Chapter 47 - Chapter 47: Vacation

Since my body is aching, I wish Sulli would bring me some morphine or something so I can handle the pain.

The little fight I had with that guy who looked a bit like Bruce Lee or a guy from Cobra Kai left me pretty sore. His ability, which left me feeling bad along with other buildings, was quite potent; I don't know if it was an ability when I reached peak martial prowess or a Devil Fruit, but it was pretty potent.

Dante: "How are you, Isis?"

Isis: "Oddly enough, better than you."

Right now, we're on the cruise ship, which will take us to Sabaody to travel across the four seas.

After being saved by Sakazuki and other marines who came to our aid, the three assassins escaped as soon as they arrived.

Trini: "If it weren't for her pesky fruit, I could have defeated that crazy woman."

Dante: "You could say the same thing as with Isis: without her Devil Fruit, the girl could have easily defeated Isis, no offense."

Isis: "You're not right. I'm still very weak when it comes to fighting. I can use my fruit well, but when it comes to fighting, I fail."

Arthur: "You shouldn't be so hard on yourself either; you just have to keep trying."

Sulli: "She's right. You weren't the only one who felt useless."

Dante: "Anyway, everything happened so fast that we could barely do anything, aside from being separated and it happening so suddenly."

At that moment, a marine entered the room where we were. It was Rear Admiral Yamakaji, who will eventually become Vice Admiral. He was standing guard on the cruiser at the request of some nobles who are here for the Navy. In response, Yamakaji and some members and recruits were sent to the cruiser.

Yamakaji: "Here's the information you asked for. I was only able to bring you information about the guy Dante fought with; the rest is classified. If you want to know, you'll have to work for the Navy."

Dante: "All right, Rear Admiral, I appreciate your help." He, with his cigar and a nonchalant look, nods at my statement and leaves.

Sulli: "He only has information about that guy named Hogan."

Dante: "It must be because he's already met with some Marines; from the moment they came to rescue me, Vice Admiral Sakazuki already knew about him, hence the information."

Isis: "It makes sense, what the information says."

Trini took the document and read it.

Trini: "An assassin who works directly for the King of the Underworld; in addition to the physique Dante already told us about, it's known that he has a Devil Fruit. It's unknown what it is, but it's believed to be a Paramecia that increases the damage of his blows. Of the three, he's the only one with a bounty, at 650,000,000 Belly."

Arthur: "A small thing, huh?"

Dante: "That's not important anymore; if we want to face them, we must first be in top condition and create a strategy. After all, we already know their abilities and personalities. What can you say about the other two?"

Arthur: "Black hair, blue eyes, male; he used a green hammer that had technology that helped boost speed, making his blows stronger, and it also gave him speed. He has a bit of a hard time turning, and he relies heavily on his weapon; if we take it away, we can defeat him more easily."

Dante: "Noted, regarding the chick." I know she's a woman because I heard Trini describe her as a crazy woman.

Sulli: "Blonde hair, green eyes, has the Bomb Devil Fruit, can explode any part of her body, and is immune to explosions. She can even explode body parts that have already been severed."

Isis: "She had a hairball, which she threw and exploded. She can explode individual hairs without any problem, and if she joins them with other hairs, she can make the explosion bigger and more powerful."

Trini: "She can also explode her blood. That's how she was able to escape. She made a wound and threw blood at the marines, who exploded. If she can explode blood, she can also explode other fluids in her body."

Dante: "A crazy, explosive blonde woman reminds me of someone; I'll classify her as dangerous." I didn't have time to write until Trini threw a shoe at my head.

Trini: "Say that again, brat."

Dante: "I'm resting; remember, I'm hurt, old hag."

She completely ignored my comment and jumped in to hit me.

And so the days until we reached Sabaody went by, full of ups and downs. What else awaits us? I just hope for nothing, since I want a good vacation before going after those assassins and, by default, going after the current king of the underworld, Frank Oxford.

*Somewhere in the New World.*

Third-person POV

Three people were entering a semi-dark room; they were Artic, Marie, and Hogan, returning from their failed mission. In the room, there was a throne, on which a person could be seen sitting very awkwardly; next to him were two beauties, pampering him and feeding him food.

Once in front of the person, they knelt and looked at the floor.

Hogan: "Chief, we've f—."

