Ericka. She sadly mentioned, as Jasmin watched and listened to the conversation between the two. She returned to the place where she belonged.
"Jasmin." She called softly.
"They will be in danger." She even said to her companion.
She just sighed. "I know that they will be in danger, but I also know that the truth will prevail." Ellese said.
"I want to rest, but I can't see the light. Is that how it is? I want to rest and not drag anyone else into the mess." She just shook her head.
"We understand your feelings, even if we have to force ourselves to forgive and forget everything that happened, including the death. Hopefully—hopefully we will have moved on by now, and we won't still be here, Jasmin." Felisa explained.
"But, when someone like us is thirsty for justice, even if we are tired, even if we are just waiting for our worries to disappear, a soul like ours, a victim of human greed, will keep doing and doing…" Ellese made a melancholic remark.
"I know there are other ways." Jasmin, who is opposed to what is happening now, said,.
"What method do you know, Jasmin?" Felisa asked her.
"I know you're sad about what's happening now. I'm sorry, but we want to find the justice that has been denied to us for so long."
"We don't want to achieve justice this way, by putting our loved ones in danger…"
She didn't say anything and forced a smile; Ellese and Felisa gradually faded away.
"Jasmin, I know you will understand us someday." After saying that, it disappeared from her sight.
She just sighed. He watches the women, who are increasingly multiplying now, crying and sometimes losing their composure. She feels pity when she glimpses the past of their life in this world.
He also saw Ruth's parents.
Ruth? No, it's Chesca. Jasmin immediately told herself that he was looking at it with sadness and grief, seemingly accepting its death, but one could see on her face a desire for revenge and to achieve justice.
Jasmin shook her head; she was now among those called restless souls, because her soul was still traveling between the physical world and the spiritual world, wandering now in the physical world.
Just like when she was alive, the city she now inhabits is full of life, with many young people walking home. Her longing for life, which had ended so easily, stirred her feelings once again.
Jasmin hears the laughter, the conversations, the honking of vehicles, and the buildings filled with people. She was still walking while her spiritual body freely passed through the people on the street.
A young boy begging on the street caught her eye; she observed the struggles of his life. She only shook her head at what she saw.
Indeed, the world is full of sorrow and masks.
She also witnessed the rape of a young girl in a quiet, narrow, and dark alley. She wanted to help her, but how could she help?
Even when someone passes by, it appears they disregard the poor girl's cries and choose to ignore such incidents.
If I hadn't died, I wouldn't be able to see events like this. My parents protect me, which is a blessing in a world where only a few dwell. She thought to herself, just walk away, thinking about what she had seen.
If I were alive, could I help her? Jasmin wondered in her mind. Am I like the others who pretend not to hear? Where do I stand between the two? self-reflection.
She became even sadder, so she ended up in a place that was familiar to her.
Jasmin saw herself when a man rescued her. She sees in herself the fear and anxiety, wondering how she would save herself.
She suddenly went back inside the warehouse. When she lost consciousness, what woke her up were the cries and screams of the captured women.
She regained consciousness there, only to find her hands tied so tightly that she was unable to escape. She was visibly perspiring and gripped with fear when she suddenly became hoarse and unable to speak.
The man on guard noticed her and covered her mouth, making it difficult for her to breathe. Her hands remained tied; the man tugged her forcefully, and she sensed a presence following her. The fear she felt that night was overwhelming.
Jasmin hears the screams, shouts, and cries of the women again; she sees that every room contains locked-up women; sometimes she observes a naked woman being forced to have sex with an old man, and Jasmin notices the woman's face showing objection and fear.
There was a room where her intestines were turned inside out; she almost fainted. People in lab gowns were cutting open the body of the dying woman. Jasmin met the gaze of that woman, pleading and in immense pain. She saw so much blood. She saw what the people in lab coats took, but it was the entrails of the woman she met with her gaze, whose only support in her suffering were her tears.
Jasmin almost lost consciousness from what she witnessed. The smell of decaying bodies filled a room, suggesting that the warehouse was also hosting experiments. The smell of a putrid and decaying body greeted her; there, she couldn't help but vomit. Jasmin could no longer look inside, because if she did, maybe—maybe she would lose consciousness.
She is already afraid for her life. If she didn't escape from the warehouse, she would be haunted by an unforgettable event: the sight of mangled human bodies, a faceless person being placed in a large trash bag, and where lifeless bodies were thrown— innocent women who quietly ventured into the world above.
The silence engulfed her as she understood that the warehouse was a private space and should remain private.
Jasmin returned to the endless darkness. The siblings just stared at her silently, not saying a word.
