Chapter 57 - Hero Killer

It was the final evening of Minato's internship with All Might. The city lights glittered below them as they patrolled, high above the bustling streets of Mustafu. The air was crisp, and the hum of the city was a familiar comfort. All Might, in his muscular form, scanned the horizon with his ever-vigilant gaze, while Minato, moving gracefully beside him, used his heightened senses to detect any anomalies.

Suddenly, All Might's phone buzzed with an insistent ring. He pulled it out, his expression shifting to one of immediate concern as he answered. "All Might here. What's the situation?" His voice grew grave as he listened. "Nomu attack?! In Hosu?!" He clenched his fist. "Understood. We'll be there as fast as we can. ETA... I'll get there as soon as possible!" He ended the call, his usual cheerful demeanor replaced by a look of grim determination.

"What's wrong, All Might-sensei?" Minato asked, already sensing the shift in urgency.

All Might turned to him, his brow furrowed. "That was the police. They've reported a major Nomu attack in Hosu City. Multiple Nomus, causing widespread chaos. Endeavor and his agency are already on scene, along with Gran Torino. But it sounds like they're being overwhelmed."

Minato's eyes narrowed. Nomus. He knew about the incident from anime. More than ten of them, and even Endeavor's agency was struggling? This was serious. "Hosu City, you said?" he mused aloud. "All Might-sensei, you don't need to worry about the travel time. I can get us there instantly."

All Might blinked, surprised. "Instantly? How, Young Namikaze? Even with your speed, Hosu is quite a distance."

Minato offered a small, confident smile. "During my musical tour, I made sure to place a Flying Thunder God seal in all the main cities of Japan, including Hosu. It was just a precautionary measure, in case of any large-scale emergencies where rapid deployment was crucial. Now, it seems that foresight will pay off."

All Might's eyes widened with a mixture of awe and relief. "Brilliant, Young Namikaze! Truly brilliant foresight! Then let's not waste another moment!"

Minato nodded. "Right." He reached out and placed a firm hand on All Might's muscular shoulder. "Hold on tight, All Might-sensei."

Before All Might could respond, Minato activated his Flying Thunder God Jutsu. A brief, ethereal shimmer of blue light enveloped them, and then, in less than a blink, they were gone from the skies of Mustafu.

They reappeared in the heart of Hosu City. The scene that greeted them was absolute pandemonium. Buildings were ablaze, smoke choked the air, and the ground trembled with explosions and impacts. More than ten monstrous Nomus, grotesque amalgamations of flesh and Quirks, rampaged through the streets, tearing through infrastructure and engaging Pro Heroes in brutal combat.

True to the police's report, Endeavor was a blazing inferno of fury, unleashing torrents of flame, pushing back against a particularly vicious Nomu. By his side, Touya Todoroki (now known by his hero name Dabi/himself as Touya and not Dabi as villain from canon) was also blasting flames, his blue fire scorching the monstrous creatures. Gran Torino, a streak of yellow and red, zipped around, delivering precise, powerful kicks that sent Nomus reeling. Other heroes from Endeavor's agency fought desperately, coordinating their Quirks against the relentless tide of attackers. Despite their combined power, the sheer number and resilience of the Nomus made it a desperate struggle.

"This is worse than I imagined," All Might rumbled, his smile gone, replaced by a grim set to his jaw. He was about to leap into the fray when Minato's phone buzzed with an urgent notification.

It was the Class 1-A group chat. A message from Midoriya: "Guys, I'm in trouble! Iida's here, he's badly hurt! And a Pro Hero too! I'm about to fight the Hero Killer, Stain! Please, if anyone's nearby, we need help! Urgent!"

Minato's eyes widened in alarm. Hero Killer Stain? And Iida was already injured? This was a completely separate, but equally critical, emergency. He turned to All Might, his expression serious. "All Might-sensei, I just received an urgent message. Midoriya needs help. He's engaged the Hero Killer: Stain. Iida is with him, already injured, and there's a Pro Hero down too. It sounds like he needs immediate assistance, and it's not far from here."

All Might's eyes hardened further. "Stain?! That villain is incredibly dangerous. You go, Young Namikaze! These Nomus are tough, but I can handle them now that I'm here. Go! Save your friends!"

"Right!" Minato didn't hesitate. He gave a quick nod to All Might, and with another shimmer of his Lightning Chakra Mode, he vanished, leaving All Might to throw himself into the fierce battle against the Nomus, his mighty "SMASH!" echoing through the chaos.

Minato's Lightning Chakra Mode flared as he moved like a phantom through the war-torn streets of Hosu, his senses extended to their maximum. He quickly picked up on a distinct, malevolent presence that could only be the Hero Killer. He darted between burning buildings and overturned cars, following the faint trail.

He found them. In a narrow, shadowed alley, the scene was grim. Midoriya, looking battered but still fighting, was engaged in a desperate duel with Stain, the infamous Hero Killer. Stain, a menacing figure with multiple blades, moved with a terrifying grace, his eyes gleaming with fanaticism. Iida was already down, lying motionless on the ground, his engine Quirk seemingly disabled, his uniform torn. Beside him, a Pro Hero, severely injured, lay bleeding, immobilized by Stain's paralyzing Quirk.

