As Shen and Qui Yan both come towards the arena, they see a lot of people there. including kids.
"To everyone who has gathered here. I suppose all of you want treasures." That guy claps his hand as a formation activates and the void gets cut open. "This is the entrance to the 'Double Dungeon.' You will get 70 percent of what you retrieve. Also, once you enter this dungeon, if you die, you will be teleported back here." He raises his hand and says, "In one hour we will start. Shen looks around and sees quite a lot of kids around his age.
"Shen, I have to go to the Empire. Are you planning on staying?" Asks Qui Yu to Shen
"Yes, I plan on participating," says Shen.
Qui Yu thinks for a while and decides to let Shen go, as there is a teleporter so Shen won't die. She bids Shen good luck and heads towards the Loyal Palace.
As Shen is watching around and walking, he suddenly bumps into a boy with red hair.
"Sorry, my bad, I wasn't looking," says Shen to that boy.
"It's okay, I'm wrong. Nice to meet you," says Rong to Shen.
Shen looks at Rong and sees his pale skin, long white hair tied in a scholar's knot, and white robes embroidered with runes. sharp blue eyes.
"By any chance, are you a scholar and learning runes?" Says Shen to Rong.
"Oh, how did you know? Yes, I'm a scholar. I'm learning runes and talismans." Says Robg to Shen.
"Damn, it's pretty cool," Shen says and thinks, "Let's try teaming up with him." Shen looks at Rong and says, "Rong, want to team up and go inside the dungeon?"
Rong smiles. "Alright." Says Rong excitedly. Rong looks at Shen. "You know, you're the first to not look down on me because I'm a scholar." Says Rong. "I'm so happy to meet you."
As Shen and Rong are talking, a girl approaches them.
"Ah... Ha…hallo. My name is Irina Wuan. Can I join your team?" Says Irina Wuan.
Shen looks at Irina. She has long, flowing silver hair that shimmers like frost under moonlight and pale lavender eyes with a crystalline sheen. Her skin is porcelain-pale, almost glowing in colder light. She wears layered snow-white robes edged with light blue frost patterns, the fabric thin and fluid like drifting mist. A silver lotus emblem is embroidered over her chest, and her sleeves flow like ice petals in motion.
"Sure, I'm Xuan Shen, and he is Rong," says Shen, introducing themselves.
"Xuan?! Aren't you from the ancient Xuan Clan?" Says with excitement.
"Well, well, look there. It seems like 2 losers are there," says Zhen Zhou.
Zhen Zhou is from the Primordial Dao Sect. He has red hair, and he uses fire as his attribute. He likes to bully Irina, as she is deemed useless in her clan and sect. Irina is from the Ice Palace Sect.
"Zhou, why can't you just leave me alone?" Says Irina to Zhou.
Zhou stops in front of us with 5 other kids and starts to laugh. "Looks like we have quite a party here. One girl is not good for anything, and another is a scholar? What will even this scholar do?" Says Zhou, laughing.
Shen looks at him and uses his Eye of Black Star to put immense pressure on them. Zhou stops laughing, and others stop laughing and look around trying to find the source of the pressure.
"Why aren't you laughing now?" Shen asks mockingly.
"Oh, you think you're special? I'll beat the living fuck out of you and feed you to dogs." Says Zhou
"Will be waiting, Zhen," says Shen with a mocking smile on his face.
"Zhou, let's go. We don't need to waste more time here." Says a boy from Zhen Zhou's team.
"Fine, I'll see you in the dungeon, motherfucker." Zhou says this and walks away.
Irina looks at Shen and says, "Thanks for helping me," with a warm smile.
Shen looks at her and smiles. "Who is he anyway?" Shen asks Irina.
"He was supposed to be my fiancé. But after he heard about me, he insulted us and rejected me." Says Irina with a sad expression.
"Well, that's good. You don't deserve some bastard like that," says Shen to Irina.
