Separating myself from the rest of the demons, it didn't take long for me to find what I was looking for.
In fact, it was quite hard to miss this place since it was a large mountain that was right in the center of the Plains of Blood.
It was the only mountain in the entire Plains of Blood, which made it stick out like a sore thumb. At the same time, it was strange that there was this mountain in this flatland in the first place.
Only the demons never bothered checking this place.
They did explore this mountain since it was a curious sight, but they didn't actually explore it.
The demons had far better things to do than explore this mountain after all.
But as for me, I knew better than these demons.
I knew that this wasn't just a simple mountain, this was a place that held a treasure.
A mountain like this wouldn't just appear in a place like this for no reason.
As for the reason, it was something that none of the demons would have ever expected.
After arriving at this mountain, the first thing that I did was look around for the landmark that would show me the way.
With my enhanced senses, it really wasn't hard to find it.
It was just that it was in a completely different place from where I had expected it to be.
"It's at the base of the mountain for everyone to see and they still weren't able to find it."
Looking at this statue, I really couldn't help wondering if there was something wrong with the brains of the demons. After all, it really was out in the open for everyone to see…
Yet, they never thought of investigating it.
It really was their loss.
After putting these thoughts aside, I went up to the statue and tapped it in the eyes.
The moment that I did, there was this sound that came from the wall that was behind it.
This statue was placed right in front of a cliff wall, a strange place for this statue to be in the first place. Though any statue that was found in the middle of the wild would be considered to be in a strange place.
After the sound rang out for a while, it finally stopped.
That was because the opening in the wall had finally finished forming and it revealed a large cave.
When the cave finished opening up, there was no hesitation in my steps as I walked into the cave.
Even when the cave closed behind me, I didn't have any fear.
I just simply raised my hand and gathered the flames to reveal the appearance of this cave.
"It's just like in the game, there's nothing different with this place. Is it because it's an event location that it's the exact same as the game?"
This place was a cave, but there were certain things about this place that were different from a normal cave.
The one thing that stood out the most was the bloody handprints that were all over the walls. With the way that they were scattered all over the walls, it was as if someone had tried to leave this place, but had been trapped here.
At the same time, it looked like there had been some kind of struggle.
Any normal person that looked at this would think that this place was a dangerous place, but not me.
Rather, there was a smile that appeared on my face when I saw this since it confirmed that I was in the right place.
Other than that, there was also the smell of blood in the air.
Even though this place should have been sealed for a very long time, there was still the smell of blood in the air.
With all of this, I knew that this was the place that I wanted to find.
Once I confirmed this, I didn't hesitate as I continued forward into the depths of this cave.
As I continued deeper, there were more and more bloody handprints that appeared on the walls around me. It was as if there were more and more people that had been slaughtered here.
Eventually, I reached the end of this passage.
When I came out, I found a large hall in front of me.
But the one thing that caught my attention was the fountain that was right in the center of the hall.
This wasn't a fountain that had water in it, but rather it was a fountain of blood. It was also the reason why there was the smell of blood in the air.
Only for this fountain to still have blood flowing through it like this, it either had been refilled recently or it had quite a lot of blood that it hadn't dried up.
However, those were only the options that normal people would think of.
As for me, I knew the real reason why this fountain was still filled with blood like this.
It was all because of the special magic that had been cast on this fountain. Or at least that was what the flavour text from the game had said was the reason.
Once I was done admiring the fountain, I looked around the hall and found that it had the exact same appearance as it did in the game.
But that was a good thing since it meant that this was the right place.
Now the only thing left to do was trigger this.
"Oh Demon King of the past, awaken and grant me your power." After saying this, I took out something that I tossed into the fountain of blood.
The moment that this thing plopped into the fountain of blood, there were ripples that formed on the surface of the blood. These ripples quickly spread out across the entire fountain and it didn't take long for something to appear.
"Who wants to take my trial?"
As this voice rang out, there was a figure of blood that appeared out of the surface of the blood in the fountain.