???: "Shut up."

The room was filled with a deathly silence; the two beauties realized the situation, so they bowed to the person on the throne and quickly left.

Hogan: "Chief, I know the situation."

???: "I said shut up." The three of them stood stiff, made no movement, and barely breathed. "I think you're deaf. Not only do you not hear what I'm saying, but you also don't do what I ask. I don't know how difficult it is to bring back the head of the guy who killed my brother." He said as he stomped on the floor, leaving cracks where he had hit.

Artic: "It's just that the Marines arrived, and they were so full of people."

He couldn't finish when a fireball hit him head-on; the explosion sent him flying into the wall, leaving him with third-degree burns and seriously injured. Despite all that, he decided to stay still and say nothing where he fell.

???: "I don't remember apologizing."

With one leg on fire, he kicked Marie, sending her flying away, just like Arctic.

???: "Get up." He said to Hogan, and she did as he asked: "I hope you don't let me down next time; they're too valuable to throw away, so next time, come back with this man's corpse or die trying, because if you come back empty-handed again, you'd rather die than face me, understood?"

Hogan: "Understood, boss."

???: "Good," and at that moment, with a fiery fist, he punched Hogan in the stomach; Hogan went through the wall, leaving him as badly injured as his other companions, or worse.

After looking at their condition and seeing that they'd learned a lesson, he vanished with a single movement, leaving a trail of fire in the air. Then, nothing remained, only the three of them, severely injured.

*Back with Dante and the others.*

Dante's POV

Dante: "Ah, as the saying goes, life is joy, or something like that; well, it rhymes, and that's important, along with health."

Right now, I was finishing writing the book that was almost destroyed in the storm; I was able to save several pages, but not some.

The important thing is that we're almost at the four seas, so the journey aided by the navy is almost over.

During this time, some things happened that are arguably important.

First, Sulli and Isis now have their Observation Haki at a basic level; with that, their importance in the team has risen significantly, and it will help them search for Shiki in this vast sea.

The second is related to the above. With Arthur's help, Sulli, with her Observation Haki, can guide him and give them instructions on how to join muscles, bones, and all of that. Thanks to this, they were able to join my bones and muscles more quickly, and I went from two months with the bandages to three weeks, a huge change. It was the first attempt, so it wasn't very good, but it helps, since for future injuries, like burns or even lost limbs, we can have a way to fix them with alchemy and medical science.

And that's adding to the fact that in the places we stopped, we made our share of heroes, making our prestige and fame rise even a little. I keep hoping beautiful women will throw themselves at me when they see me. Sadly, it hasn't happened yet.

We're almost there, and I asked the captain to take us to East Blue first, to investigate there. We'll start there and go clockwise across the seas until we return to the starting point. And if we don't find him, well, I'll see, but that hasn't happened yet, so I'm not worried about it right now.

Arthur: "Hey, Dante."

Dante: "What's up?"

Arthur: "The ship's captain says we'll reach East Blue tomorrow and Loguetown in one more day."

Dante: "Tell the others to meet in the mess hall to go over the plan and eat while we're at it; I'm hungry. Writing wakes up the tapeworm."

Arthur: "Worm, what?"

I decided not to answer; explaining the joke or the reference to something loses its value by mentioning it. Still, the parasite might have another name in this world. Besides, saying I don't have it—that's just a figure of speech, but we're getting off track.

Once in the dining room, he started eating first; on an empty stomach, you can't think straight. Once everyone was fed, we started talking about the plan.

Dante: "Look, I have this radar that detects Shiki's presence; we'll find him with this."

Isis: "Really?" she said cheerfully.

Dante: "No, I'm joking." What I'm holding in my hand isn't even a radar; it's a watch." She stared at me with a frown, abandoning the jokes. "The main idea is to find Shiki through the air."

Trini: "His Devil Fruit is annoying; besides, it's barely perceptible in the sky."

Dante: "That's why the idea is to separate."

Arthur: "Are you sure about that?"

Dante: "The idea is to find him, not fight him; that's why we split up. The sea of the four seas is very wide, so going together won't take long; it's best to go through certain sectors we'll designate and check those places."

Isis: "But how will we communicate with each other if one of us finds him?"

Dante: "With this," I said, taking out a bag of den den mushi for each of us, "I asked the Navy for these so we can communicate while we find Shiki; once this is done, we have to return them." I gave them one per person, except for me, who already had mine.

