Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: Bickering

As the short break approached, the students paid extra attention to the class. Benjamin, as attentive as ever, wrote down everything he could from the lesson. Meanwhile, Tiger had already dozed off, his slight snores echoing through the silent classroom.

The teacher, Miss Selena, paused for a minute before speaking. "I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't sleep and make noise during my class, Mr. Tiger." Everyone turned to face him, but Tiger's sleep didn't waver until Benjamin slightly shook the table, making him open his eyes to the sight ahead.

"What's going on?" Tiger asked, placing his hand over his mouth. Miss Selena began to respond, but the bell cut her short, and the class fell silent.

"Follow me to my office, Mr. Tiger," she said, turning to leave. Tiger replied, "But it's already break time." The class whispered in response, stunned by his remark. Miss Selena's voice was firm. "I said come with me."

Tiger followed her, and as they stepped out, other students cheered. "I actually thought she wasn't going to leave," one student said. "She might be strict, but she follows the rules here," another added.

Meanwhile, Benjamin headed to the cafeteria, while Rose approached Ruby and asked, "Do you like Tiger, President?" Ruby replied, "You just enrolled here, but you already know me as the president, and no, I don't. But why are you asking?"

Rose hesitated. "It's nothing. When I saw you guys..." She trailed off, remembering a past encounter. "Actually, never mind." Rose stood up, her voice firm and heavy. "He is nothing but an arrogant, prideful, dumb, stupid, and brainless human who thinks strength is the only way forward. He's just a boy without emotions."

Ruby's expression turned serious. "What do you know about him that makes you say such things? Is there any difference between him and you?" Ruby was taken aback as Rose left her standing there.

As Tiger walked behind Miss Selena, he noticed male students eyeing her. "You know, if you weren't so strict, you'd have a lot of male suitors by now," he said. Miss Selena replied, "Don't try flattering me; it won't work."

Tiger continued, "But, teach, may I ask why you're teaching here?" Miss Selena paused, looking at him. "Why do you ask?" Tiger shrugged. "Oh, it's nothing." Miss Selena nodded. "Good."

As they entered her office, Miss Selena sat with her arms and legs crossed. "Do you know why you're here?" she asked. Tiger replied nonchalantly, "Because I'm going to detention, I guess." Miss Selena's gaze locked onto him. "Do you know who beat up Jackson?"

Tiger's attitude didn't change. "Oh, so that's what this is about. I have no idea what you're talking about." Miss Selena warned, "I'm onto you, Mr. Tiger. Watch yourself." Tiger smirked. "Good luck."

As he left the office, he asked, "Does this mean I'm out of detention?" Miss Selena replied, "I'll pardon you this time since this is our first meeting, but there won't be a second chance." Tiger grinned. "I appreciate the kindness, but I hope the same could be said about you."

Later, in the cafeteria, Tiger found Benjamin sitting alone, lost in thought. "What's up with you?" Tiger asked, taking a shortbread from Benjamin's tray. Benjamin looked up, laughing. "You're still alive, and did you really ask about me?" Tiger replied, "Don't make it sound awkward."

Benjamin continued, "Right, nothing's really wrong. Actually... you're going to have a thought about your love life." Benjamin burst into laughter. Tiger raised an eyebrow. "Oh, and why is that?" Benjamin just smiled. "Oh, you'll see."

The bell rang, and everyone headed back to their classes, leaving the school hall silent as classes awaited their teachers.
