Chapter 24 - Chapter 23: Amidst the Chaos

The Chaos Vision raged in the heavens above Fairy Peak, a breathtaking, terrifying spectacle that held the entirety of the Tianshang Holy Land in its thrall. The swirling, primordial energies painted the sky in colors never before witnessed, and the phantoms of mythical beasts danced amidst colossal, flickering runes, their silent roars echoing with the Dao of creation itself. The immense pressure emanating from this celestial display was a palpable weight upon every cultivator, a constant reminder of the extraordinary event unfolding.

In the airspace directly above Fairy Peak, a silent, almost reverent assembly of the Holy Land's most powerful figures had gathered. The Hidden Ancestors, their ethereal forms barely discernible, stood like ancient, unmovable mountains. Before them, the Holy Lord Lan Xianyi radiated a serene yet supreme authority. And slightly behind her, the Peak Masters of the various other peaks watched, their expressions a complex tapestry of awe, disbelief, and dawning understanding.

One of the male Peak Masters, a stern-faced man named Elder Gu Tianyu from Mystic Array Peak, broke the silence, his voice tight with incredulity as he addressed no one in particular, yet everyone present. "Such a vision… I have scoured the ancient texts of our sect, delved into records lost to time, yet I have never encountered a description of a phenomenon so… so primordial, so utterly overwhelming. Is it a divine artifact of unimaginable grade manifesting? Or perhaps a legendary spiritual root awakening to its full potential? The sheer scale… it defies comprehension!"

Another elder, a Dao Integration expert known for his vast knowledge of ancient physiques, chimed in, his voice trembling slightly, "The way the worldly laws themselves seem to bend and warp around this vision… the resonance with the very fabric of the Great Dao… this cannot be a mere artifact a heaven-defying constitution, one that stands at the absolute pinnacle of existence!"

From amongst the Hidden Ancestors, a raspy, ancient voice, like stones grinding together, spoke, its words carrying the weight of eons. "Indeed. What we are witnessing, young ones, is no ordinary divine body. The swirling energies, the phantoms of creation, the resonance with the original Dao… this is the unmistakable signature of the Chaos Physique. A body forged from the undifferentiated essence of the universe before the myriad Daos diverged. Such a being… if they do not fall midway, if their Dao heart remains steadfast, they are destined to walk the path of the Emperor, perhaps even touch upon the realms beyond!"

A collective gasp, even from some of the Peak Masters, went through the assembly. The Chaos Physique! A legendary constitution spoken of only in the most fragmented, ancient myths, a physique that was said to be a direct manifestation of the Great Dao itself!

"The Chaos Divine Body…" another Ancestor mused, his voice a whisper that seemed to carry across worlds, "to think such a legend would manifest within our Tianshang Holy Land in this era. This is a blessing of unimaginable proportions, but also a responsibility that will shake the foundations of this continent."

Amidst this high-level discussion and dawning revelation, Bai Lianxin, who had been vigilantly guarding the entrance to her main hall, sensed the convergence of several immensely powerful auras above. Her heart, already pounding with a mixture of fierce pride and protective anxiety for Su Chan, tightened. She knew this moment was inevitable. With a deep breath to steady her nerves, she gracefully stepped out of the hall, her snow-white robes immaculate, her expression serene yet firm.

Appearing in the air just below the assembled luminaries, she performed a respectful bow. "Disciple Bai Lianxin of Fairy Peak pays respects to the Honored Ancestors, to the Holy Lord, and to my fellow Peak Masters."

One of the most ancient-looking Ancestors, his form barely more than a shimmering outline of light, inclined his head slightly. "Peak Master Bai," his voice was ancient, yet carried an undeniable power, "this vision… it originates from your Fairy Peak. Tell us, who is the blessed child undergoing such a world-altering awakening?"

All eyes – those of the Ancestors, the Holy Lord, and the curious, slightly envious, Peak Masters – turned towards Bai Lianxin, their gazes filled with intense anticipation.

Bai Lianxin met their collective gaze calmly, though a fierce, protective light shone in her eyes. "Honored Ancestors, Holy Lord, esteemed colleagues," she announced, her voice clear and unwavering, "the one currently undergoing this physique awakening within my hall is my second disciple, Su Chan."