Trini: "Yes, but, in the hypothetical case where we face Shiki, how much of a problem is it?"

Dante: "As long as you know how to escape and hide, you should be fine."

Sulli: "He's so good with his fruit. He could levitate people and take them into custody."

Dante: "Honestly, I don't know if he can do that, so it's best to avoid him as much as possible." I don't think his fruit can do that, but I know that from the anime; I can't say the anime told me it couldn't.

Source: I made that up.

Trini: "If he senses us, if we manage to find him, we just have to escape and warn the others of his location."

Dante: "Once we know where he is, we just have to warn the marines, and that's it; our job is done."

What none of them know is that the sector I'll be searching for is where the mugiwara travel. And from what I understand, Shiki left no trace of him being there. So I'll just do nothing and rest; after all, I'll be alone.

While the others are working hard, I'll be on vacation.

From what I understand, Shiki should be in Paradise at the very least. All of this is an excuse to rest, even if it's for at least three months, and do nothing.

The best plan is no one will know. The best plan, literally.

Dante: "With all said and done, let's wait until we get to Loguetown to get some important things and go exploring."

And with all that, everyone went off to do their own thing. I was already finishing the book, so I'd like to have it ready and not have to write while I'm on vacation.

*Skip a few days*

Arthur: "So the pirate king died here." I was walking with Arthur and Isis through Loguetown. As for Trini and Sulli, I have no idea what they're doing.

Isis: "Who managed to capture him? That person must be very strong."

Dante: "No idea, maybe Kong." Roger voluntarily surrendered, but they couldn't tell the public that, so the information about his capture is very ambiguous.

Arthur: "What are his companions doing now?"

One is with an Amazon and the other with a giant, so he should be fine. As for the rest, they're probably still alive, I think.

Dante: "Well, it's almost time. Let's go to the cabin to meet up and leave tomorrow morning to find Shiki." They both nodded. "While we're at it, let's find some food for Hun; he's been doing nothing for months."

After we'd seen and bought everything we needed, we headed to our meeting place. When we arrived, Trini and Sulli were already waiting for us. I gave Hun a large piece of steak, and we went over the final details of our mission/vacation. I have to make this charade as realistic as possible so they don't get suspicious.

Dante: "How's your Observation Haki coming along?"

Isis: "Good."

Sulli: "Decent."

Arthur: "Yes."

I'll take your answer as meaning everything is in order. I skipped Trini for obvious reasons.

Dante: "His Haki should be more than enough; just try to see if there are any missing islands or people, as that could give clues that it could be Shiki. It could also be some thug, but the islands can only be Garp or Shiki."

Isis: "Why Garp?"

Dante: "Because that old man tends to come to this sea a lot, and he's capable of wiping a small island off the map."

They tried to fathom that fact, but it was a bit complicated. Having seen the anime, it was easy for me.

With all this seen, we were ready to leave.

*The next day*

I was ready to leave, along with Hun. I had spoken with a man who would help me get to Orange Island, and from there I was going to the Kingdom of Goa, continuing on to Cocomi Island, and returning to Loguetown.

And with all this, I set off.

The voyage was very peaceful, too peaceful, considering that not long ago the great age of piracy had begun. Talking with the captain, it turned out that Vice Admiral Garp was currently at sea, and with that, I had a sense of how peaceful everything was.

Garp, every time he came, destroyed most of the pirate crews, leaving only the most cunning or those who knew how to hide and go unnoticed. Hence, the East Blue is the weakest sea.

As time passed on the journey to my destination, I started thinking about the next book I could write.

In the end, I decided to write a horror story. I'm going to write two books, the first being Coraline; I haven't decided yet whether to write the book or the film adaptation, and the other one is Pet Sematary.

I'll probably write between trips; being on the island, I'll relax completely.

I also called Morgans to send his bird to pick up the book I already finished and to pay me for the rest of what we agreed on for the books.

*On Orange Island*

To be honest, I was hoping for something more. There isn't much to this city in the anime, since it's all about coming and going, with almost no depth, at least as far as the city itself is concerned.

There is a strange feeling, though, as if something isn't right.

Dante: "Hun, look at the sky and see if there's a floating island or something."

