Chapter 4 - 4

His system wasn't all-powerful and all-knowing. It did have its restrictions. One most annoying restriction for Marcus was the fact that he could only change one property of an item. For example, if he decided to change the quantity of onions from 1 to 10, he couldn't change any other property of the onion or any other onions that just got produced out of thin air.

So, in other words, he could change his wealth from 1 dollar to 10 dollars, but then he couldn't proceed to change the other 1 dollar bills to 10 dollars and so on and so forth. That would be an infinite money glitch. But that wasn't the case, but Marcus did find a way to go around it, and that was mixing two different items. That was also the reason why he could rate the foods even though it contained items which were already changed from before.

But it needed to be done before things were assembled. For example, he couldn't decide to change the door of his food truck and then change the truck since both of them were not the same entity. Changes were allowed only before the assembly or mixing.

But there were other plus points too of the system. He could even change the efficiency of any software, and yes, change the account balance too. And the money in his account was the infinite money glitch. He couldn't change the money amount after he had changed it once.

But if someone other than him sent money to his account, he could then change it again even if someone credited him 1 dollar in his account. As that was considered as mixing by the system. So, in other words, he did have an infinite money glitch ATM machine. But he still decided to continue with his business, as it gave him peace of mind and helped him understand the world better, and also he would lie low on the radar.

If the government or SHIELD or Zola found out that a lazy boy had immense wealth out of nowhere, he might be in a bit of a pickle. So he had decided to carry on what his previous body's wish was and live a life until bumps came on his road, and then he would decide what he would do with his life.

After savoring the lasagna and upping the stars of the food, he decided to go back to sleep. The next few days had been uneventful. Well, not exactly uneventful. There were events. But it's just that they had nothing to do with him.

In these few days, Tony Stark was found and brought back from Afghanistan. Yes, it was 2008 and almost a month ago, almost around the time Marcus had appeared in this body. Marcus couldn't help but click his tongue on the coincidence of his transmigration.

Anyways, back to the topic, Tony Stark returned, and since a few days had gone by, he soon declared himself as the Iron Man. This dude didn't even take a month to declare himself that, which meant that within a month he returned, changed to his new suit and even killed Obidah. What was up with the brain of this man?

No wonder Thanos had called him someone who was cursed with knowledge.

But it didn't matter to Marcus as there was no connection between him and Tony Stark. Well, there was one very small connection, but he wasn't going to exploit that connection, so it didn't matter to Marcus. So his days were fulfilling, well, except for cleaning his truck.

He had already made his truck to be efficient to 380%. Now this 10 times increase of the efficiency came with a mind-blowing increase while also keeping the whole interior and the engine of the food truck the same. The engine was better than any car on earth had and it could have in the next 100 years.

Sorry, this was Marvel.

The car's engine upgrade could match up in the next 20 years if Tony Stark or someone of that caliber willed it. And the engine upgrade wasn't the only thing that came with that high efficiency. The other items like the fridge, the oven, the burner, the griddle, every other item was much more efficient.

Yes, in Marcus's mind now, he had all the knowledge to make such products. And that was the first time that Marcus literally realized that knowledge was a curse. Such change brought a huge amount of memory and knowledge in his mind, so much so that he had a headache the whole day and took a day off.

But the next day, he could easily say that he could make and fix any car, bus or truck engine of earth and make it the best in the world. And not only that, the other kitchen appliances connected to the truck too. Even the chimney was several times more efficient than the current market of chimneys. Thankfully, the outer appearance didn't change even though he had made them more efficient.

Only when someone used it, one would be able to tell. And he didn't allow anyone to come close to his food truck.

A few days after Tony Stark had declared himself as Iron Man, something unexpected happened. Marcus was leaning against the side of his food truck, lazily scrolling through a list of sauces he could invent using the system, when a familiar figure showed up in the queue.

Dressed in a black suit with a white shirt underneath, the man had a face that screamed, "I'm trying to stay unnoticed but failing miserably." Even though nobody recognized him. So much for fake bravado.

It was Happy Hogan.

Marcus raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything. Happy, Tony Stark's assistant and occasional chauffeur, was standing in line like any other customer, waiting patiently with his hands in his pockets and glancing around casually. This was the small connection Marcus had with Tony.

Happy had this thing — whenever he was in New York, he made it a point to stop by Marcus's truck. It had become a bit of a tradition. He would fly in from L.A., do whatever business he had, and make sure to grab at least a couple of Marcus's burgers before heading back.
