"Master has already left, stop pretending to have fainted!" The same voice came again.
I slowly opened my eyes to see some faces staring at me.
The first one was a girl, pink hair, blue eyes, innocent face. And then the second one was a boy, blue hair, green eyes... Quite a handsome boy.
"Where am I?" I mumbled.

Staring at the screen in my front, I froze in shock.
My sister had told me a lot about transmigration and system in fantasy world but I thought they weren't real. Yes, fiction. But why was it happening to me now?

"What!" I subconsciously yelled out.
"Why are you screaming?" The girl asked me, staring at me with worry.
I didn't know how to respond because I had no idea who she was.
'System, who are they?'

'Damn it!'
The system wasn't helping at all.
"Don't worry, Quinn, the Master is gone and so has everyone else. You can stand up now," the boy said.
I quietly stood up and looked around. We were inside a large hall decorated with weird things I have never seen before.
"Let's go back home, father should be waiting for us," the girl said and I nodded and followed them nonetheless.
Outside the hall, a carriage was already waiting for us so we climbed in and took off. Throughout the ride, I had my eyes outside the carriage.
The world here was beautiful. Different from my own world but definitely worth the look. It had beautiful tall trees, many birds flying around, some individuals walking here and there carrying weird objects in their hands. And their attire... They were all dressed in gowns with ropes around their waists and so was I.
I was dressed in a red gown with a black rope around my waist... Just like the two sitting across me. The sky was bright blue with faint purple.
Things seemed orderly created here.
"We've arrived, young master and young miss," the carriage driver said to the two across me and they came down from the carriage followed by me.
We were standing in front of a metal gate.
"Let's go," the girl said and we nodded and walked towards the gate.
Upon getting there, the gate was opened by the two guards there and we walked through. Inside the compound were small-looking houses by the corners then with one bigger one at the center.
A bold 'Peace and Unity' hanging above the door.
At the entrance was a man who seems not younger than seventy years old.
"Children!" He called out with open arms as the boy and girl ran towards him, hugging him.
"Father."
"We're back."
"How did it go?" The man asked them.
"Lusi and I were able to awaken the second stage of magic," the boy replied.
"I knew you were going to succeed," the man said, smiling. Then he glanced at me who hadn't moved from one spot. "What about him? Was he...?"
"It's the same father," Lusi replied. "He didn't awaken."
The man sighed.
"Father, don't worry. We will protect him as always," the boy said, glancing at me with a faint smile.
"It's not all about protecting him," the man said and looked at me again. "You two can not continue to protect him forever. He needs to protect himself."
"Father, we are aware," Lusi said to her father. "But for now, we will continue to protect him."
"Fine," the man breathed. "Let's go in."
Lusi glanced at me and I followed them in. A woman was there as we walked in.
"Mother," Lusi a called, approaching the woman.
"Welcome, children," she said to them with a warm smile. Glancing at me, she frowned slightly. "Was he able to awaken?" She asked her children.
The two of them shook their heads and the woman frowned the more.
She doesn't seem to like me at all — I made a mental note of that and will try to avoid her as much as I can.
After settling down, the woman ordered the female servants to bring the dishes in and after serving them, we began to eat.
During the meal, my head was lowered all the while, carefully avoiding the woman's piercing gaze on me. I didn't know why she was staring at me that way but I had to avoid it at all cost. I quickly rushed this strange yet delicious meal and after that, I got up to leave.
As soon as I turned to leave, I was called back and it was she who called me. At first, I didn't answer her but then she had to call again.
"Quinn!"
"Yes ma?" I replied, turning around.
"Where are you going?" She asked me.
..."outside," I replied after a while.
"Have you forgotten your everyday routine after meal?" She asked me.
'Routine?' I thought inwardly, helplessly glancing at Lusi and her brother.
"Huh?" She asked me, her gaze intensely piercing through my heart.
"I'm sorry ma but—"
"Mother, you shouldn't make things more difficult for him. You know how difficult things are for him now," Lusi said to her mother before I could complete my sentence.
"Is that enough reason for him to forget the fact that after every meal, he should be thankful?" The woman questioned.
It seems I now understand the woman's point.
"Sorry ma," I quickly apologized. "Thank you for the food," I said and then hurried off immediately.

After some time, Lusi joined me under one of the trees where I was seated.
"You've been behaving weird ever since we left the magic awakening hall," she said. "Chen and I are worried about you."
So Chen was her brother's name?
"There is no need of being worried about me," I said to her. "I'm fine. Just bothered about my inability to awaken yet."
"Since when did you start bothering about that?" She asked me, her brows furrowed. "You've never even wanted to become a mage."
Staring at her, I knew she wasn't lying but why would the owner of this body not want to be a mage?
The system has tasked me with getting strong so definitely, becoming a mage was included. I guess many things are about to get changed and I am about to give them the greatest shock of their lives.
