Chapter 17 - Borrowing the Car

The atmosphere in the ruined wooden house was somewhat subtle.

Faced with the boy's righteous sermon.

Charles and Constantine were both a little confused.

"Who is the sun of America?" Constantine was completely confused. He didn't quite understand what Ian said. He could understand each word, but when they were put together, he was confused.

"General MacArthur, of course."

Ian answered without thinking. He had lived in the metropolis for so many years and had life experience.

If you want to say something and want to stand on a commanding height and say it, you can throw it at General MacArthur, and there won't be many people who would question whether MacArthur said this.

Umm...

Constantine and Charles both suffered from their lack of education. They looked at each other, but no one questioned them. They just felt that there was such a big generation gap between themselves and modern young people.

"Children nowadays all admire the heroes of World War II. It's quite different from our time when we only liked beautiful women with long legs." Even Charles felt a little emotional.

Just when the two people were confused by Ian's words.

"Gu~"

Ian looked down at the thermos in his hand, and estimated that he could still gain at least one attribute value from the other party. He began to swallow with some anticipation.

"hiss!!!"

The evil spirit didn't know what Ian was thinking, but that didn't mean it couldn't sense the boy's "evil intentions". It began to frantically slap the transparent bottle cap in the thermos.

"Constantine! Don't give up on me! You must take me away!"

"I know many secrets of Hell! I know how to redeem your soul!"

"Quick! Take me back!"

The evil spirit was screaming madly.

Constantine only felt that the current situation was becoming more and more unbelievable. He was considered knowledgeable, but he had never seen the ghosts in hell being so afraid of a human being.

It's really hard to imagine.

In what mental state does an evil spirit need to be before it asks an exorcist for help?

"Honestly! I can help you save your soul!" The evil spirit seduced Constantine madly. It was really scared. Only those who have used others as nourishment can truly understand how miserable it is to become nourishment for others.

"I'm serious. You can't run away." Ian stuffed the thermos directly into his coat. He looked at Constantine vigilantly but found that Constantine didn't seem to have any intention of continuing to ask for it.

"Okay, it's yours." Constantine was not successfully tempted by the evil spirit. Instead, after the evil spirit asked him for help, he gave up the idea of asking for the evil spirit from the boy.

"Um?"

Ian was confused by Constantine's sudden change of attitude.

And Constantine looked at him deeply.

"Charles, there's a poor woman up there who died tragically. We need to bury her to be on the safe side." Constantine turned and walked towards the stairs.

He raised one of his hands, which still had traces of burns on it. Thinking of the pendant the boy was wearing, the exorcist felt that the other party must have an unusual background.

"Here I come."

Charles came to his feelings and wanted to follow him upstairs, but Ian looked at the sky outside the window and stopped him immediately.

"You have to take me back," Ian said in a serious tone. He didn't want to walk back to the city on his own. It was quite a distance from here to the city.

"Wait a moment, I have to help my friend first." Charles did not refuse, but he still planned to wait until everything was settled before sending this "special" passenger back.

"…"

Ian watched Charles walk around him and climb up the stairs. He looked at his watch and thought that if he didn't go back, his parents would probably worry about his safety.

Ian looked at the scattered ruins and began to think. Soon, when Constantine and Charles entered the second floor and were about to open the door of the room with a big hole in it,

"Buzz!!"

The roar of a car engine suddenly sounded.

Immediately, Charles's face suddenly changed. He searched his pockets, and although the keys were clearly still on him, he could definitely hear the sound of his damaged car starting up downstairs.

"Fuck!"

Charles' heart was in his throat, and he rushed to the corridor and looked down along the guardrail. As expected, the "stubborn" taxi was really started.

Short-circuiting ignition.

It's no problem for Ian.

This is the importance of learning mathematics, physics, and chemistry well. You never know when it can help you borrow cars.

"What are you doing! Damn it! Stop! Park the car!" Charles saw Ian step on the accelerator and reverse out of the garage, and then he violently crashed into the damaged house with the back of the car.

He was very anxious, but he also knew that even if he jumped over the rail right now, human legs would never be able to catch up with the speeding car.

That's why.

Charles and Constantine, who showed up later, could only watch helplessly through the big hole in the wall that was enlarged by the second collision as the taxi, which was still worth some money, went farther and farther away.

"I can't wait for you even a little bit! Go find your taxi near the bus stop tomorrow!" Ian even stretched out his hand and waved goodbye to them.

He felt that since he had given the other party the address to return the car, it should not be considered a theft. There was no other way. If he didn't go back, he would be questioned about where he went after school.

In such a remote place, I really have to thank this automatic transmission car with a manual transmission. It is durable and easy to operate, making Ian feel that he can probably take the driver's license test tomorrow.

"Driving isn't that difficult."

Ian stared intently at the front, with one foot on the brake and the other on the accelerator and drove the shabby taxi out of the sight of the exorcist and his assistant.

"…"

"…"

Constantine and Charles looked at each other in silence.

There was a strange silence for a moment.

"So, we're going to walk back to the city today?" Constantine fully demonstrated what it meant to be heartless. His focus was clearly not on Charles' property loss.

After all, it's not his car.

"…"

Charles, who was already feeling aggrieved, felt even more uncomfortable after hearing this.

"If you can't speak, then just say less!"

He glared at Constantine fiercely, but Constantine smiled nonchalantly. The exorcist tried to show off by turning his hand over and producing a card.

"Don't worry, your car can be recovered." Constantine had quietly taken Ian's student ID card and put it on himself without anyone noticing.

Seeing this, Charles was immediately relieved.

He looked at the student ID in Constantine's hand.

"Constantine, I think there's something weird about this guy that's worth your investigation." Charles reminded cautiously. He was definitely not brooding over the theft of his vehicle.

"Indeed, this little boy must have some very great secrets." Constantine thought thoughtfully, looking down at the documents in his hand.

And just at this moment.

Suddenly, a sudden and unexpected strong wind blew through the empty wooden house. Constantine felt his eyes blurred, and before he could see anything, the document in his hand had disappeared.

Like being blown away by the wind.

It was as if it was snatched away by someone.
