Chapter 29 - Fox Face Spiritual Roots

When Ji Yen came back to the place where he left Ji Wen, Ji Wen was still there.

But he was in his smaller version.

Seeing Ji Yen coming back, Ji Wen asked him. "How was it? Too bad or not?"

He was asking about the demon beast occupying the territory of the demon monkey.

"No need to think about it. I have already finished him." Ji Yen responded as he landed.

"Ohh.." Ji Wen let out a low voice. But then his head suddenly clicked. "What..!!? You finished him already? How?" with a loud and surprised voice.

"OK your are too loud. And yes... I already finished it." Ji Yen said in annoyance.

"You sure?" Ji Wen was a little bit skeptical.

The oppression he felt earlier was stronger than the oppression he felt from Ji Yen usually.

So, he looked at Ji Yen with his tilted a little, it looked like he was saying you are bluffing with his eyes.

Ji Yen just shook his head in defeat. He simply turned around and flew back to toward the place he and the demon tiger fought.

"Just follow me." He said as he was flying back.

Ji Wen followed him him but he was still not believing the story.

When they reached the place where Ji Yen and the demon tiger fought, Ji Wen saw many feather blades still there inserting on the ground.

After landing, Ji Yen pointed at some particular feather blades and said to Ji Wen. "Go and check out those blades. You will understand how I killed the beast."

Ji Wen squinted his eyes and looked at Ji Yen.

"Just go look at those." Ji Yen said.

Ji Wen still did not believe but he still went towards the blades Ji Yen was

pointing.

When he reached near the blades, he felt an extreme sense of danger from the blades.

He felt like just one of them could end his life in an instant.

He turned his head back and looked at Ji Yen. "How did you do it. I mean these blades, they look like yours and at the same also not yours. How?!"

Ji Yen smiled at him and explained. "I used a secret technique and infused Qi into it. That makes those blades more powerful and deadlier than usual."

"Qi..? But you told me only those at Grade 2 and above can use it. How can you use it though?" Ji Wen was confused.

"Remember the time I got enlightened?" Ji Yen reminded him.

Hearing that, Ji Wen instantly realized.

"Yeah. I got the method during it." Ji Yen's words confirmed his thoughts.

Ji Wen looked down and murmured. "So thats how you did it."

At that moment, Ji Yen snapped back to his original mission.

He hurriedly said to Ji Wen. "Let's go. We need to find something before others can find it."

----

The two demon birds headed towards the territory of the demon tiger.

The reason why Ji Yen did not asked the demon tiger about the spiritual treasure is because Ji Yen believed he could find it by himself without the help from the tiger.

And he was going to its territory, instead of searching in the demon monkey's territory, because he believed the treasure is in the tiger territory.

If it was in the demon monkey's territory, the system would have already informed him when he visited the monkey many times before.

As they were flying towards the demon tiger territory, Ji Yen was thinking whether he should take Ji Wen with him or not.

He was struggling to find the right answer. On the bright, having someone to accompany you and help you in an unknown environment is great. But on the other hand, he also doesn't want to drag him to the unknown danger.

As he was struggling to think, he heard Ji Wen's concerned voice from the side. "Brother, are you okey? Is something bothering you?"

The voice brought Ji Yen back to reality. "Haha..its nothing." He simply brushed it off.

"I mean.. you can tell me about it, if you don't mind it." Ji Wen said.

After thinking for a few seconds, Ji Yen turned to Ji Wen and asked him in a calm voice. "Ji Wen, do you want to follow me. I am going to explore a new place."

Without thinking much, Ji Wen replied. "Of course."

"I mean I am going tovleave this forest and going to explore the human settlements." Ji Yen clarified.

That caught Ji Wen off guard. He always thought he and his brother are going to spend their lives in the forest. He never even thought of leaving his territory.

And never even in his dream he thought of going to human settlements.

He asked cautiously. "But won't the humans hunt us, since we are demon beasts?"

Hearing that, Ji Yen smiled mysteriously. "You will understand once we get the treasure."

As the two large birds kept on talking to eachother, they finally arrived at the territory of the demon tiger.

The territory of the tiger was different from other demon beasts'. The place was filled with taller grasses and few trees were seen growing there.

But as they kept on flying towards the deeper part of the territory, they saw the place changes from grassland to deep tree forest with tall canopies. Even the sunlight could only barely break through it.

Ji Yen understood why the tiger chose the place. It is the perfect place for hunting all kinds of animals.

Following the heavy scent left by the tiger, Ji Yen quickly determined the home of the tiger.

From about 100 meters away, Ji Yen spotted a huge bush.

Knowing that it must be the resting place of the tiger, Ji Yen and Ji Wen both landed near it.

As they were walking towards the bush, both of them smelled a strong smell of a plant.

They both looked at eachother and quickly walked inside the bush.

The moment they brushed aside the outer part of the bush, the saw a plant with no leave in the middle of the bush.

With even Ji Yen's words, the system sent him the data.
