Detective Haxton played a pop music — Moonlight by Danis Hewyes— as the car moved on a highway road.
At least, the thoughts of a music playing would distract the mind from this slightly awkward moment. None of them had talked since.
As Haxton turned the steering left, the car drifting into a free, lone road, he asked Cade, who never removed his distant eyes from the front whatsoever,
"So... How're you going to find the evidence?"
"Resort to abduction," Cade replied bluntly.
Detective Haxton frowned as he stared at him for some seconds, then sighed and looked back forward. He nodded. "That, you're allowed for now." Then immediately, he stuck his finger at Cade and rushed to say, "BUT... know I'm adding it to your charges once we get done with this case."
Cade swiftly turned at him, his expression almost emotionless, with some wrinkles at the corners of his lips that showed frustration. "Guess you don't want me to carry on the mission anymore."