Hun: [Immediately.]

And he flies off my shoulder. I don't think Shiki is here, but you never know.

While I'm at it, I'll check out the city to see if there's anything interesting around here.

The people there are self-conscious, as if looking at someone feels like they're about to be hit, like a drunken father hitting his child.

The lucky people here look each other in the eye.

I approached someone waiting in line.

Dante: "Hi, I just arrived on this island, and I feel like the air here is a bit strange. Can you explain what's going on here?" I decided to get straight to the point.

Person: "I don't know what you're talking about."

Dante: "Come on, I can tell something's going on here, and I'm curious to know what it is."

Person: "I recommend you stay out of business that doesn't concern you; if it were me, I'd get out of here as soon as I could."

I was about to speak, but at that moment, a loud noise was heard. Looking toward the source, I saw a person leaving a place that looked like a bar.

Bartender: "Please, they've already taken almost all the alcohol from my place. I can barely make a profit, so I can't pay their taxes."

Thug 1: "Do you think I care?"

Thug 2: "I think we should teach him and his family a lesson, don't you, boss?"

Here's the reason, thugs. But they don't look like thugs; they look more like pirates, maybe ex-pirates or something.

Chief Thug: "I think he has a daughter; she'll make a good consolation prize, along with his wife."

Well, I didn't need to hear any more. I went straight to where the guys were; there were six of them, including their boss. The person I was talking to tried to stop me, but I ignored him.

The bartender was crying and begging for mercy, while the thugs mocked him.

Dante: "I don't think that's possible. Why? Because I'm here." I said when I was a good distance away from the thugs.

Thug 1: "Oh? Who do you think you are?"

Thug 5: "You think your big sword can intimidate us?"

Thug 3: "This guy looks familiar, boss."

Thug 4: "Boss, how about we take his sword away? He'd look really good with it."

When I heard that last bit, I started laughing. I think it could be heard all over the city; I may have strained my voice quite a bit, just so the citizens of this place know that these guys are nothing more than clowns to me.

Dante: "I don't think you can do it, since you're all very weak," I said with a mocking smile.

That angered the six of them.

Thug 2: "You won't say that when we're butchering you alive, moron."

Thug 4: "Boss, give us the signal to attack."

I was planning on using Conqueror's Haki to knock out the thugs, but I didn't want to overwhelm the citizens, since I can't command it yet. So I'll just use my sword.

I drew it from its sheath, and when the boss thug was about to speak, I attacked him with a power surge, cutting off his rant before it even began.

The attack hit him head-on. The attack passed by, as if it hadn't hit him, only to see the guy cut in two.

It was completely my mistake; after fighting so many strong people, I forgot to lower my power for these kinds of people.

What's done is done. Still, from what I heard, he deserved to die. That doesn't excuse anything, and I shouldn't have killed him, but the past is past, and it can't be changed.

Everyone was stunned by what happened. Both the thugs and the people watching.

Dante: "Now, you will get on the ground, put your arms behind your backs, and remain still, unless you want the same or worse fate." It's a lie. I wouldn't kill you, but you shouldn't know I'm lying; let them believe the story.

The thugs did what I told them in silence. The citizens also remained silent.

Dante: "People of Orange City, your problem has been solved. For nothing."

There was no movement anywhere. Until a kid started celebrating out of nowhere, only for others to join in, and then everyone ended up celebrating, just as if I hadn't killed a person.

Many people started surrounding me to thank me. Suddenly, one of the people recognized me and started praising me even more. It's good to be alive. Mayor Boodle approached me to express his gratitude and to say there would be a celebration.

While all that was being prepared, I went to help lock the submissive thugs in a log on the outskirts of town, since they didn't have anything resembling a jail here. Tomorrow morning I would call the Loguetown barracks to tell them what had happened here and to tell them to take the guys away.

Once all the preparations were complete, the party began. Everyone on Orange Island came to celebrate. There was food, dancing, and alcohol, which was found in the thugs' hideout.

After eating and celebrating with some random guys—since I don't know anyone here, and anyone I interacted with would be strangers—I went to a somewhat secluded place to drink alcohol.

When I'm with others, they don't let me drink anything with alcohol in it. I have no idea why, but now that I'm alone, no one will stop me.

After downing a glass in one gulp, I sighed in satisfaction. Right after, I saw someone sitting next to me.