A stunned silence followed her words, broken only by the distant, cosmic hum of the Chaos Vision. Su Chan? The quiet, unassuming True Disciple of Fairy Peak, known more for his seventeen years of stagnation at the Qi Refining realm than for any remarkable talent? That Su Chan possessed the legendary Chaos Divine Body?

Liu Cang of Sword Peak was the first to recover, a look of dawning comprehension, mixed with a touch of almost regretful envy, on his stern face. "Su Chan… So it is him! Congratulations, Peak Master Bai! To have such a peerless genius under your tutelage is a blessing not just for Fairy Peak, but for our entire Holy Land!"

Shen Qingyu of Ice Lotus Peak, her icy facade now completely shattered by a look of profound awe directed towards Bai Lianxin, nodded slowly. "Indeed, Sister Bai. This is a fortune that defies description. The Chaos Divine Body… our sect's destiny may well be reshaped by your disciple." She, Yu Xinyue, and Hua Yueli, as diary holders, were processing this not as a new revelation of what physique Su Chan had, but as the public, undeniable confirmation of the magnitude of the gift he had received from the system.

Yu Xinyue of Alchemy Peak, her gentle face alight with a warm, almost motherly smile, added, "This is wonderful news, Sister Lianxin! Su Chan has always been a good, earnest child. To see him blessed with such an opportunity fills my heart with joy for him, and for you."

Hua Yueli of Illusory Peak let out a soft, musical laugh. "Oh, Bai Lianxin, you certainly know how to keep a secret! Little Brother Su Chan, a Chaos Divine Body! How utterly, delightfully dramatic! My congratulations, this will make things much more… vibrant around here!"

The other Peak Masters, particularly those who had been unaware, quickly followed suit, their voices filled with genuine (and perhaps some feigned) congratulatory tones, though their eyes still held a complex mixture of shock, envy, and strategic calculation. The emergence of such a talent would undoubtedly shift the internal dynamics of the Holy Land.

Bai Lianxin accepted their congratulations with a graceful, dignified nod. "The blessings of Heaven are mysterious," she said, her voice calm but firm. "My disciple Su Chan has always possessed a steadfast heart. This master will do everything in her power to guide and protect him on his path." Her words carried an unspoken warning to any who might harbor ill intentions.

Just then, Fang Xin, Ning Youxi, and Lin Ruo'er, having ensured Su Chan was stable within the protective array their master had swiftly erected inside the hall, also emerged. They looked up at the assembly of the Holy Land's most powerful figures with a mixture of awe and nervousness, then dutifully performed their greetings.

"Disciple Fang Xin (Ning Youxi/Lin Ruo'er) pays respects to the Honored Ancestors, Holy Lord, and all Peak Masters!"

Their presence, especially the radiant beauty of the three young women, drew appreciative, if brief, glances from the assembled experts. The future of Fairy Peak, it seemed, was indeed bright.

Now, all that remained was to wait. The Chaos Vision still blazed with untamed, primordial glory, showing no signs of abating. The spiritual energy of the surrounding region continued to pour into Fairy Peak like a celestial river. And everyone, from the lowliest new Outer Disciple gazing up in fear and wonder, to the ancient Hidden Ancestors observing with millennia of wisdom in their eyes, waited with bated breath for the awakening to conclude, for Su Chan to emerge.

And Su Chan, the unwitting catalyst for all this cosmic and political pandemonium, remained lost to the world within Bai Lianxin's hall. He was a ship tossed on an infinite ocean of chaotic energy, his consciousness adrift. The fusion process was an agony and an ecstasy, a tearing down and a rebuilding of his very essence. He felt his meridians expanding to an impossible degree, his dantian transforming into a miniature swirling nebula, his bones and flesh being tempered by primordial energies that hummed with the song of creation. It was a pain that threatened to shatter his soul, yet simultaneously, a bliss so profound it felt like returning to the very origin of existence. His Qi Refining cultivation, so long stagnant, was being pulverized, reformed, and then, with an incredible, irresistible surge, beginning to climb at a terrifying, unprecedented rate, fueled by the boundless chaotic Qi his awakening body was now ravenously devouring. He was being reborn, forged anew in the crucible of Chaos itself.
