"Father, I don't know if that's true. Lord Hokage has asked me to keep an eye on his son's progress, but Naruto always vanishes from the area. There might be a possibility, but I can't confirm anything at this point."
Fugaku simply nodded at that. "Well, Itachi, you already know our position within the village has stabilized for now. Given everything that's happening, we're not asking you to admit you've been training him. Just don't answer questions about it. Feign ignorance or deflect—can you handle that?"
Itachi thought about it for a moment. To be honest, he didn't want to follow Danzo's plan to the letter. If the Uchiha were to rebel, it would lead to bloodshed. But this situation, Naruto's rise, was improving things for everyone. It wasn't like he was going to take credit for Naruto's progress—it would simply calm his clan and ease tensions in the village.
He nodded silently.
Fugaku continued, "Why don't you bring your prodigy to the Uchiha compound? I'd like to invite him for dinner."
Itachi paused for a moment, then nodded. "All right, Father. I'll see you later."
With that, he vanished from the area.
Meanwhile, Naruto decided to stop by his home for a bit. At the Namikaze clan training grounds, both Manma and Mito were holding water balloons in their hands, focusing intently as they tried to push chakra into them. Frustration was evident on their faces.
Their godfather, Jiraiya, had shown them the steps to learn the Rasengan—although he had instructed them to keep it secret. He didn't want their parents to find out just yet. He had even shown them the next stage: the rubber balloon, and eventually the final step. But for now, he told them to master the first stage.
As Naruto arrived home, he noticed his siblings struggling with the water balloons and raised an eyebrow. He had read something similar in the Namikaze clan library—yes, those were definitely the Rasengan training instructions. If he wasn't mistaken, their father had even written about it in his private diary, explaining the steps involving chakra rotation, power, and control.
Naruto raised an eyebrow. It seemed his siblings were trying to learn the Rasengan—quite interesting. But he didn't think they had the necessary chakra control to pull it off yet. Maybe he could help them.
Lately, he hadn't spent much time with his siblings, so he was a bit shocked by their determination. Well, why not? he thought. Helping them might make them stronger. Maybe they'll actually survive in the shinobi world. After all, he had heard many things about how brutal it could be. Their power level was impressive for their age, but other Jinchuriki were stronger.
So, just this once, he decided to lend his younger siblings a hand. He adjusted his chunin vest and stepped forward.
Both Manma and Mito noticed him immediately. The chunin vest made them frown slightly—almost glare—but deep down, they couldn't bring themselves to resent their older brother. Whenever they looked at him, a strange feeling hit them like a wave—his eyes always had this intensity, a quiet superiority that only worsened the inferiority complex growing inside them day by day.
Naruto looked at them calmly.
"So, what are you two doing?" he asked. "Ah, water balloons? Trying to learn the first step of the Rasengan, huh?"
Outside, Minato and Kushina had just teleported into the house.
"Well, Minato, that's quite the news," Kushina said. "Naruto's already been promoted to chunin? That's impressive if you ask me."
Minato nodded. "It seems he's completed his mission quota faster than expected. If he keeps this up, he might be eligible for jonin soon."
"The council must've approved it, right?" Kushina asked.
Minato nodded again, then paused as he noticed faint chakra signatures nearby.
"Huh... it looks like Naruto is in the training grounds—with Manma and Mito."
"Oh really now?" Kushina grinned. "Maybe we should check on them."
They made their way over, and as Minato arrived, his eyes immediately locked onto the water balloons in his children's hands. He was surprised—he had explicitly told Jiraiya not to teach them the Rasengan yet. They're only eight years old, he thought in frustration. This jutsu isn't a toy.
He was about to intervene when Naruto stepped forward. Minato paused—he wanted to see how Naruto would handle it.
Kushina, too, was about to rush in and stop the twins from hurting themselves, but Minato held her back.
Meanwhile, Naruto walked up to Menma and Mito.
"Trying to learn the Rasengan, huh?" he asked, taking a water balloon in his hand. "Well, you're doing it wrong."
Mito scowled slightly but didn't respond. "So what is the right way, huh, Niisan?"
Naruto didn't look at her. Instead, he focused on the balloon and said calmly,
"The first step... is rotation."
As soon as he said it, the water balloon in his hand began to swirl violently. The water inside bubbled, spun faster and faster, and finally burst into nothing but a splash of water.
Minato's eyes widened in shock. Even Kushina stared, stunned.
Kushina turned to her husband.
"Minato... did you teach him the Rasengan already?"
Minato shook his head slowly.
"No, Kushina. I never taught him a thing about it."
Menma's eyes widened in disbelief.
"But... how?"
