Chapter 22 - Chapter 22 – Buzz Buzz Bank Job, Confrontation Excerpt

Chapter 22 – Buzz Buzz Bank Job (Leon's POV)

(6/10)

Previously on "Trust me I'm not Spider-Man": Hostages saved. Robbers wrecked. Ego mildly inflated.

Now—vault time.

I strolled up to the giant, ominous bank vault like I was in an Ocean's Eleven spin-off directed by a sugar-high raccoon.

The vault door was slightly ajar. Suspiciously ajar. Like someone pressed "almost closed" and then chickened out.

I peeked in. "Yoo-hoo?"

Something clanged inside. Then:

"I'LL TURN YOU INTO A PANINI, I SWEAR TO GOD!!"

Aaand… that would be the last robber.

Hiding in the vault like a gremlin with trust issues.

I stepped inside. "Bro, you're the last one. It's over. You lost."

He lunged at me with a gold bar in both hands, screaming like a caffeinated goose.

I calmly sidestepped, tripped him, and—plop. Face first to the concrete pillar. A perfect way to start the evening.

"Vault goblin neutralized," I muttered as he snored on the floor.

Then—CLUNK.

Behind me.

That sound.

The vault door.

Had just closed.

By itself.

"No. Nope. Don't you dare—"

CLANG.

LOCKED.

...

I blinked in the darkness.

"Okay, okay, okay. This is fine. I have powers. I can phase out. I'm Buzz Buzz no Jutsu, baby."

I tried.

Nothing.

Zip. Nada.

Apparently vaults are made of 'Nah, fam' alloy. Great.

I pulled out my phone. No signal.

Of course.

I briefly considered calling Terrence—then remembered he'd probably file a tax fraud report against me.

While panicking (internally, because I'm cool), my eye caught a stack of dusty crates labeled in marker:

"K.S.S – Personal Archive. Confidential. Do Not Touch (seriously, this means you)."

Naturally, I touched it.

Inside:

Photos. Ledgers. Receipts. Crypto wallet info. Dirt. Blackmail. All pointing toward someone called...

Kingpin Supreme Seraphim.

Codename: K.S.S.

Real Name: ???**

For a moment, I thought dude's name was KSI.

Apparently, this dude owned half the underground city. Gangs, politicians, secret snack vending machine monopolies—everything.

One file even had a photo of him with a llama. And a really pretty middle aged lady.

That felt important. Or cursed. Maybe both.

I stared at the incriminating stack of papers.

Then stared at the emergency vault lighter (yes, those exist—don't question it).

"You know what? Screw it."

FWOOSH.

The documents burned in seconds.

Somewhere in the city…

A bald man in a diamond suit suddenly dropped his wine glass.

"Someone just burned my Vanessa photos..." he whispered.

Back in the vault, I stood with singed eyebrows and the smug look of a man who just lit a Molotov cocktail at a fireworks factory.

Suddenly—creeeeaaaakkk—

The vault opened.

Terrence stood there.

Mouth agape.

Holding a half-eaten Payday bar.

"What… the hell are you doing?"

I grinned. "Community service."

Then walked past him like I didn't just commit information arson on a crime lord.

---

Cut to Kingpin Supreme Seraphim's fortress.

A giant screen shows grainy footage of Leon's paper-bagged face.

"Find him," Kingpin growls, stroking a crystal llama statue.

"I want his head, his powers… and my damn documents."

POV: Third Person. The confrontation. The action. The sugar.

---

The abandoned Cerebro chamber creaked under the sunset, half-consumed by vines and fractured steel. Storm hovered just above the jagged ground, her white eyes scanning the mist.

"Logan, you smell that?"

"Yeah," he muttered. "Trouble. And cheap Brotherhood cologne."

From the shadows—they stepped out.

Avalanche. Pyro. Riptide. Toad.

A half-circle of chaos, led by Mystique, clad in obsidian leather and venomous calm.

"Nice of you to bring the kids, Charles," she purred. "Hope they're insured."

"Mystique," Charles said sternly, wheeling forward, "we don't need to do this."

"No, we don't," she replied. "But he does."

*INSERT AURA FARMING MUSIC*

Suddenly—the air hummed.

A deep, resonant hum that made metal sing.

He descended like a storm front. A warlord farming from fear as the surrounding air around the X-Men turned stiff from the sheer seriousness.

Magneto.

His crimson cloak billowed, and the earth itself recoiled as stray rebar twisted upward to greet him.

"Hello, old friend," Charles said quietly.

"Spare me," Erik replied, floating down to solid ground. "I'm not here for pleasantries."

Storm raised her hands. Wolverine unsheathed his claws. But Erik only looked at Charles.

"What did you do to the boy?"

"...I don't know what you mean."

"Don't lie to me."

With a twist of his fingers, Charles's metal wheelchair screamed against his will, sliding back violently. Jean caught him in a telekinetic shield just in time.

"Erik—"

"Leon. The anomaly. The boy with energy surges not even Cerebro could track—until you turned it back on."

Lightning cracked the air as Storm took the sky. The blackened clouds hovering the scene.

"If it's a fight you want—"

"I want the truth," Erik snapped. The floor beneath them quivered.

Suddenly—Pyro lunged, throwing massive flame toward Cyclops who immediately shot a beam at the attack. It was all the spark needed.

Battle exploded.

---

Chaos triggers almost immediately

Jean shielding Xavier. Logan ripping through debris. Storm creating a mini-cyclone to counter Riptide.

But in the eye of the storm, a heated conversation between brothers took place.

"Leon is the result of something you tried to bury, Charles."

"You're wrong. He's just a boy—"

"A boy infused with echoes of Cerebro's untested psychic and quantum residue. Mutated by proximity and remains of gods! I read the energy myself. You used him."

"I protected him."

"You doomed him!!"

Magneto's helmet glowed faintly red.

"And now, when the world sees what he becomes… it will blame us all. When the world you try to protect comes crashing down, all fingers would point us!"

Xavier flinched.

"So what will you do, Erik? Kill him? Cage him?"

"No," Magneto said. "I'll teach him how to break the cage. I'll guide him."

With that—he lifted both arms and ripped the ruined Cerebro dome into the sky, exploding it like a metallic firework as a distraction. Magneto hovering as the metallic ruins encircles him. The Brotherhood vanished in the chaos.

---

Charles stares at the smoking sky.

"He knows?" Jean whispers.

"Yes," Charles mutters. "And worse... he may be right."

"What do we do about it?" Storm asked as she slowly descended from the sky.

The silence from Charles spoke more than mere words as he gazed into the distance.

"We get to him first."
