Mia Ginger answered the phone.
She walked to the window holding her cellphone and softly said, "Hello."
"Mia?" Koa Jackson called out, as if he knew she was already there, and directly asked, "Have you packed everything?"
"No, I just got here."
"Alright," Koa paused slightly, his voice low and gentle, "I forgot to ask what colors and styles you like, so I prepared five dresses. You can wear them in the future too. Did Aunt Lee show them to you?"
"I saw them, thank you."
Koa paused for a moment, "You're welcome."
After a brief silence, he added, "I finish work at five, and then I'll head over to the Ginger Family."
"Okay."
"Have you been practicing dancing these days?" Koa asked again.
"Yes." Mia didn't quite know what to say, answering each question asked.
Soon, Koa hung up the phone.
Mia felt a sense of loss.
This feeling lingered all the way home and still hadn't faded.
