Chapter 2 - chapter 1 prologue

Unknown Narrator POV:

Eren Cross was bored out of his mind in his class.

Bored about so many things:About his life, his bullies, his family, his teachers, his school.

And then came the thing that made his life hell: his older brother, Cale Cross.Saying he was just a dickhead was an understatement.Beating him up, making fun of him, using him as his punching bag and slave.

And his father, John Cross, who always yelled about how fat Eren was,How stupid he was,How he kept getting low grades.

And of course, his bitch of a sister, Erica Cross, who always looked at him with hate and disdain.Must comment on his appearance.Must spread rumors about him like he was her goddamn ex or something. What the fuck did he ever do to her?

And then, of course, his mother—Maria Cross. She was the worst of them all.Not because of what she did,But because of what she didn't do.

He didn't understand her, and that was scary.Like Lovecraft said: humans are most afraid of the things they don't understand. And Eren didn't understand his mother.Because she did absolutely nothing.

She didn't acknowledge Eren's existence.Never looked at him.Never made him food.Never talked to him.Never did anything to him.

And that was worse than his brother's bullying and servitude.Worse than his father's yelling.Worse than his sister's hate.He could take all of that. But being ignored like he never existed—by his own mother—That hurt him more mentally than he would ever admit.

He didn't understand what she was doing at first. Then he understood. It was simply... the highest degree of neglect. It hurt. That the mother—who's supposed to love her children equally, fear for them, cheer for them—Didn't do any of that for him.Worse—she didn't acknowledge his existence at all.

He hated that. A lot.Because deep down?He wanted their love.He wanted their pride. He wanted his brother to boast about him to his friends and have his back. His father to praise him.His little sister to love him.His mother to know him.To be popular at school...

Heheheheheheh.

He fucking said he hated them to the bone. But he fucking wanted their recognition so.So.SOOOOO badly.

Damn it.Damn it.Damn it all.

But there was a simple, small ray of light.A moon in his pitch-black life.And it wasn't a person.Not a girlfriend.Not a fucking animal.

It was a fucking game.A game so corny it called itself:

"A Five-Part Fantasy Epic Called Swordborn: Testament of the Gods."

So fucking corny.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHow pathetic, really.

His ray of light was something completely fictional.Pointless.Wouldn't help him in real life.Wouldn't change anything.Really.

But he played.Oh, he played.Played all five parts.Tried to gather and understand all the lore. But it was fucking 10% at most.He swears—that can't be the whole fucking lore. There must be hidden lore or something, RIGHT?RIGHT?Or...

Simply—the writer of the story is trash with a trash-can of talent. And the developers are goddamn insane.

All the bosses have over 50 million attack patterns. And it fucking adapts to the player's strategy.

That...That...That is pure fucking bullshit. How is one even supposed to play?

And not to mention the so fucking complex power system.Who fucking cares about "Testament Paths" or whatever. Can't it be something fucking simple like Level 1 to Level 100?

So, of course, Eren wasn't able to defeat the game. After all, if the best gamer in the world didn't manage to complete it—Who the fuck was Eren, right?

The number-one loser, and crybaby, and whiny bitch.Impressive, really, how useless he is.

But Eren felt something closer to kinship with the MC of the game.Ethan Lovestream.

The first time Eren heard that fucking last name,He fell out of his chair laughing his ass off.

Like Cross was a better last name.Edgy as saying "I am the Prince of Darkness," bruh.

The reason Eren felt kinship with Ethan?Well... I don't have a fucking idea.

It just... kinda... happened?

Bullshitic, Eren, I presume.Dude not right in the head.

I'll tell you why.'Cause while he was playing,He talked to Ethan like Ethan was fucking real.

Anyway—

After the dumb idiot didn't even manage to defeat the first bossIn the first actIn the first part of the gameAnd realized that no gamer or player has ever managed...

He got angry.

He is so dumb. Why get angry at a fucking game, bruh?

No bruh. What the fuck is bruh anyway?

Instead of waiting for some big-shot gamer to beat the game,He did something else.

Question: What did he do?Here, I'll give you four choices:

A) Nothing. Got back to being bored out of his mind.B) Tried cheat codes like a cheater and a loser.C) Became determined to beat the fucking game and kept trying again and again till he beat it like a champ. (Unlikely)D) Kept praying to GOD like a whiny bitch for 6 months, like GOD would answer him, or like there's a real world like that of the game, to fucking get isekai'd into.Where he'd die in like 0.001 seconds to a slime—and I'm being generous by a lot.

So what did you choose?

Well, if you chose D)—Congrats. You win nothing useful. And it's fucking obvious.

Anyway—In the sixth month...Something answered.

And gave Eren the isekai ticket.

WOOH! Let's gooooo! DIEEEEEE!

Well—He got isekai'd.He didn't isekai as the MC.Nor the villain.Nor the anti-hero.Nor the final boss (which he's never seen).Nor even the heroine.

No.

The most cursed character of all—The fucking support character.

By the way—me, the unknown narrator?

Is me. EREN FUCKING CROSS himself.

So why was I referring to myself in third person?

Well, because—Ah, right.

Right now I'm like a dumb bitch having an identity crisis,Since...

If I am Eren Cross isekai'd into Tony Starlight's body—The middle child of the Count family—Also known as "The Loser" or "The Disgrace"—

(Starlight is a corny last name, by the way.)

Or...

Am I Tony Starlight but received Eren Cross's pitiful, useless memories?

Or...

Am I the fusion of the two dumb, pitiful loser soulsMaking me the supreme whiny loser bitch?

So yeah.

Identity crisis.

Damn it.

In fanfics and web novels, they make this shit sound easy.
