Alfred raised his hand and gestured to a servant who was passing by. Without needing to say much, the servant understood and came over to clean up the mess left behind. When Alfred turned back, his eyes rested on Elias, who was still lying on the couch, his eyes closed as if the weight of the world was pressing down on him.
"Can you stand?" Alfred asked quietly, his voice carrying a mix of concern and duty.
Elias moved his head slowly from side to side, his strength too little for anything more. "How long… how long will it take before I get my strength back?" His voice was weak, tired, as if speaking at all took effort.
Alfred watched him carefully, studying his pale face. "The poison almost reached your heart. Your body needs time to push it out. A day, maybe two, if you rest." His voice was steady, but his eyes did not leave Elias.
Elias let out a sigh, his chest rising and falling with the sound of defeat. "Such a bother…" he muttered, almost to himself.
