Chapter Title: Chapter 13 – The Final Showdown

"A trap?" Jack's heart pounded as he realized he had fallen into Greene's snare.

"Exactly," Greene replied, his voice dripping with smug satisfaction. "You think you've gathered evidence against me? No, Jack. Those were all pieces I allowed you to see. I used you—to eliminate every threat standing in my way."

Jack's mind reeled. Now he understood. Greene's true goal wasn't to stop him—it was to manipulate him into becoming a weapon, eliminating his rivals while staying hidden in the shadows. And Jack? He had been nothing more than a pawn.

"You're despicable!" Jack spat through clenched teeth.

"Despicable?" Greene sneered. "In this world, the winner writes history. You're too naïve, Jack. Do you really believe you can challenge me on your own? In Wall Street, money is power, and power is truth!"

"You think exposing my crimes will bring me down? No, Jack. This is only the beginning! The real game starts now!"

With that, the line went dead.

Jack gripped the phone tightly, sweat beading on his forehead. He knew Greene wouldn't let this go. What lay ahead would be the most brutal confrontation of his life.

He forced himself to calm down, analyzing every word Greene had spoken. If what he saw was only what Greene wanted him to see, then everything he thought he knew could be part of an elaborate deception. He needed to re-examine every lead, uncover Greene's true trap.

"Izabella! Emily!" Jack called out urgently from inside the office.

Both women rushed in at once, sensing the urgency in his tone.

"What happened?" Izabella asked, concern flashing in her eyes.

Jack quickly recounted his conversation with Greene. Their expressions turned grim as they absorbed the implications.

"Greene is brilliant," Emily muttered, biting her lip. "He manipulated you to take down his enemies."

"We have to be careful," Izabella added. "Greene always has another move." She immediately opened her laptop, diving back into the data on Greene Group.

Jack joined her, recalling every detail, searching desperately for a weakness. Suddenly, something clicked.

"Emily," he said, "you mentioned that the Poseidon Fund transferred funds to a shell company in the Cayman Islands owned by Greene Group. Are you sure the final beneficiary was Greene?"

Emily hesitated, thinking carefully. "At the time, I based it solely on surface-level records. I didn't dig deeper. It's possible Greene Group was just a middle step—someone else may be the true beneficiary."

Jack's pulse quickened. That was it—Greene's real plan! He had orchestrated the fund's collapse, using it to siphon money away from his rivals, then funneled it elsewhere while framing Greene Group. By feeding Jack the wrong clues, he had turned him into an instrument of vengeance—eliminating his competition without getting his own hands dirty.

"Greene is a monster," Jack growled. "He doesn't just want to destroy me—he wants to control everyone like puppets!"

He immediately contacted the lawyer who had helped him before, requesting a full trace of the Poseidon Fund's financial trail.

Within hours, the lawyer responded: the money had ultimately flowed into a secret Swiss bank account under the name of Henry Morgan—one of Wall Street's most powerful figures, and Greene's fiercest rival.

Morgan had long been a thorn in Greene's side. Greene had tried everything to take over Morgan Group but had failed—until now.

"He wants me and Morgan to fight each other so he can reap the rewards!" Jack realized, anger blazing in his eyes.

He had to warn Morgan. But Greene would stop at nothing to prevent that. He needed to find a safe way to reach him.

Izabella spoke up. "I know someone high up in Morgan Group. I can try contacting them discreetly."

Jack nodded. "Do it—but be careful. Greene will be watching."

Without hesitation, Izabella reached out through a secure channel, delivering the full story to the executive.

The man was stunned. He wasted no time informing Henry Morgan.

Morgan exploded in fury. He summoned his inner circle and launched an immediate investigation into Greene's operations.

The stage was set for a battle between titans.

Meanwhile, Greene sensed the shifting winds. He knew Jack had uncovered part of the truth. He had to act fast—before Jack could rally his forces.

He ordered his men to capture Jack—by any means necessary.

Jack tightened security, fully aware of the danger closing in. He had Izabella arrange additional bodyguards and secured weapons and protective gear. He was ready. Ready for the final confrontation.

That night, New York was cloaked in darkness. From his office window, Jack looked out at the glittering city below, his heart filled with resolve.

This would be the most important night of his life. Defeating Greene meant freedom—not just for himself, but for everyone trapped in the web of corruption.

Suddenly, the door burst open.

A group of masked men stormed in, guns raised.

"You're not going anywhere, Jack," their leader sneered. "Mr. Greene wants you dead!"

Jack took a deep breath, his eyes cold and sharp. "Let's see who dies first."

He grabbed the gun off the desk and fired the first shot.

The silence of the night shattered as gunfire erupted—marking the beginning of a deadly showdown.

The final reckoning had begun.

And only one man would walk away victorious.
