Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: Strategy-Begins

Scene opens in a quiet workspace where Skand is mixing various powders and liquids with focused intensity.

Gaurav (whispering to Chacha):Do you have any idea what exactly he's doing? I still can't figure it out.

Chacha (also watching Skand):Neither do I. But whatever it is... he's been working on it nonstop for days.

Several Days Later

Skand keeps meeting with weavers and dyers, experimenting with different materials and colors. Every day, he's deep in discussion and hands-on with fabric-making.

A Few Weeks Later – In the Haveli Hall

Everyone is seated in the large hall. There's a sense of curiosity in the air.

Gaurav (curiously):Chacha, do you know why Skand has called us all here?

Chacha (guessing):Probably because that thing he's been working on… it's finally ready. I think today he's going to show us.

Just then, Skand enters, pushing forward a few mannequins draped in cloth.

Skand (smiling):I've called you all here today because I want to introduce a new creation—our latest product.

He pulls off the cloth from the mannequins, revealing stunning, stylish outfits that shimmer subtly under the light.

The room falls silent for a moment—everyone's eyes are fixed on the clothes.

Chacha (staring at the outfits, amazed):These clothes look incredible... but tell me honestly, Skand—are these really meant for sale?

Skand (understanding the doubt):Why not? Oh—I know what you're thinking. They look too good, so they must be too expensive, right?

Well, you're wrong.

They may look premium, but their price… is as humble as the cloth they're made from.

Gaurav (excitedly):Wait—hold on! If that's true, then…

Chacha (interrupting):How much did it actually cost to make them, Skand? I know you're not the kind of person who takes a loss in business.

Skand (grinning confidently):You're absolutely right, Chacha. I've been practical. For the women's outfits: each one costs between 1 to 50 panas. For men's outfits: between 1 to 30 panas, depending on the design.

(Note: 1 pana = a silver coin weighing ~3.5g; value approx. ₹200–₹400 today.)

Skand (thinking to himself):They're affordable because I used a clever blend:

80% fine cotton + 20% linen (dukula-style)

Added silk only in borders to give that premium look

Natural dyes: indigo for deep blue, madder for rich red

Mordants like alum and iron to lock in color, add durability, and give a soft sheen.

Skand (proudly):These clothes… are going to shake the market.

The Next Phase Begins

Chacha Utkarsh and Gaurav's father begin distributing the clothes through their channels.

Meanwhile, Skand and Gaurav oversee production on a large scale.

The clothes start selling rapidly, especially among women, who loved the rich colors and intricate designs.

To pull in even more customers, Skand launches a clever scheme:

"If a woman buys clothes from our store, she gets a discount coupon for men's clothes—only usable in our shop."

This creates a domino effect—now even men are forced to buy from Skand's store to get the benefit.

Market Reactions

Woman 1 (talking in the bazaar):Hey! You bought from that new cloth shop too?

Woman 2 (smiling):Of course! Where else can you get something so beautiful at such low prices?Look at this color... and the design—it's stunning!

In just one week, Skand's clothes become the talk of the town.Rich or poor—everyone buys according to what they can afford.Skand's strategy has captured the full market.

Back at the Haveli

Chacha (with joy):Haah! Skand… do you even realize how much profit we've made from this new clothing line?

Skand (grinning):And this is just the beginning. We've only scratched the surface. There's a long way to go up.

Everyone bursts into laughter, their faces glowing with the joy of success.

They sit together, celebrating their massive sales—completely unaware that this victory was just the start of something far bigger.
