Adyr felt the fat mutant go limp beneath him. He gave the wire a final pull, then detached it and clipped it back onto his belt for later use.
This one had pushed him a little harder than the others, but he was much stronger now. If only he had sharper, more durable blades that could actually get through mutant hide, the job would've been easier.
Even though these mutants were only under the influence of a Rank 2 Spark, they were far stronger and more durable than the wolves he had fought before.
The difference was clear. The wolves had mutated from normal animals, but these men were already powerful mutants before the Spark enhanced them further.
"You keep the gun," Adyr said as he lifted the corpse from the ground.
The STF operative gave a nod and crawled back to his corner. He tucked the weapon behind his back and resumed his silent wait.