The moment I saw her, I froze. Next to me was a beautiful woman, a succubus body, a beautiful face, brown eyes, and long orange hair.

Orange hair.

...

I was left wondering.

Nami?

It can't be her.

Nami must be a fetus or something. It's been four years since the death of the Pirate King, so Luffy hasn't been born yet. By default, Nami might or might not have been born already, since she's a year older than Luffy. And Luffy was born about five years after Roger died, if my calculations are correct.

???: "What is the hero of Orange City thinking so much about?"

Shit, I was stuck thinking as I continued to stare at her face.

Dante: "I've never seen such a beautiful woman in my life." What a shitty line, that's the first thing I thought; maybe what I said wasn't a lie.

???: "Pfff, hahahahahaha." I froze. I don't know what I said to make her laugh. "You know, you're not the first man to say something like that to me," shit, I think I've already screwed up, "but I feel like you're the first one who says it with good intentions." Or maybe not.

Dante: "Before we continue, I'd like to know the name of this beautiful lady." I had to find out if it was Nami or not; it was obvious she wasn't, but I couldn't get the possibility out of my head.

Nix: "My name is Nix, oh, Sir Dante."

It shouldn't be her; perhaps her mother or aunt, too young to be her grandmother.

Dante: "Are you from this city by any chance?"

Nix: "No, I'm just passing through; like you, I'm traveling the sea. I want to see the wonders of this world with my own eyes."

Dante: "What a nice dream, but a dangerous one."

Nix: "I know, I have ways to defend myself, but I wouldn't mind you teaching me a little more, just to be safe." He gave me a smile that nearly broke my heart.

He took a sip from a nearby glass of beer.

Dante: "Sure, as long as you can give me something in return."

And so the night passed: I continued flirting with Nix and drinking alcohol until I passed out.

*The next day*

My head hurts so much. I opened my eyes, not knowing where I was; it was a place I didn't know. I was lying in bed, naked. I was alone, and the scent of the place was somewhat unusual, like my sister's, but different.

Suddenly, the bedroom door opened, only to see Nix standing there in just a nightgown that left little to the imagination.

Nix: "I see the lion's finally awake; with everything we did last night, I thought you'd sleep all day."

I was confused; it must be because I'm just waking up and have a headache.

I looked around and analyzed the place. A big bed, a sexy woman in a nightgown, a bloodstain on the sheets, and neither of us is hurt.

Not to say I lost my virginity and don't remember it.

May Dante from Devil May Cry win.

Nix: "I've already made breakfast; come join me." She said as she turned around to walk away, swaying her hips hypnotically.

I curse everything because I can't remember almost anything from last night. How unfair life is.

I put on a pair of pants I had and followed her into the living room, where I sat on the couch to think.

Dante: "Hey, Nix, what happened last night?" I already had an idea, but I like to confirm facts, not just have vague ideas, no matter how much sense they make.

Nix: "Don't tell me you don't remember anything." He sounded a little sad.

Dante: "Sadly, yes, I think I drank too much."

Neither of us said anything.

I looked at Nix, only to see her approach me.

She stood in front of me, pulled me back onto the couch, straddled me, put her arms around my arms, and looked into my eyes.

Nix: "Then I just have to repeat last night's wonderful experience and leave you firmly embedded in my mind." At that moment, I kissed her on the lips.

I was surprised, but not for long, as I kissed her back. I placed my hands on her hips and kissed her back as she moved her hips against my pelvis.

We both started to get aroused and began undressing, not caring about what we were doing before.

Third-Person POV

While Dante and Nix behaved like animals in heat, something was watching them both.

Hun was in a corner of the room, watching the reproductive act of both beings, who can no longer be called conscious humans, silently recording everything that happened, both last night and today, and the rest of the days he would spend on Orange Island, as Trini had asked him to before leaving to find Shiki.

Hi, hello, I'm here to talk about the 18+ scenes in this fic, since I've never written one in my life, so I don't know whether to write it or do all that off-screen.

Anyway, at least there won't be any this time, but next time I'll have thought enough about it to decide whether to write them or not.

Just so you know, I'm not forcing you to comment on the fic, since when I ask you to do something like that, you don't. So if you say something or there are a lot of people who want me to write it, then I can try. Just to test it out.
