Travis's heartbeat was pounding in his ears as he looked through rooms, searching for Alice. What had happened to her? Where was she?
"Maybe she's run away with her one true love. I did tell you today that it was jealousy that made her post that video," Octavia said.
He wasn't supposed to take anybody's word seriously, but Octavia's sentence wrenched a hole deep in his heart—because where was she? Had she eloped with her former lover? He had to find her.
"I've changed my mind," Grant said, pressing a blade against Alice's throat.
"Instead of killing you with no fun and leaving your body here to rot, I'm going to make your husband dearest think we're together and you've eloped with me. Just to add a bit of spice to the story," Grant said, a stupid grin on his face.
Alice's heartbeat slowed. That would completely break Travis. She needed to stop Grant. She started to wriggle around again.
