CAELAN'S POV
"Not all storms come to pass, some come to watch, to warn or to awaken what should have stayed buried."
The scent of salt and sea still clung to my robes as I stepped off the Emerald Gold and onto the gleaming docks of the Emerald Gulf. The wind here felt different, colder, somehow, more rigid. Less like the wild embrace of the Pearl Castle's waves and more like a watchful gaze that never blinked.
We made our way toward the council halls, the click of our boots echoing through marble corridors carved from sea-stone and laced with Fae runes. I walked beside Ellowen, Thalia just behind me, and though no words were exchanged, I could feel the tension clinging to all of us like mist. Something had shifted during our time in Pearl Castle. And I was not sure how long we could hide it.
