Chapter 30 - 30

After watching TV for a short while, Kevin felt he was perhaps being a bit too melodramatic. He stopped watching TV and turned to look at Anna.

"What? I thought we were going to watch TV all night," Anna teased, noticing Kevin's gaze.

"Hey, you really think I don't dare to do anything to you?" Kevin, feeling provoked, put one arm around Anna and used the other to tilt her chin up.

Anna, seeing Kevin's paused action, met him halfway, and the two tumbled onto the sofa, beginning a deep French kiss.

Not long after, Kevin noticed Anna, who was pressed against him, unconsciously revealing her fangs. He knew her emotions had reached a certain intensity and were translating into hunger.

"Come on, drink some," Kevin said, directly taking off his shirt and offering himself to Anna.

Anna glanced at Kevin, then wrapped her arms around him and bit into his shoulder. Kevin, with a surge of strength, lifted Anna up. Like a koala, Anna wrapped her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist. Kevin, one arm around Anna's waist and the other supporting her rear, carried her upstairs.

Once upstairs, Anna had drunk her fill, and the two started kissing again. This battle was truly like heaven's thunder igniting earth's fire. Kevin, enhanced by the Rabbit and Horse Talismans, performed quite admirably. But under the reinforcement of Anna's five or six-hundred-year-old physique, Kevin, who had initially been the one in control, slowly found himself being overpowered.

A night passed without words. When Kevin woke up the next day, it was already noon. He looked at Anna nestled in his arms, and "Little Kevin" began to stir restlessly again. Kevin could only marvel at how useful the Horse Talisman was; even overexertion like this counted as an "injury," and it directly eliminated all his fatigue.

Kevin didn't specifically try to wake Anna, but his mischievous hands didn't stop exploring, which caused Anna to wake up after a short while as well.

"What, want to go another round?" Anna smiled, even shifting her position to further tease Kevin.

"Bring it on! You think I'm afraid of you?" Kevin said, then immediately pressed down on top of her.

This session would have probably lasted until nightfall again if Stefan hadn't called that afternoon to say the spellbook had been found.

Kevin and Anna tidied themselves up and then went to Stefan's house as agreed.

"Hey, everyone's here," Kevin said, seeing the assembled group.

"Hey Kevin," Bonnie responded.

"Bonnie, have you looked at the spellbook? What do you think?" Kevin asked, finding a sofa and sitting down with Anna.

"It should be fine. But I'll still need my Grams to help out; I'm not strong enough yet," Bonnie said to Kevin with a nod.

"Then no time like the present. Let's go sort this out tonight," Kevin said directly.

"Kevin, now that things here are more or less settled... you know I was also planning to desiccate Damon before. Do you think you could hand Damon over to my custody? I promise he won't escape again this time," Stefan pleaded with Kevin.

"No need. I have a better place for him, much more suitable. You'll see him tonight," Kevin stated bluntly.

"Tell Ben to leave Mystic Falls immediately. He's no longer fit to survive here. But let him know, if he dares to indiscriminately kill and feed on humans outside, and I run into him, I will definitely kill him," Kevin said, turning his head to Anna.

"Okay, I'll go right now," Anna readily agreed, knowing that Ben, as a tool, was now dispensable.

"So, we'll meet at the tomb tonight then? I need to go get my things first, better safe than sorry," Kevin said. Now that things were settled, he planned to go to the cabin to bring Damon to the tomb and also to bring more weapons.

Kevin left Stefan's house and drove directly to his cabin.

"Wake up," Kevin said, walking up to Damon and giving him a couple of hard slaps across the face.

Damon weakly lifted his eyes, no longer having much strength to speak to Kevin.

"I have some good news for you. We're going to open the tomb tonight!" Kevin said, pulling up a chair and sitting opposite Damon.

"Don't worry, I'll take you there directly later. And here's some more good news: I won't kill Katherine," Kevin said ambiguously.

"Really?" Damon finally spoke upon hearing this.

"Of course. Have you ever seen me lie?" Kevin stated confidently.

"Naturally, I won't kill Katherine because she's not even in the tomb! Damon, oh Damon, what have you been doing for the past hundred-plus years? Hahaha!" Kevin directly revealed the truth, ruthlessly mocking Damon.

"No! That's impossible!" Damon exclaimed agitatedly.

"Anna told me this. She even ran into Katherine somewhere back in 1983. And Katherine knew you were constantly looking for ways to open the tomb and save her, but she didn't care," Kevin continued.

"Fake! You're lying! This is absolutely impossible!" Damon, already weakened from multiple vervain injections and lack of blood, was completely shattered by Kevin's devastating revelation and seemed to be in a daze.

"I know you don't believe me. Later, when I take you inside, I can hold off on killing anyone at first. If you find Katherine, I can promise not to kill you two. How about that?" Kevin directly proposed a bet to Damon. Of course, Kevin wasn't losing anything; he said he wouldn't kill them, but he never said he wouldn't continue to desiccate them, right?

After speaking, Kevin ignored Damon and began to pack his weapons, mainly the vervain-soaked wooden stakes. Not long after, Kevin, carrying a duffel bag full of weapons, picked up Damon, tossed him into the back seat of his sports car, and drove directly to the cemetery.

When Kevin entered the tomb beneath Fell's Church, he saw Bonnie and her grandmother had already arrived. He dumped Damon on the ground and walked over.

"Hey, Bonnie," Kevin greeted as he approached.

"Kevin, you're here," Bonnie replied.

"Grams, how's the spell looking?" Kevin asked Bonnie's grandmother after nodding to Bonnie.

"Getting in shouldn't be a problem. Getting out might be a bit difficult. Bonnie's and my powers are still too weak," Bonnie's grandmother said.

"It's okay, no pressure. We'll try later. If it doesn't work, then forget it," Kevin told Bonnie's grandmother.

Not long after, everyone else arrived, and Bonnie's grandmother began to prepare the spell.

"Air, Earth, Fire, Water," she intoned, preparing each element.

"Is that... just tap water going to work?" Elena asked doubtfully.

"What else did you expect?" Bonnie's grandmother replied faintly.

"I just thought it should be holy water or magically enchanted water, something like that," Elena said.

Bonnie's grandmother smiled at Elena but didn't explain further, preparing to begin the spell with Bonnie to open the tomb.

"I'm going to put Damon in here to desiccate," Kevin said to Stefan. "Just admit it, you can't wait to get rid of Damon. Oh, and I almost forgot to tell you something: Katherine isn't in there. You two brothers were both played by her."

As he spoke, the tomb door creaked open. Kevin directly took Damon and Anna inside.

"Anna, go find your mother," Kevin told Anna.

"You didn't believe me, did you? Come on, look for yourself. If you can find Katherine, I lose," Kevin said, giving Damon a mouthful of blood to restore some of his ability to walk, then paid him no further mind.

"Kevin, I found my mother!" Kevin heard Anna's voice and immediately ran in that direction.

Not long after, Kevin fed Anna's mother some blood and then let Anna take her mother out first.

"Well? Nothing, right?" Kevin said, looking at the utterly dispirited Damon.

'Alright, time for me to get to work,' Kevin thought. He pulled out wooden stakes from his duffel bag and, using the Rabbit Talisman, began to slaughter the vampires.

Shortly after Kevin had killed more than a dozen vampires, the fifth Talisman in his mind lit up.
