After concluding the deal with Sasame, Terumi Mei let out a sigh of relief and leaned back in the Mizukage's chair, crossing her fair legs.
These past few days, she had been constantly stressed over money. Now, she could finally relax—at least a little.
Of course, the underlying problems hadn't disappeared. After all, those 700 million ryo were borrowed and would eventually have to be repaid.
With Sasame's strength, trying to skip out on the debt was impossible.
Especially since he was backed by a mysterious and powerful organization.
If Terumi Mei hadn't been pushed to the brink by desperation, she would never have resorted to such a measure.
Sasame leaned against the window, watching her with amusement.
Today, she was still wearing that blue dress.
"I have a question," Terumi Mei looked up, her emerald-green eyes filled with curiosity and a hint of unease.
"You said I'd be working for you for two and a half years—but what exactly would I be doing?"
Even though they had already set conditions, who knew if his demands would be… excessive?
"I haven't decided yet," Sasame waved his hand dismissively. "I'll let you know when the time comes."
"Fine."
Terumi Mei suppressed her unease and asked seriously, "The commission you issued—we've gathered the required numbers. Where do we begin?"
"Oh, that. My people from the merchant association will arrive soon. Just follow their instructions."
Sasame had no intention of overseeing things personally.
With the Hidden Mist Village's support, any problems could be handled easily.
In short—less hassle.
"Ah, one more thing." Sasame suddenly remembered the Land of Whirlpools. "I want to bring the Land of Whirlpools under my control. Will that cause any issues?"
Terumi Mei was slightly surprised, though it made sense.
From a shipping perspective, securing the Land of Whirlpools would be highly convenient.
"The Land of Whirlpools holds no value now. With the Land of Water and the Hidden Mist Village backing you, there shouldn't be any trouble."
She paused, then added, "The only concern is the Hidden Leaf Village. They might react."
"Don't worry about the Hidden Leaf," Sasame pointed upward with a finger. "I have connections up there."
"…?"
Terumi Mei's heart skipped a beat. She couldn't help but mutter, "You really are full of surprises."
"Good health means more networking, and more connections," Sasame joked.
Well, it wasn't entirely a joke—his looks did help him get by.
Right now, the Hidden Leaf had no time to worry about the Land of Whirlpools. By the time they noticed, Tsunade would already be Hokage.
Having "connections up there" was a solid advantage.
"Alright." Sasame looked at her. "Then, Mizukage-sama, would you accompany me to the Land of Whirlpools again?"
Terumi Mei froze, recalling the last time they visited the ruins of Uzushiogakure—when Sasame had held her.
A faint ache stirred in her chest. She averted her gaze to the documents on her desk.
Logically, she was too busy to leave the village.
And for a place as insignificant as the Land of Whirlpools, her presence was unnecessary.
"…Fine."
Before she knew it, she had agreed. Then, regaining her composure, she added coolly, "But there must be proper compensation."
"I thought our earlier deal would at least get me one free mission?" Sasame shrugged, feigning disappointment.
"I mean—" Terumi Mei panicked slightly. "If I leave the village, it has to be an official mission."
A blatant lie.
As Mizukage, she could come and go as she pleased.
Sasame didn't call her out. "Then I'll come back another time."
Terumi Mei blinked. Next time? She had assumed they'd go today.
"Oh, one more question." Sasame straddled the windowsill. "Can you sing? Or is your singing… deadly?"
"Sing?" Terumi Mei looked puzzled.
"Yeah, sing." Sasame repeated seriously.
"I've never sung before," she admitted after confirming he wasn't joking.
"Next time I visit, sing for me, okay?" Sasame pressed further.
"…?"
Terumi Mei's composed expression faltered.
Before she could respond, Sasame made the decision for her.
"It's settled, then!"
Before his voice even faded, he was already gone.
Terumi Mei stood frozen for a few seconds before a faint blush crept onto her cheeks.
Why did I agree to that?
Wait—I didn't agree!
But… should I sing for him?
She fell into deep contemplation.
Using the Flying Thunder God Technique, Sasame appeared in the Land of Waves' daimyo residence.
Uzumaki Ena had become the president of the Thousand Sunny Merchant Association.
While she wasn't exceptionally brilliant, she hadn't made any major mistakes either.
Given time, she'd likely improve.
Since Uzumaki Ena already knew about the Flying Thunder God Technique, she wasn't startled by his sudden arrival.
"What would you like to drink?" She immediately set aside her work and asked.
"Do you have black tea?" Sasame asked, recalling a certain meme.
"Yes."
Uzumaki Ena opened the door and returned shortly with a cup of black tea.
But Sasame didn't take it.
"Wh-what's wrong?" Uzumaki Ena worried she had made a mistake.
"Wrong outfit. You should be wearing a maid dress," Sasame said solemnly.
Uzumaki Ena stared blankly for a moment before sighing in resignation.
After spending so much time with him, she had come to accept that Sasame was, frankly, a pervert.
His endless unconventional ideas constantly challenged her worldview.
"One moment."
She set the tea aside and stepped into the adjacent room.
Her office had a side door installed specifically for situations like this.
Soon, Uzumaki Ena reappeared before Sasame.
She wore a classic black-and-white maid dress, her arms covered by long gloves that extended into sleeves.
A small bell hung around her neck, chiming softly as she moved.
The skirt stopped mid-thigh, revealing black stockings underneath.
Holding the hem of her dress, Uzumaki Ena curtsied gracefully and smiled.
"Welcome back, Master."
Sasame nodded in satisfaction and sprawled on the sofa.
"Feed me the tea."
"As you wish, Master."
Her eyes shimmering, Uzumaki Ena took a sip of tea before passing it to Sasame's lips.
By the time the cup was empty, half an hour had passed.
"Will you be staying tonight?"
She looked down at Sasame, her fingers gently massaging his temples as he rested his head on her lap.
"Hm? Why?" Sasame found it odd—she had never asked him to stay before.
"I've successfully mastered the Yin Seal. I'd like my Master to… test its effects."
Her cheeks flushed as her hands trailed downward.
Lowering her snow-white neck, she smiled shyly.
"It took me so long to learn it. Maybe I lack talent… Please go easy on me."
"We'll see after testing it." Sasame smirked.
Uzumaki Ena released the Yin Seal, and a surge of chakra flooded her body.
In this state, no matter the damage she took, she would recover instantly.
Sasame didn't hold back. Drawing the Sword of the Thunder God, he channeled his chakra and struck with full force. Blood spilled—
But within moments, the wounds sealed themselves.
"The Yin Seal… truly lives up to its name."
Sasame, on the other hand, was left thoroughly exhausted.
