"Have you taught him the Rasengan already?"
Minato simply shook his head. "No, Kushina, I haven't taught him a single thing about it."
Menma was surprised. "Then how did you do that?" he asked.
Naruto simply shook his head. "Who told you to perform this technique in such a manner?"
Menma glared a little but answered nonetheless. "Jiraiya-sensei showed us all three steps and told us to practice the first step. Once we're done with it, he'll teach us the next one."
Minato's eyes narrowed slightly. "Jiraiya-sensei… I should've known," he muttered.
Naruto nodded. "Perhaps. And what instructions did he give you?"
Menma replied, "He told us to rotate the water inside the balloon using our chakra."
Naruto shook his head. "Incomplete instructions. You're rotating it in a single direction. That's not the correct method. The Rasengan consists of three parts: control, rotation, and power."
He pointed to the water balloon. "From the outside, you need to rotate it in multiple directions—like this."
He grabbed a water balloon and demonstrated rotating the water in a single direction. The balloon moved, but didn't pop.
"This is what you're doing," he said. "But the correct way is to rotate it in multiple directions at once."
Manma and Mito were surprised. They watched as Naruto manipulated another balloon, this time rotating the water in several directions simultaneously. The chakra pattern was visibly more unstable, but powerful.
Mito, despite her surprise, nodded and began trying to mimic him. The water inside her balloon started to swirl chaotically, though she struggled to maintain the technique.
Before either of them could complain, Naruto added, "Use both of your hands. You lack the chakra control to do it one-handed right now. That will help balance your output."
The twins exchanged glances, then nodded. Each grabbed their balloon with both hands and focused harder, attempting to rotate their chakra in several directions at once.
Pop!
Mito's balloon burst first. Manma stared in disbelief, then gritted his teeth, pushing more chakra into his own balloon. Moments later, his balloon popped too.
Both siblings stared at each other, wide smiles on their faces, a rare moment of shared happiness lighting their eyes.
Even Minato was taken aback by what he had just witnessed.
Minato was taken aback by it. Naruto then said, "As for the next step," as he grabbed a rubber balloon. "If I'm not mistaken, this step is mainly about power."
He held the balloon in his hand. Suddenly, it began to distort slightly—then, with a sharp pop, it burst apart, sending pieces flying.
"This step is about power," he continued. "You need to push as much chakra as you can while maintaining rotation using the same technique. So, why don't you give it a try?"
Both Manma and Mito nodded and began to focus. They pushed more and more chakra into the balloons while trying to maintain the rotation.
Two hours passed. Both were panting heavily, exhausted, and their balloons only had small holes in them—no full burst yet.
Naruto simply nodded. "Your chakra isn't strong enough yet to complete this step easily. Since you've already mastered tree-walking, your chakra control is at a decent level for now. But as you grow, you'll need to improve it even further. Without that, performing a technique like this could be dangerous."
The two continued panting, catching their breath as Naruto picked up another balloon—this time, one filled with air. As he shaped it with chakra, the Rasengan formed clearly in front of them.
Manma stared in shock. "Nii-san… When did you master the Rasengan? I didn't even know you knew how to use it!"
Naruto simply shook his head. "I only read about the Rasengan. I was never formally taught the technique."
There was a heavy silence in the air.
Mito finally spoke. "Wait… are you saying you only read about it?"
Naruto shrugged. "I've seen it once. I knew the basic steps and some of the theories Dad wrote about—like how to eventually add your elemental affinity to it. But no, I never practiced it before. I just knew something similar to this. I never really tried using the Rasengan before, but it seems I've now mastered it… along with you two."
He gave a small, rare smile. "So this is what you guys call team training, right?"
Again, silence fell.
Naruto looked at both of them. "Now, about the final step—you don't have the chakra control to do it on your own yet."
As they were about to protest, he added, "But….you can focus on rotation, have the second clone handle chakra control to maintain the shape, and you yourself apply the power. As your chakra control improves, you'll eventually be able to form the Rasengan with one hand."
Naruto demonstrated by forming a Rasengan that steadily grew in size until it became a full-fledged Ōdama Rasengan in his palm. Minato was taken aback by it. Unbeknownst to them, Tsunade had also been observing from a distance—and Jiraiya had just arrived in time to witness Naruto completing the Rasengan and advancing it into the Ōdama Rasengan. Jiraiya's eyes widened in shock.
Both Menma and Mito looked at each other, stunned. They had already managed to master the first two steps. The third step, according to their brother, required more refined chakra control than they currently possessed. Maybe using shadow clones really would help.
After demonstrating the technique, Naruto decided to head inside the house—his stomach was growling. He found his parents still staring at him in disbelief.
Naruto raised an eyebrow. "Hey, Mom, Dad... mind giving me some food? I'm starving."
Kushina blinked, still processing what she had just seen, but nodded. "Y-Yeah… I'll get dinner ready, Naruto. Why don't you take a seat?"
Naruto simply shrugged and sat down.
Minato, still stunned, looked at him. "Wait a minute, Naruto. I want to ask you something."
Naruto turned to him. "What is it?"
Minato hesitated. "About the Rasengan... have you ever performed it before today?"
Naruto shook his head. "Nope. I read about it in your theory scrolls—chakra control, step-by-step formation, and all that. That book on the table in the library? It was in there."
Minato winced slightly. He really needed to secure his personal theory notes better. That book was full of speculative ideas, jutsu development notes, and chakra manipulation theories he had been writing for years.
"So you only read about it?" Minato asked.
"I mean," Naruto replied casually, "I got a glimpse of it once, saw its shape, and read your notes on affinities and chakra flow. I didn't study it completely."