"Guys, enough talking. The competition is about to start!" Says Rong to Shen and Irina.
"Ladies and Gentlemen. Now we shall start the day!" The host says as the dimensional crack becomes wider and everyone rushes in.
"Let's go," says Shen to Irina and Rong, and the three of them walk in.
As they exit on the other side, they see an outpost. Here people gathered, as this is the exit to the real world, and whatever they find, they sell it here. The dungeon is cave-like with ice all over. Looking like an ice cave.
"Seems like Holy Sword Manore set it up?" Shen asks curiously.
"Same guess," says Rong.
After this they walk forward and grab their equipment. Shen is using a dagger and a black sword on his back. Irina is using a rapier. Rong is using a longsword with runes engraved in it.
As they walk, suddenly 10 ice wolves attack them. Ice wolves are low-tier monsters. So they manage to kill 8, but then, as they continue fighting, suddenly an ice wolf with Cultivation of Fake Quisi (Origin Realm) attacks them, and Shen quickly pushes Ring out of its range.
"What the fuck? Why is an Origin Realm spiritual beast here?" Shouts Rong.
Hearing Rong, the beast rushes at him and uses its head to throw Rong against the wall of the cave as he falls unconscious.
"Irina, shield yourself." Says Shen
"What? What about you?!" Says Irina.
"Do it now!!" Says Shen, seeing the beast charging up and about to release an electric shockwave.
Irina raises her sword, releases her Qi, and makes a shield around her as the Wolf releases the shockwave. Shen, on the other hand, gets thrown back and hits the wall as his head starts to bleed.
"I guess this life ends here," thinks Shen in his mind as suddenly a notification pops up from his system.
"New check-in detected. Kill the beast in front of you and check in," says the system.
Shen closes his eyes, ready to die, but suddenly he feels like something is awakening. Suddenly Shen's left eye glows purple, and the space around the wolf starts to crack as it breaks with the wolf, and the space again restores, but the wolf is gone. Not even a hair of it is left.
"I-I guess I wo-won't be dying so quick-quickly," says Shen as he spouts out blood and falls unconscious, and Irina rushes to him.
After 2 hours, Shen wakes up in Irina's lap with her healing him and Rong watching in jealousy.
"Huh? What happened?" Shen asks, not remembering what had happened.
"You're finally up! Thank God, I was so worried about you!" says Irina.
"How did you just make that wolf disappear? I heard from Irina that you did something with your left eye and the space shatter, and the wolf was shattered with the space. How did you do it?" Rong asks Shen.
"Ah, fine, don't tell anyone else. You see, my left eye can manipulate space. But right now it damages me quite a lot." Says Shen calmly.
"Oh," Rong and Irina both look at him. "OH! WHAT?! YOU'RE SAYING YOU CAN MANIPULATE SPACE?!" Says Rong in a shock.
"That's like an ability a saint could have. Even saints have trouble learning the law of space, while you can already understand it." Irina says. "You're truly a prodigy."
"Well, thanks. Anyways, your lap is comfortable to sleep on." Says Shen to Irina, flirting with her before he gets up. "I'm going to recover myself."
"Tha-Thank yo-you," says Irina, blushing.
Shen sits down in a meditation posture and starts to heal himself. Suddenly a system notification pops up. "The host has defeated Quisi Realm (Origin Realm) Frost Wolf. The host is rewarded with half of its cultivation years. The host will receive 3 Max healing pills." Says the system to Shen.
As Shen reads it, suddenly his cultivation aura, which was yellow, suddenly turns dark as Irina and Rong watch with shocked faces, and a blast of energy releases from Shen, and the cave trembles as Shen breaks through to the Early Spirit Sea Realm.
"Oh, what?! You just crossed 2 realms! That's something even the Son of the Jiang Empire can't do, and he is considered a prodigy. That guy is the 9th strongest cultivator in the Jiang Empire." Says Rong in a shock.
