Chapter 87 - Chapter 87: Departure, Target: Stirring Trouble!

That night, Link did not go home with Mrs. Flamel, but stayed in the Black Gold Magical Beast Shop under the pretext of studying how to raise a Coilwing Demon.

Mrs. Flamel had no objections to this. Because this had already become a very common occurrence.

You must know, Mrs. Flamel is a very busy person. In order to manage the Flamel family's businesses outside, she often works late into the night before returning home.

So from a young age, Link liked to run to the Black Gold Magical Beast Shop. Here, he could not only play with magical creatures, but also listen to Krell talk about his past adventures.

Most importantly, Krell's control over Link in all aspects, especially regarding food, was not very strict.

Therefore, Link often sneaked with Krell up to Diagon Alley to eat all kinds of things that Mrs. Flamel called junk food.

This time was naturally no exception. Mrs. Flamel had just left when Krell grinned at Link and directly pulled out a huge pile of things from under the counter, such as Blower Super Bubble Gum, Bibi Flavor Beans, Chocolate Frogs, and Syrup Pies. Link's eyes widened at the sight.

Now he finally understood why the previous host had been a bit chubby. Turns out it was all Krell's doing.

With a sigh of emotion, in the end, Link still reached out to the pile of snacks under Krell's expectant gaze.

Of course. His main target was the Syrup Pies.

As for those Bibi Flavor Beans, which had a chance of tasting like boogers or stinkbugs, and those Chocolate Frogs that could move like real frogs, he absolutely wouldn't touch them.

That was truly too much like dark cuisine.

And in between snacking, Link didn't neglect the main business either, and began asking about the feeding of Coilwing Demons.

To this, Krell naturally had endless things to say. According to his description, Coilwing Demons were actually extremely easy-to-raise creatures. Because they are mostly in a dormant state, as their owner, you just need to feed them some "Hairy Coconuts" filled with pig brain jelly inside once a week.

Of course, overfeeding is not advisable. That would cause Coilwing Demons to become fat and deformed, and could even lead to some illnesses.

Especially if you want to maintain the combat effectiveness of a Coilwing Demon, you even have to extend the feeding cycle, keeping it in a constant slightly hungry state.

Link deeply agreed with this. He had heard similar theories in documentaries from his past life, an animal's aggressiveness is directly tied to how full it is.

In the following days, Krell also taught Link some beast-taming techniques to help him more safely and freely control the Coilwing Demon Yoyo.

This process should have been cruel and long. After all, Coilwing Demons aren't very intelligent, and conventional taming methods rely on pain punishment and food rewards.

But for Link, it was different. He completely abandoned the pain-punishment method and trained Yoyo into full submission within a week using only food rewards, obedient like a little puppy.

Krell was so shocked his jaw almost dropped, and in the end, he could only marvel at Link's extraordinary affinity with animals.

And just as Link completed the final taming lesson with the Coilwing Demon, Mrs. Flamel finally returned.

But unlike last time, today Mrs. Flamel wore a wide, pure black formal gown. On her head was a black silk-flower hat, and from its brim hung a fine black veil, covering most of her face, only those red lips remained visible.

This made her appear both mysterious and imposing.

"Link, get ready. We're setting out for the Victoria Manor." Mrs. Flamel spoke slowly and elegantly tossed a traceless extension charm bag to Link.

This had been arranged long ago, so Link didn't say much, directly grabbed the bag and went into the inner room.

While waiting for Link to change, Krell came out from behind the counter and asked, "What's this? That stingy old bastard from the Victoria family is throwing a banquet too? And he actually invited you?"

"He wants to use the banquet to find a good husband for Emily. Of course, he wouldn't invite me to that kind of banquet," Mrs. Flamel sneered. "However, just because he doesn't invite me, doesn't mean I can't show up uninvited, right?"

At these words, Krell was stunned for a moment, then grinned wickedly and said, "That's how it should be! That daughter of his caused little Link so much harm, it's only natural she should offer herself in compensation, right? Can't believe he even dares go back on that in private! Looks like it's time I gave him a lesson! You know many of his businesses only run because we cover for him!"

Mrs. Flamel gave Krell a sidelong glance and said, "Go easy. Don't beat him to death with one strike. Those will be Link's assets in the future."

"Hehehe, don't worry, I know what to do." Krell rubbed his hands and grinned.

Just then, the inner room's door opened.

Mrs. Flamel and Krell instinctively turned their heads and saw a refined young man slowly walking toward them.

Link was wearing a formal suit just like Mrs. Flamel's, pure black.

The only difference was that Link's suit was more fitted and had a row of golden buttons, along with a complex tower-shield emblem, the Flamel family crest.

This outfit didn't make Link look bloated; instead, it made him appear even more elegant.

Looking at the approaching Link, both Mrs. Flamel and Krell were stunned. Especially Krell, who almost shed tears.

"So much alike! Link! You look so much like your grandfather!" Krell choked up, but before he finished speaking, Mrs. Flamel gave him a hard slap on the head.

"How does he look like that old man! Link clearly takes after me!" Mrs. Flamel said angrily. And the slapped Krell glared back at her.

He was no house-elf in the manor to be hit and scolded as she pleased.

Seeing the two about to argue, Link laughed and quickly stepped forward to separate them.

"Alright, let's go! Also, Grandpa Krell, we're heading out first. Take care of yourself!"

While speaking, Link pulled Mrs. Flamel out of the Black Gold Magical Beast Shop.

Hearing this, Krell instinctively showed a "kind" smile and waved to send Link off.

It was only after a long while that he remembered he still had a score to settle with Mrs. Flamel. But at this moment, the shop was already empty.

"Tsk!" Krell clicked his tongue in dissatisfaction, then touched his slapped red forehead and walked into the back room, finding a large raven and said to it, "Tell those lazy bums to get to work. The target is the Victoria family's goods."

The raven flapped its wings and spoke in a strange tone, "Victoria! Victoria! Kill them all! Kill…"

Smack!

Krell slapped the raven's head hard, just like Mrs. Flamel slapped him earlier.

"It's 'rob the goods'! Don't kill them all. Leave a few alive to send a message!"

"Victoria, rob the goods." The raven repeated again.

Only this time, the tone was much weaker. "That's right, just like that. Go."

Krell nodded in satisfaction, and watching the raven take off, he grinned wickedly.
