Chapter 97 - Chapter 97 Goodbye, Kuei-shi

Chapter 97 Goodbye, Kuei-shi

The next game was announced to start after the corpses were cleaned up. The first wave of people to appear was a group of Gith people with chariots. The leader wore an exaggerated ancient Gith legion commander's ceremonial helmet - a toilet-shaped bronze helmet with colorful feathers. His subordinates were bare-chested and held black whips more than ten meters long.

Missandei said that they were the whippers of the Gith legion, and they used the long whips in their hands to manage the millions of slaves in the empire.

The next wave of people wore gorgeous smoke-black armor. Without the little translator's explanation, Dany guessed that they were just imitating the Valyrian dragon king.

The last Gith to enter the field held a golden shield in his left hand and a golden short sword in his right hand. He wore a spiked golden helmet, golden sleeveless leather armor, black leather shorts, and golden long boots. He looked a bit like the Unsullied, but more refined than the Unsullied.

When those golden men came out with their carriages, the whole audience cheered, and even the good masters stood up and bowed.

"They are the ancient Ghis Golden Warriors, the strongest warriors of the Legion, and the foundation of the ancient Ghis Empire's dominance over the continent. Alas, they are fake and imitations." Jorah waved his hand with contempt, and mocked: "The Sons of the Harpy are immersed in the glory of the old empire, but they have forgotten that the Ghis Empire has been destroyed for 5,000 years."

Dany was excited and said excitedly: "Are they going to duel too?"

"Yes, look." Jorah pointed to the center of the arena. Three carriages were parked together, and several Ghis warriors on the carriages were solemnly handing each other gold-painted parchment scrolls.

He said: "They are simulating the ceremony of exchanging letters of challenge before the war between the city-states of the ancient Ghis Empire. The battle will begin soon."

"Great, watching the Ghis fighting each other makes me more excited than the slave fight." Dany smiled in a low voice.

It would be best if all the Ghis died. Well, it would be best if the eight good masters came to the scene in person!

Jorah sneered, "Princess, how can slave owners have the courage to participate in the fights now? You will see."

Amidst the warm cheers, three Ghis "generals" held up sheepskin scrolls and drove carriages around the arena three times, and then they exited from the corridor one by one.

On the other side, three gates opened at the same time, and three groups of bare-chested warriors wearing cloaks of different colors came out.

Each team had about 50 people. The colorful cloaks represented the long whippers led by the Ghis Legion Captain, the black cloaks represented the Valyrian Dragon King, and the yellow cloaks represented the most courageous golden swordsmen of the Ghis Legion.

Then 150 people used spears, short swords, arakhs, and long whips to fight in the narrow arena.

They were so brave that they didn't care about their lives at all, as if their own lives and the lives of others were not worth even a penny.

It was more cruel than the previous 10vs10. The dry land before turned into a quagmire. It was not an exaggeration, it really turned into mud after the rain.

The "real restricted-level blood-thriller" was being performed below, and the audience of Gith above was boiling with blood, as if they were in an inexplicable state of frenzy.

They were not watching people fighting, but traveling through 5,000 years to become a member of the ancient Gith Army, sweeping across the Valyrian Freehold, stepping on the Rhoyna Water Wizard, the Andal Knights wailing under their swords, and 300 dragons lying dead on the spot. It was really a thrilling and passionate sport.

Dany's irritable heart calmed down inexplicably. Everything around her was so real and illusory. Things were happening in real life, but she entered the God's perspective with the mentality of watching a movie story.

"This is hell, let's go back." Suddenly, she stood up and said to Jorah and others.

She noticed the expressions of her followers. Only Whitebeard and Jorah looked reluctant, Missandei's face was pale, but Belwas and the centaurs were watching with relish.

Even Jhiqui and Irri were infected by the atmosphere, shouting excitedly, with flushed cheeks.

"We should leave. This kind of place shouldn't exist in the world." Whitebeard agreed.

The good masters didn't care about Dany's departure. Kraznys and another good master laughed at her weakness and stupidity.

The fighting in the Colosseum was too bloody. Dany didn't eat a bite of the food brought by the slave owner's servants at noon. Whitebeard and Jorah didn't eat it either. But Belwas ate heartily. Like the good masters, the plasma slices below seemed to be a condiment, which made their appetites whet.

When they returned to the ship, it was almost evening. Dany ate some fruit and white bread to fill her stomach, took a bath, and fed the three dragons for dinner.

The sky was still dark, but she went back to her room to rest.

Lying on the bed, Dany tossed and turned. The scenes of what happened in the Colosseum during the day emerged in her mind. Then she thought of the Unsullied with a face as hard as rock. Even the scene of the Unsullied killing puppies and babies appeared in front of her.

Finally, she thought about what she would do tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.

She kept turning over and over, and her movements were so big that she woke up Eli beside her without knowing when.

Well, the centaur maid watched a big show today, and she was satisfied. She had eaten and drunk enough, and she started to snore slightly as soon as she lay down on the bed.

"Khaleesi, can't you sleep?" she asked.

In the darkness, Dany said "hmm" softly.

After a moment, the centaur maid hesitated and reached out her hand, asking, "Do you need my help?"