Minato nodded slowly, still dumbfounded. "But… how did you perform it so perfectly?"
Naruto looked at him calmly. "What do you mean? It's not that hard of a technique. Just three steps—rotation, power, and control. How hard can it be? I literally did it right in front of you guys, didn't I?"
Minato blinked. "Wait… so you knew we were watching you?"
Naruto shrugged. "Your chakra signatures aren't exactly subtle chakra signature—I could feel it."
Minato quickly remembered: Naruto was a sensor. He nodded numbly at that, while the twins, Menma and Mito, exchanged looks with each other.
To be honest, they hadn't expected to receive such training. Their godfather, Jiraiya, had already left them to their own devices. Yet Naruto, along with Minato and Kushina, had helped them this much. It only deepened their growing sense of inferiority—seeing their brother master a technique like the Rasengan as if it were nothing.
He had merely read about it, seen it once, and then recreated it with ease. Meanwhile, they had been struggling for hours and couldn't even master the first step—until Naruto pointed out exactly what they were doing wrong and how to correct it.
They glanced down at the burst water balloon in their hands. Maybe this training would help them grow stronger. And maybe… one day… they would prove that they weren't weak.
As Naruto had just gone off to have a bit of dinner, Minato was silently observing his other two children, who were still holding onto their balloons, using two shadow clones each in an attempt to combine the two steps with their help. Minato was impressed—his kids definitely had potential. But the way Naruto had taught them was what truly stood out.
He had brilliantly broken the Rasengan down even further: instead of trying to do it with one hand, why not use both hands to complete the steps? And when chakra control wasn't enough, use two shadow clones—one to focus on rotation, and the other on maintaining the shape. It was an effective strategy, but Minato could tell that they still lacked the necessary chakra control. Their Rasengans were mostly hollow and unstable, even with the shadow clones assisting them. Still, with time and training, they might be able to manage it.
Minato sighed and shook his head. He wasn't the one who had taught them the Rasengan—and he had specifically forbidden anyone from doing so. It was dangerous. If performed incorrectly, it could cause serious damage to their hands. Yet Naruto had figured it out and passed it along.
As Minato looked around, he quickly sensed the chakra signature of his own sensei, who was still nearby—watching silently but clearly fuming.
Jiraiya's Point of View:
He watched in utter disbelief as Naruto effortlessly formed the Rasengan, expanding it into a larger form with ease. The sight before him—an eight-year-old child performing the Rasengan like it was second nature—shook him.
Menma and Mito were staring at their older brother in awe and fascination. But there was something else in their eyes that Jiraiya couldn't quite identify.
He shook his head. This was getting out of hand. It wasn't supposed to be like this. It was impossible.
How could Naruto—who doesn't have the Nine-Tails—possibly be doing all of this?
He still firmly believed Menma and Mito were the true Children of Destiny. The Great Toad Sage had said so. They were the ones who possessed the ancient power which was never seen and its ofcourse is Ninetail becoz nobody uses Ninetail power completely to begin with. No matter how talented Naruto might be, he didn't have that divine energy inside him.
In Jiraiya's mind, that settled it. Menma and Mito were the chosen ones. It was as simple as that.
Even so… he couldn't deny what he had just witnessed. The progress all three of them had made today, especially Naruto's casual mastery of such an advanced technique, was astonishing.
And seeing Menma and Mito forming even shallow Rasengans at their age… it proved that they too had immense potential.
Still, he couldn't ignore the bitter truth: the Rasengans of both twins only came into being after Naruto had guided them.
Jiraiya's Point of View END :
He gritted his teeth in frustration. Before he could say anything, a flash of light appeared behind him—Minato had arrived.
Jiraiya turned slightly, feigning ignorance.
"Oh, Minato. What are you doing here?"
Minato narrowed his eyes. "You already know why I'm here, Sensei. You're the one who told them to try the Rasengan. How irresponsible can you possibly be?"
Jiraiya looked at him, frowning.
"Irresponsible? What are you talking about? I've already told you—Menma and Mito need to be strong. When the time comes, they'll have to protect the world. But you're not giving them the training they need, so I decided to start them on the Rasengan."
Minato glared at him. "You know how dangerous that technique is. They could've seriously injured themselves using those water balloons and the rotation exercises."
Jiraiya responded firmly, "They're talented, Minato. You need to have a little faith in them. Just look at the progress they've made. That alone shows they have real potential."
Minato's expression hardened. "And yet they still need two shadow clones and even then they're struggling to form a hollow, incomplete Rasengan. It's not even properly shaped. That's not talent—it's recklessness."
Jiraiya gritted his teeth again as Minato continued, "They need more chakra control, Sensei. I've already told you—don't teach them techniques they aren't ready for. Their chakra reserves are still developing. If they don't master control now, they'll be unstable in the future. I'll say this one last time: do not teach them anything beyond their limits."
With that, Minato vanished in another flash before Jiraiya could respond.
Jiraiya stood there, fuming.
Why can't Minato see? They needed to grow strong quickly. Menma and Mito were the world's only hope. Not Naruto. No matter how talented he was, he wasn't tied to the prophecy or destined to save the world.
Just then, the thought returned—Naruto had just been promoted to Chūnin. That alone made Jiraiya grit his teeth harder. That kind of power should've been in the hands of the "chosen ones," not some boy who wasn't even connected to destiny.
Meanwhile, Naruto was already preparing for the next day. Honestly, his days had been getting a bit repetitive with the same old training routine. But he was hoping the upcoming missions would bring a bit of fun and excitement.
