpromise. He knows Tang San can win, but right now it was the matter of whether this elder would accept his condition.
"Deal!" Yiran yelled out as she took out more soul breaking knives.
"Heh, how about you give Xiao San a small kiss too!" Ma HongJun snickered as he said it, which earned a kick near his groin from Xiao Wu.
"Don't underestimate me! I won't lose in this regard!" She said, preparing for the duel to start.
"I trained with these knives ever since I could hold one. Catch!!" She said before immediately throwing them at Tang San, attempting to catch him off guard.
Dang, Dang, Dang
They exchanged the knives, deflecting and throwing it towards their opponent.
"Damn it. This kid seems to be familiar with knives too. He could be even better than Yiran!" Chao TianXiang quickly caught on.
"These knives are big and heavy for you. Maybe you should reconsider other types of hidden weapons that lighter!" Tang San explained her flaw as he released clear bone needles, perfectly deflecting and controlling the 36 soul breaking knives.
"I don't need you to judge me!" Yiran yelled, wanting to throw another knife but realised that she had thrown all of them. They were all now under Tang San's control.
Slowly, he collected them into a clump. "Here, thirty six of them are here. You can count them" he handed the knives to Yiran.
"I hope this can repay you for your troubles" Tang San said as he took out five clear bone needles, and their training methods. Handing them to her.
She was shocked, just moemnts ago, he was her enemy. Now he's handing away one of his weapons and training methods.
She stood there, contemplating her decisions.
Sigh
"It seems no matter how good you are, there will always be someone who is better." MengShu sighed in defeat.
"We accept our earlier agreement, you all may leave. Yiran, let's go." MengShu turned, waiting for her to catch up.
"Grandpa, wait one moment" Yiran called out before running to Tang San,
Smooch
Yiran gave Tang San a kiss on the cheek
Ma HongJun and Oscar stared in awe while Xiao Wu looked ready to kill.
"Don't think much of it. Just part of our earlier agreement." She said before running off.
With that, the Shrek students began their journey to their academy.