Minato observed the frantic dance between Midoriya and Stain. Midoriya, using One For All: Full Cowl at a higher percentage than in their Sports Festival match, was pushing himself to his absolute limit, his green lightning crackling. He was fast, but Stain was faster, and his blades were relentless. Minato, knowing the paralysis effect of Stain's Quirk, couldn't just rush in. He needed a precise opening, a moment to exploit.

He waited, patiently, observing the patterns of their fight. Midoriya unleashed a powerful Delaware Smash, forcing Stain to recoil. Stain, a blur of motion, retaliated with a flurry of blade attacks, forcing Midoriya to evade desperately. As Midoriya dodged a sweeping katana strike, he managed to land a solid kick to Stain's side, knocking the villain off balance for a split second.

Now! Minato's eyes flashed.

Without a sound, Minato drew a specially weighted kunai from his pouch. With a lightning-fast flick of his wrist, he threw his kunai directly at Stain's head. The glint of metal caught Stain's peripheral vision. In a primal reflex, Stain, already off balance, brought his sword up to deflect the incoming projectile.

But as the blade was about to meet the kunai, Minato performed his signature move. In an instantaneous flash of blue light, he teleported directly to the kunai's location, appearing right in front of the Hero Killer. Stain's eyes, wide with shock, barely registered the golden-haired figure before him.

"RASENGAN!"

Minato's arm, already coiled, slammed the spiraling orb of raw Chakra directly into Stain's chest. Stain's body was sent flying, a helpless ragdoll, hurtling backward through the alley. He slammed against the wall with a sickening thud, leaving an impact crater. He slid down the wall, hitting the ground with a groan, his eyes rolling back. He lay utterly unconscious, his blades clattering beside him.

Midoriya, panting heavily, stared in shock at the sudden turn of events, his eyes wide.

Minato landed lightly, scanning for any further threats. Seeing none, he turned to Midoriya, his voice calm but firm. "Midoriya-kun, how are you doing? Are you alright?"

Midoriya, still breathless, managed to nod. "Y-yeah, Minato-san! I'm okay! Just a little worn out. That was... amazing! You just...!"

"Good," Minato interrupted gently, his gaze shifting to the injured figures on the ground. "Listen, Midoriya-kun. Can you please check on Iida-kun and the injured Pro Hero? See what their conditions are, and make sure they're stable? I'll handle Stain."

"Right!" Midoriya immediately went to Iida's side, his heroic instincts kicking in.

Minato walked over to the unconscious Hero Killer. He quickly secured Stain, binding him tightly with specialized capture tape he carried and placed some seals on him, ensuring he couldn't move even if he woke up.

Once Stain was fully restrained, Minato returned to Midoriya, who was carefully examining Iida. "What's the situation here, Midoriya-kun? Can you fill me in on what happened, quickly?"

Midoriya, still a bit shaky, quickly recounted Iida's reckless pursuit of Stain for revenge, how he had been gravely injured, and how the other Pro Hero (Native) had also fallen victim to Stain's Quirk. He explained the paralysis and the desperate fight they had endured.

"I see," Minato murmured, taking in the full scope of the recklessness. "Revenge isn't the path of a hero, Iida-kun."

With Stain secured and the situation understood, Minato turned his attention back to the broader chaos.

"I'm going to update All Might-sensei," Minato told Midoriya. "Stay here with Iida-kun and the Pro Hero. I'll send for help immediately."

Minato used his Flying Thunder God Jutsu, teleporting directly to All Might's side.

He reappeared just as the last of the Nomus collapsed, utterly defeated. All Might, though breathing heavily and showing signs of strain, stood triumphant amidst the wreckage, the surrounding heroes from Endeavor's agency staring in awe at his might.

"All Might-sensei, the Nomus are all dealt with here?" Minato asked, quickly assessing the scene.

All Might nodded, wiping a bead of sweat from his brow. "Yes, Young Namikaze. Thanks to a combined effort, but mostly to your quick thinking and my arrival, we've neutralized them all. What about you? Did you find Young Midoriya and the Hero Killer?"

"Yes, sir," Minato confirmed, his voice calm and precise. "Midoriya-kun is safe, though a bit banged up. He and a Pro Hero, Native, were injured by Stain. Iida-kun was also severely injured. I've apprehended Stain; he's unconscious and restrained in an alley a few blocks from here."

All Might's expression immediately shifted back to grave concern. "Injuries... Iida, too? And the Hero Killer apprehended! Excellent work, Minato-kun! You saved them!" He pulled out his phone again. "I'll call the police and ambulance immediately. Give me the precise location."

Minato provided the coordinates, ensuring all the injured would receive swift medical attention. Moments later, the wail of sirens began to converge on Hosu City. Within minutes, police cruisers flooded the alleyway where Stain lay. The Hero Killer was swiftly taken into custody, his terrifying reign of terror brought to an end by the combined efforts of young heroes. Ambulances arrived, and the injured Pro Hero Native and Iida were carefully loaded onto stretchers, receiving urgent medical care as they were rushed to the nearest hospital. Midoriya, exhausted but relieved, stayed with them until they were safely away. The Hosu incident, a night of terror and heroism, slowly began to wind down.
