Clifford's smile widened as he leaned back in his office chair. He was certain Victor wouldn't dare reveal that particular information about Elena during the audit. Even though her whereabouts were still unknown, they had a plan—to file her as a wanted person and freeze all her assets. That would surely flush her out of hiding. And once that happened, Clifford believed he'd finally get full control.
The board would lose respect for Victor if they ever found out he tried to protect Elena. In Clifford's mind, it was a win-win. Either way, he'd come out on top—and he couldn't wait for tomorrow's board meeting.