"What help?" Dany was puzzled.

"I learned skills from Doreah, and I can please you." As she said, she put her calloused little hand into Dany's quilt.

After a moment of silence, Dany finally reacted. She blushed and dodged to the side, saying, "Oh, that's not it. I'm thinking about what happened in the Colosseum."

Drogo's bloodriders were dead, and the other centaurs didn't dare to touch Dany's maids. The three women were a little uncomfortable after being away from home for a long time. Sometimes Dany saw Doreah with them,

"Oh, what happened in the Colosseum?" Irri's voice was flat, without the embarrassment and shyness of being rejected, as if she had just asked, "Khaleesi, do you want some water?"

While complaining about the boldness of the centaurs in her heart, Dany said, "People should have a bottom line. The yearning for beautiful things is the characteristic that distinguishes humans from beasts. Kindness and compassion are one of the most beautiful qualities of humans. But today I found that too many people are not like humans at all."

After a pause, Irri said softly, "I don't know who my father is, but I have a mother and brothers. They all died under the roaring saber of Khal Drogo, but after becoming your maid, I completely regarded myself as your person.

In my heart, this is the law of the world. We all came this way and don't know how to make it better."

Irri, Jhiqui, Quirrell, and Kalaro are not Drogo's khals. After their khals were destroyed by Drogo, they became Drogo's semi-slaves - formal tribesmen with a status higher than slaves but lower than khals.

Later, Daenerys married Drogo, and the four joined her little khas, and only then did they obtain the "household registration" of Drogo's khals.

"I know what kind of world is better, and I also plan to change the current world." Dany said.

"I believe you, Khaleesi. You are the Mother of Dragons, the Unburnt, the Miracle Man blessed by the Horse God." Irri held her hand and said.

After that, the two of them were silent. Less than three minutes later, the centaur maid's breathing became heavy again.

Dany stared at the dark ceiling with her eyes wide open. She could hear the faint creaking of the wooden hull, the sound of waves hitting the hull, and footsteps on the deck above her head...

In the silence, she suddenly heard the breathing of a third person. She was startled and half sat up, looking into the darkness, and whispered: "Doreah? Jhiqui?"

"They are asleep," a woman said, "All asleep."

The voice was very close to the bed, almost standing beside the bed and looking down at Dany.

"Shit, Quaishi?" Dany recognized the identity of the owner of the voice and said in horror: "Why are you in Astapor too? Where are my guards? Didn't they stop you?"

"It was me." Quaishi seemed to take a few more steps, and Dany could vaguely see an extremely vague shadow in the darkness.

"This afternoon, when I was meditating, I once again foresaw something that would change the world. I saw your figure standing in blood and fire, with a sea of blood and corpses under your feet." Quaishi said lightly.

Dany's face changed, and she asked in a trembling voice: "What do you know?"

The prophecy in this world is really damn abominable. I only have a vague idea in my mind, and you are touched?

"I don't know anything, and I feel very confused, so... Can you tell me?"

Quaishi's words made her feel relieved.

"I don't even know the basic meditation method, how can I understand prophecy?" She said.

In the darkness, Dany felt that Quaishi was looking at her. When she was about to ask again how to break through the guards' defense, Quaishi spoke.

"Daenerys, you must remember: to go to the north, you must go south. To reach the West, you must go east. To move forward, you must retreat. To get to the light, you must go through the shadows."

The voice became weaker and weaker, and the last sentence was almost inaudible.

Dani's heart moved, and she called out, "Big Black, light the lamp."

There was a sound of chains dragging in the corner, and the black dragon slowly woke up from his deep sleep, his dark red eyes like two night pearls, "hiss--"

Big Black opened his mouth slightly, and spurted out a thin flame, and the darkness in the room was immediately dispelled by the flames. Dani looked around, but she shuddered: the door was closed, the bolt was firmly fastened, but there was no trace of the woman with the red lacquer mask in the room.

Murder in a closed room?

Oh, no, theft in a closed room, breaking in and out of a closed room?

How did Kuixi get in? How did he leave?

"Oh my god!" Dani suddenly slapped her forehead and whispered, "Damn it, it's probably a glass candle!"

If scientific methods can't explain it, it can only be magic. Glass candles seem to have the effect of cross-border communication and projection.

Even if it's not a glass candle, it's a similar witchcraft.

To verify her idea, Dany lifted the blanket, put on a piece of clothing, opened the door and looked out. Doreah and Jhiqui were sleeping on a low couch in the outer room. There were four or five centaurs patrolling back and forth in the corridor and on the top deck.

Dany also saw Whitebeard put a sleeping bag at the entrance of the cabin. Hearing the footsteps, the old man woke up immediately.

"Your Highness?" Whitebeard sat up and asked.

"It's me. Have you seen Quaixi?" Dany asked.

"No one came in. I can tell the identity of the stranger from the footsteps." The old man confirmed.

Dany's bedroom was originally the captain's room of Admiral Grole. It was located in the innermost room of the cabin on the third floor. There was only one way in and out, and Whitebeard slept by the way.

"Alas, Quaixi came to see me." Dany sighed.
